Well..... There is a hunter that spawns where Father G was later in teh game and Eileen is fighting him. If Eilleen dies you get her badge and can buy he gear which includes the Dual blades. I have no idea how to get them when she lives
when exactly does she spawn there? She used to be at the area near the Cathedral telling me not to go to the Tomb but after I killed a couple of bosses the night changed and she's no longer there. Will she be at the Father G place now?
did anyone else think he was so hard that there must be something you're missing, or some kind of gimmick to get through the fight? It wasn't until I realized I had to take out his legs that I started surviving more than 30 seconds. What a brutal fight when you first get there and you have no idea what to do. GG Fromsoft.
Just beat the blood starved beast. Gave it 2 tries last night and had him really low on health before doing something dumb or trying s new tactic and getting killed. This third time kept it slow and managed my poison and he went down no problem.
So, haven't played that much for now ... but i can't find the first boss.
Yharnam is one hell of a labyrinth, i think the areas in DkS and DkS2 are more structured.
But, on my search for the first boss, i found another one
Father Gas ... Father Italian-Name-Whatever
. Got him down to half health, but then he wiped the floor with me ... the fact that you cannot level up until you meet a certain criteria does not really help, because have fun fighting the boss with your starting stats!
The good side is, i can now level up! ... after losing all of my blood echoes to the boss, the echoes i ironically wanted to level up with ...
A question about the origins, i picked "Noble Scion" while being half asleep in the night, but that origin/class seems to be a rather lacking one ... am i screwed with the origin stats and restarting a good idea?
Thanks in advance!
Made the mistake last night of walking into a new room, instead of rolling like usual, and got grabbed from behind and had my throat slit. This fucking game man! Also had a jump scare that almost made me drop my controller lol.
Each set is situational, there will be times you want a higher resist in certain stats and you'll switch out armor. The Yharnam Hunter set is a good general purpose set though.
Physical defense isn't the only stat to worry bout when wearing armour. Some situations call for more bolt resistence or slow poison resistence. I think that if you encounter a certain area with a certain element being used by most enemies or even a boss - then you might find out that using a more appropriate armour set might serve you better than thr Yahrnam Hunter set.
Gotcha, thanks guys. I guess I'll start looking at stats a bit more carefully, usually I just look at defense and everything is lower that the Yarnham Hunter Set
also what the fuck at this fucker with the sack. ton of health, and almost 1 shots me everytime, took me ages to kill him (and then died to the fodder guys up the stairs like I said lol)
Besides the cane what is the next skill based weapon I can get my hands on? I'm guessing
Scythe?.
I know you can get the
twinblades
early but that involves being bad
To be fair the cane at +6 with a SKL rune which puts scaling to A and 25 skill is quite good. Just getting jealous that everything I'm picking up is basically strength.

I'm in the UK and got my copy yesterday. I was only able to play for a couple of hours last night and my first impressions are very positive on the whole, but I do have a couple of minor gripes.
Firstly, the game may not be the greatest technical achievement, but the art and atmosphere are absolutely fantastic. Yharnam is a place just begging to be explored, and the residents I have come across so far look suitably grotesque.
I am really enjoying the new combat. I think it actually suits me better than Dark Souls combat ever did, and I've found the opening areas fairly easy going so far. The health-regain mechanic makes it ok to stand and trade blows with most enemies, and it is fun to use the dodge to move in and out of range quickly, and to quickly move from one target to the next. I'm have also found the parry system much more forgiving than it is in the Souls games.
As for the aforementioned gripes, the camera during the Cleric Beast fight is atrocious, and really spoils that encounter. The first boss fight in a Souls game should be a memorable spectacle, but this one is ruined by a camera that is all over the place. I know that not using lock-on improves things, but I still don't accept that as an excuse. The Cleric Beast itself isn't particularly hard to fight. The shitty camera is the real enemy.
It's very early days yet, but I'm also not sure I like the blood vial mechanic. Farming hasn't really been necessary since Demon's Souls, and I thought the estus system was a step forward. This new system seems like a step backwards to me.
As I say, on the whole I think the game is great so far. Really looking forward to getting properly stuck into it tonight.

Well since you're still at the very beginning stage of the game, rerolling is definitely an option. As for which class to reroll to - that kind of depends on the style that you want to play and which trick weapon(s) you want to learn first (or throughout your playthrough).
Also you're not exactly screwed with the stats. Any loss in stat points can be made up by leveling. Also, stats aren't going to make or break an encounter with an enemy. Stats will however be used to reach weapon requirements.
If anything, starting new playthroughs to try out the other classes/trick weapons isn't a bad idea at all. You'll still have your original playthrough that you started (if you decide not to delete that playthrough).
After first boss I had an idea, wear my sports watch that shows BPM just for fun. Two min into Father G fight the alarm set off, and it was set at 150bpm
hours. I guess this is what people that played a shitload of Dark Souls 1 felt like plowing through Dark Souls 2 (which itself was the one I really hammered down on and played a ton).
Most bosses went down on the first attempt. There's not really much they can do against a full-stack of vials and shitload of HP (and ass-hugging, always the ass hugging).
Still, despite exploring a finding a ton of side stuff, I still missed a lot. Great game. Time for character two.
Instead of spending any points in STR I just levelled up my saw spear to roll with my cane. +6 had C scaling which is better than any other low req weapon I've found so far. Going to hunt down the Scythe, but will ultimately end up with twinblades I think.
I think its time to stop fucking around with the stake driver and go back to my kirkhammer. I mean I love the thing but I really feel like im gimping myself, enemies arent really stunlocked by the R1s anymore, the charge takes way too long to come out, and its mostly a novelty thing. oh well, at least I killed a boss with it

has killed me three times, I guess I just need to dodge his stupid trap spell, if he traps me once I am dead since he did it immediately after his attack and I couldn't do anything except parry and he still got his spell off. Lost all of my insight too...great
