If your Arcane stat is higher than your STR / SKL stat, does it use your Arcane stat for weapon scaling? I'm confused why some weapons have arcane scaling.. is that only for with elemental runes/paper?

What does the eye in the HUD mean ?

Insight. Used for summoning help, also when you have 10 a new merchant in the Dream appears. You get them by facing bosses.

Be wary, it seems like, starting at 15 insight, the enemies get harder, so use them if you want to avoid it.

so i got spoiled with the tiny music box so i knew i wouldn't have any problem, but i still wanna fight him normally as if i didn't
that didn't last long when he changed lol, used it few seconds immediately after

So at the start it feels like you can go anywhere, and everything connects to everything. But after just doing cleric beast and Father Gascoigne, it feels like I've cleared out the starting area and I need to go through the Odeon Gate to proceed - just wanted to check I haven't missed anything obvious. Think I cleared out the sewer area too.

That Darkbeast Paarl though....
did anyone else think he was so hard that there must be something you're missing, or some kind of gimmick to get through the fight? It wasn't until I realized I had to take out his legs that I started surviving more than 30 seconds. What a brutal fight when you first get there and you have no idea what to do. GG Fromsoft.

Yeah know its funny, Paarl was easy for me but Rom was a goddamn nightmare

I came to the same conclusion last night during my session. Once you go through the gate it opens up into a whole new section that branches off all over the place just like the first area.

Yeah there's basically nowhere to go before Oedon. You're good.

Can you
lock on target to his legs? I Just got to him last night and gave him a single half assed attempt but didn't seem to notice r3 locking on to any legs
can't wait to fight him tonight

I did the fight without locking on at all. You can only lock to torso/head which will screw you up. Just run under him, aim for his legs, and you're good to go.

Just beat Father G in NG+ the health increase is insane.

Has anyone found a better way to do chalice dungeons via co op? My friend and i have to re summom each other after each floor. Seems pointless.

It's funny seeing how many are having problems with BSB. Funny in that I got him 2nd try but there are other bosses I had to do 10+ times. Just depends on your playstyle I guess.

For what it's worth, the first time, I didn't know about the poison and I wasn't really ready- more of a feel him out type fight. Second time I equipped the church armor set for it's massive poison resistance stat, and I beat him fairly easily. It was probably cleaner than the youtube vid, but I didn't parry, just dodged, did combo, backed away, repeat. Use the pillars for protection when you need to heal and regain stamina.

Anyone else think coop even with one person makes it way too easy? I did it for
Vicar Amelia and BSB
and it was way too easy.

That's why I stay away from it on my first play through, when I beat a certain boss it took me 8 minutes to do, when online became active I thought I'd try the same boss to see what it would be like with another person, got summoned to their world, boss was dead in less than a minute.

The one thing that I absolutely HATE about the cane is how HORSESHIT the rolling whip attack is

Bloodborne-chan, I'm using a ranged weapon because I don't want to be near whatever I'm fighting so WHY GOD WHY do I have to dash forward leaving me open to retaliation and do a wide MELEE swing on a fucking WHIP ALSJKJDSAKJDLASJ

Has anyone else noticed that despite better scaling to strength, the Kirkhammer does less damage than the Axe? I'm using +2 Axe for more damage than my +3 Hammer. Am I missing something there?

He kept getting me with the damn grab attack :(

Parry strategy seems like the right way for me to solo it going forward but I already killed it in co-op lol

Yeah, he was probably the easiest boss for me (and I never tried to parry). Stats can provide a huge buffer, more so with some bosses. I was having trouble with V
icar
A
melia
, so I came back later at level 20 and beat her that attempt without difficulty.

Grinding kind of sucks, but I don't get why people act like it's the end of the world. Central Yarnam lamp, takes about 5 minutes to get more than full resources, including blood. You take the left shortcut, kill the four guys in the house. Go out the door, kill the dude, the two werewolves, and the fatty. Run back down into the house and go down to the steps for the two other fatties. That's usually 10-14 Blood. You can even die at the end to make yourself respawn enemies faster without having to load twice.

I'm still trying to get used to the higher HP. I've only mastered DS1 so I got used to dying with 2-3 hits. I'm still early in the game but it feels different and I like it.

Anyone else had problems with their save file not loading?

I played yesterday (with the Day1-Patch) and now I only get a "Installation is incomplete. Impossible to load the save"-message.
I copied my save to USB, started a new game with a new save file and played a bit. But I can't even load this completely new save.

I researched a bit and there seems to be such a problem when you not have your PS4 as primary, but that's not the case for me.

What is church armor and how do you get it?

I just cant find anywhere to go in old
yharnam
. I got that loot from
the altar and opened the shortcut back
but thats it. Any pointers in spoiler tags pls?

What is church armor and how do you get it?

its a pick-up on a side road in the cathedral ward or old yharnam. found it while exploring the other day

Because the hammer portion has sweetspot mechanics and is a blunt weapon

Axe might just be straight up better in most cases damage wise and its more forgiving if you dont hit dead on

I still use the hammer but I should really play around with the axe some more

I didn't really have a problem with Rom like others have. I beat him on my third attempt and it only took me that long because of the fact that I only had 3 vials the first two times. Went back and farmed for some more and he went down pretty easily. The trick to the ice crystals or whatever is to just move forward+left/right whenever they are launched. He always seems to shoot them a little behind you so if you move forward he can't really hit you with them.

Also, I found some pretty good magic attacks that I leveled Arcane for. One is a
blink dash
another is
a beast roar that stuns enemies
and the last one is
snakes that come from my hands like a certain hunter boss

I beat the BSB on the first try, but the Cleric Beast took me around 6 or 7. It is weird and cool seeing how this game really brings out each player's own type of talents.

Damn that Arcane
hunter
in
Byrgenwerth
is a total bitch. Attempt 4.

Not sure what on earth he sprays at you either lol.

Look at the letters for each stat when looking at the weapon. Weapons use ALL of those stats at rates corresponding to the letter grade for scaling.

Any tips/good weapon to fight the Blood Starved Beast?
Dodge up-left.

Finally beat Father with help. But for future reference what's the strategy
for his second form. I've had no trouble getting him down to a quarter bar, but the beast just kicks my ass. I can't ever escape and heal, always end up trapped in a corner

run for your damn life and throw molotovs at range, if he closes to fast try to dodge and hit him before running for your life again
