WTF, this game keeps playing with me I swear. Cathedral Ward:
So I leave through the front exit of the cathedral to farm a little more blood echos from those 3 guardians and crows, and after I kill the guardians I go to the right where the pack of crows are. Instead I'm greeted by this tall figure in brown clothes carrying a huge sack and I immediately run away to the hunter's dream. What the hell is that and why is it there!??

Ok, so we begin Day 2 on my character Leona Faulkner. Last we left off, I was raging like a madman over dying over 10+ times to Cleric Beast. After finally putting it down, I managed to make it all the way to some sewer area and unlocked the gate that led back to the giant gate the one enemy bangs on in Central Yarnham. I got to the bottom floor of the sewer where I got swarmed by a bunch of rats and died. So here we are starting back at the lantern near Cleric. Time to rage again!

So while I'm loving the game and leveling up, my brother was hyped but his patience is wearing thin. What options do I have with him to play co op with him? Has anyone dealt with trying to play with their friends and is there some sort of process/instruction to easily get into a game with a friend? I know about the password, but any help on actually playing with him?

Oh and I'm a level 19 and he's level 11 so that shouldn't matter, right?

bump.

so no one is playing with friends?

I dare you to let him kill you.

Almost at 10hours now

Fighting what I think are witches after a forest but backtracked to old yarnham for a while instead

I have still yet to see the bloodstarved beast.

Anyone wanna tell me where it is?

go to old yarnham past the ladder where gattling gun is and enter building on then left
you should be able to find him from there, its a little bit past that area but pretty straight forward. Just make sure you explore the village to find the shortcut.

My collectors edition arrived! The Steelbook is a thing of beauty, my favourite ever. Now the wait til I can play.

Ahh, I remember the days before I played this game. Back before it consumed me and I could sleep at night and get work done at my job. Those were the days....lol

If you're out of blood vials/ammo, you could always farm for Blood Echos and buy them. Though I really dislike that they don't drop stuff after a while, seems like a weird thing to do, esp since they are a main mechanic.

You can lure him back to the cathedral entrance where beasts and corrupted aren't allowed to enter. 1. Spear his hobo, potato sack carrying ass and 2. profit.

I dare you to let him kill you.

What happens if he kills you?!

If someone could give me a vague hint, let me know if I'm on the right path please --

So I beat
blood starved beast
last night, and have since been trying to find my way to where I'm supposed to be, since that appears to be a dead end.

I found a
staircase
, which was hinted at by an npc, but it led to a locked door and the item that gives you access to
the holy blade
. Wrong
staircase
? I also tried going down to the
basement of the tower
, through perilous platforming, which led to a
really fast beast-man
and an area full of baddies that felt way too strong compared to my character (level 25). Wrong area?

I have that
10,000 bloodsoul
key, or whatever it is, and I have a couple other areas to investigate, but it seems like I discovered a shortcut to somewhere I'm not supposed to be yet and should just ignore it.

I've had absolutely zero luck either getting summoned or invading today. Oh, how I miss the functioning online system from DS2 on PC right now.

It's kind of amazing how NPCs have new things to say and show up in different spots. In Cathedral Ward,
the old lady has finally snapped completely after getting over her breakdown. She thought she was my mother and gave me sedatives. When I left and came back, only a note remained on her chair. The whore's neighbor was now interested in finding a safe spot since he had overheard our conversation, but he refused to go to Odeon Cathedral and called me a liar. I went to recruit some church lady, and when I came back...the bastard was there. He seems to think that the whore disapproves of the saint
.

I'm not sure how blood transfusions work, but I got an item after one from one NPC, but then I wasn't allowed to do it with another character that offered. (I wonder if this has consequences later, or if I can just use up that item to allow me to get a new one.)

I also found a secret chest in Odeon Cathedral. That was cool.
What happens if he kills you?!
What will that do?
Only one way to find out.

I was so unprepared for that *event* next to Cathedral Ward when that *guy* killed me.
Suddenly kidnapped in a new location and now getting my butt kicked.

It's like the game said:
You thought this was starting to become familiar and easy? Well, I'ma kick your face in and drag you to the end bitch!

I absolutely LOVED that part

Beating Father G got me feelin like

You mean that 10k key? Whats my other option after third boss?

That's the only one i found to be honest. I think that they're might be another route to enter the same location (
Go through the small pasage to your right in front of the Cathedral Ward lantern, go up the elevator, go left across the platform, run round the lower left side of the building, chase the little imp dude down and you find a deep chasm with wooden beams. I think you might be able to get down there to the bottom somehow but I never managed to do it without dying.
)

Does it make sense to reroll for a better class and other weapon?

Im still before the first boss.
Class doesn't matter and if you feel like your weapon isn't doing it against Cleric Beast (the cane isn't very good early on) you can find a saw spear in the sewers that make the fight go a bit faster.

You are correct.

holy shit the spear gun hunter is the most annoying enemy in the game so far, BY FAR

just wasted all my vials and throwable items on him and still died :/

For someone who has beaten the game. How far am I?
I just beat the one reborn and have the lecture building lamp now. I feel like I should go back and explore before I progress too far.

So there's one locked door I haven't been able to figure out maybe someone here has. It's near Cathedral ward after a giant guy with a flail, in a room with a bunch of vases and a treasure chest

After tearing through Old Yarnham with brutal finesse I got waaaaaaay too confident in my first encounter against BSB. Didn't change my armor, didn't equip Molotovs or antidotes, I didn't even bothering spending the 12k in echoes I had on me first. Got him down to less then 50% health easily, mostly with viceral attacks....then everything changed. Mauled, poison, mauled again. Blood vial. Blood vial. Slashedx3. Blood vial. Dies from poison while fumbling through the inventory for antidotes.

Consider me humbled. Such hubris shan't be repeated.

Ah, so there is another accessible area from the VA boss arena? Thanks!

If you touched the beast skull behind the lantern and watched the cutscene, yes.

I personally think the cave is easier to go to first, then go to the password door.

You also get an essential game system unlock if you go through the cave and beat the boss.

Just killed that
brown sack guy
. The fight wasn't hard but just one of his simple kicks took like 3/4 of my life away. My hands started shaking after that.

What weapon are you using?

There is an item down by the pig in the sewers that lets you buy all the starter weapons.

I have the
cleaver

Im also
that class with all balanced stats but want to switch to veteran

Thx!

I didnt want to go to deep into the sewer yet, shit looked scary
