Finally beat the third boss
Blood starved beast
after 7 attempts (3 solo, 4 w/ cooperators). Finally had a bad ass hunter with some crazy gear on help me. Our tactic consisted of me, a level 34 basic-ass hunter, running around as bait and drop rope molotovs, while the cooperator would do power attacks. As soon as the
beast goes into it's final, more poisonous form
we started hitting it with molotovs. Fuck you, hard-ass 3rd boss. Eat my axe and give me all your trinkets.

From an art and technical perspective, yes. But the amount of obstacles that are in your way, combined with shit lots of poison environments and non-varied repetitive enemies = bad design.

He is almost easier solo!

I mean after watching the parry video....

Well. This is a problem in every area to be fair. Lol
 
So while I'm loving the game and leveling up, my brother was hyped but his patience is wearing thin. What options do I have with him to play co op with him? Has anyone dealt with trying to play with their friends and is there some sort of process/instruction to easily get into a game with a friend? I know about the password, but any help on actually playing with him?

Oh and I'm a level 19 and he's level 11 so that shouldn't matter, right?
 
looks at big ass cathedral door...pretty sure this is the boss. looks to the left, sees some grass with a cave at the end... looks to the right, sees a path down that leads to a open area with what appears to be a guy weilding some sort of electric mace...looks at blood echoes, 20k+ and I havent leveled in a while. Methinks its time to use these shortcuts and go lvl a bit lol
 
At what point can I get another skill weapon? While the cane/whip is nice, the whip makes me think it can hit from slightly further than it can consistently, wasting a lot of opportunities against bosses.

someone above mentioned a 7 level difference as a max between co-operators

as you progress more
and more weapons become purchaseable at the basin in the hunter's lodge
 
For whatever reason, even though the game shows bullets and blood vials going to storage when I am at max, it's never there when I take a look at my storage. Am I missing something?

I am lvl 33 and have pionts in skill (18) and strength skill is 9. If I stay on my toon I would have to grind out 9 levels of souls, They would be 9 levels at exponentially higher souls retirement per level. My other necessary skills like stami and health would suffer from no upgrades in the meantime. I would be investing all those souls into stregnth.

Your thoughts? Keep my hunter and start training him via strength upgrades?
Or
Reroll a character with high strength


FYI, lvl 34 I think. 17 skill 9

Same, took me 7-8 tries, finally beat BSB with the help of two other players. Any suggestions on where to go now?
That was my 4th Boss. I bought the key that let me access the Boss behind the gated area. So I've already beaten Vicar Amelia..

Also, I must be doing something wrong, because I have my gun equipped, but nothing happens when I hit L2 when my axe is in its regular form. I can't even see my gun on my character. I'm confused.
 
where did I get the Chalice? O_o

just noticed I had it. Also, the insight store only works if you have 10 insights, even if you already bhought stuff in it, thats weird

do you toggle between withdrawing and depositing mode at the storage? And are you looking at the correct item category? they should be there

To deal with those big dudes with the sacks, just charge attack them with a long weapon like 2H axe, or Saw Spear. Bait them into swinging at you, then charge attack them- the range is surprisingly long on those weapons. It will stagger him, so you can back off and regain your stamina. Just watch out for when he powers up because he will come at you a lot faster and more aggressively. Be prepared to dodge. You're not screwed- if you go up the stairs there's a lamp.

Oh and you are right about the area- it seems like the enemies are VERY strong. There's a pig there that one shot me with a charge attack. Even the dogs are mean as hell, and can rip you apart if not careful.

between the echoes on me, and the items that give you echoes I keep forgetting Im picking up, I had enough to go from 29 to 34, so im down to 249 echoes, just how I like it, now I can die with no consequence :p

I spent another hour trying to figure out where to go last night afterwards. No clue.

I have the repeating pistol and if I have one quicksilver round left it does not fire. NOt sure whats happening to your gun, man. Sorry I am still a newb with this game.

Thats the part where I kept dying. It's easy to get his health down until he gets all crazy and chases you down to gnaw on your face giblets

i wish i could help you but i dumped 13 points into arcane to test those useless spells. so basically i am not a single bit stronger than i was at level 50 but now i am 63...
 
Can anyone confirm if you can play offline while downloading patch and then reload and start playing online after patch is installed? Cheers, in advance!

I guess no one has discovered a way to reset stat points like DS2? Must not be in the game. I went to arcane 15, and the bone for sidestepping is pretty cool.

You're probably going to the wrong gate. The one the key unlocks is - exit left out of the safe area, go up the stairs straight ahead, and you see a giant with an axe, keep going up the stairs to your right, and there will be a locked gate- that's the one.

Thankfully on my first try through the area! But I'm completely lost on where to go next, anyone point me in the right direction?

Damn I am now able to coop people till level 49 D: (Level 35 here) and I want to kill him early :/ Anyone in that level range at Cainhurst Castle? Able to help me kill the boss?
