Can you tell me how I get there? :p

You need to go to the forbidden woods first, there's a cave near the village which should lead you to a murky underground swamp area with some decaying church giants. There's a pathway in here which leads to a large ladder and takes you to Central Yharnam and unlocks a way to get into the second floor of Iosefk's Clinic. In there you'll find an item called "Cainhurst Summons". Once you have it teleport to the Witches Abode, exit the building and go down the pathway until you get to the area with the two big axe wielding armoured guys. Stand here for a little bit and the carriage to take you to Cainhurt Castle shows up.

vitality >> endurance.

I find this holds quite true. Stamina management isn't nearly as critical as the souls game, because each of your actions don't consume all that much. My stam's been sitting at 16 for the longest time and I haven't really reached a point where I desperately need more.

So i have two options to
send npc characters to
Should i
send them to the cathedral or to the clinic
?

This game has me by the balls btw, its everything i hoped for and more. Will it topple DeSO has my favourite FROM game ?
the clinc is evil! No idea about the cathedral tho

Any list of -all- the zones in the game?

I'm sensing that I'm nearing the final boss but the last thing I would want to do is accidentally head over to NG+.

Missable areas, at least to my knowledge are:
Castle Cainhurst, Lecture Building (I think at least?), Nightmare Frontier, and the Upper Cathedral Ward (need a key from Unseen Village). There's also the Abandoned Workshop but that's more of a spot as opposed to a full zone

So, everyone... It's safe to assume that encumbrance is not an issue in this game, and that endurance is still the most important stat?

There is no encumbrance. You are always super rolling, and the i-frames feel closer to Dark Souls 2's upgraded fully upgraded roll rather than Dark Souls 1's (though roll distance feels closer to DkS1)

I want to read through these threads but discovering stuff on your own in the game is so exhilarating! I'm still in Central Yharnam and haven't beat the first boss, but when I decided to avoid the bridge and found a bunch of new areas I started freaking out.

Cainhurst too, no?

spoilers for clinic and sending NPCs to both including the outcome.
Second play through. I ended up sending the two women to cathedral where they've remained alive ~1/2 way through the game. The man in rags I sent to the clinic AFTER beating the woman there. Ended up getting the same reward, beast rune, in both cases. The elderly woman in the cathedral is now giving me items.

The game should give insight back when you don't find a coop partner. I used four insights for nothing. At that rate I will run out of insight soon and never beat BSB.

ugh 1 hit away from defeating
Rom
got too greedy with my stamina management, at least I know he isn't that tough now

Yeah, already bought the Hunter gear.

Now I reached this bridge (I assume it's something related to some boss, something I read here but wasn't paying attention). Now I'm even more scared... wonder if there's any save point nearby, because I got a bunch of Blood Echoes and don't wanna die :(

Edit: Welp, died to the fucking giant dog things :(

Aight, seems like you need a safety net to gain confidence.

What you will do is this: Run through the whole section, ignore the villagers at the fire, use the stairs on the left to run to the area with the big guy. The villagers will probably ignore you if you go there and head back to their spots, so you should be safe.

Now, you can either try to kill the big dude or you just go the stairs, wait a second until the enemy patrol shows up (I think 2 guys + 1 dog), and then run up the stairs to the bridge.

On the bridge, run through the two wolves if possible, and keep an eye on the left side of the bridge; a villiger is hiding behind some rocks. Kill or ignore him, run down through the house, run down the stairs and head left, ignore the villager with the sword and run outside the house. Run towards the stairs in front of you, kill or ignore the villager, run up the whole way and you will find a lever that opens up the shortcut.

That should give you a confidence boost. If you feel weak, kill the enemies in the house and rinse and repeat until you feel strong enough. :)

Haha ahh damnit I died taking a screenshot
I'm sorry but that's just perfectly tragic. Hopefully you didn't lose a shitload of blood echoes.

Yeah I got the axe! I will remember that!

Yeah.. I'm OK dying, but this part (the second save) is so fucking long and the enemies in the middle are not really strong, they just take forever to take down :(
you'll get better, hang in there!

In the experience of this game, the bosses vary sooo much between each person.

Vicar must be the easiest boss I faced so far, along with the Cleric, I beat both 1st try.

Father and BSB took me quite a few attempts. I couldnt heal through the poison fast enough.
Cleric took me more than Father G. Weird how that differs between players. Would love to see some data on this.

those wolves are brutal early. just keep leveling up and getting to know the game, you'll get the combat down.

Anybody know if Eileen will always attack me after I attack her once? I did it as I thought she was just an enemy and I only went back once and she immediately attacked me. Did I pretty much ruin that quest line?

Something I just found regarding a woman in H
ypergaol

I approached her again and she noticed my outfit (mentioned it was garbs of the church), offering a Madman's Knowledge and asking for a place to stay. I was wearing the Tomb Prospector set, but was carrying the Black Church set.

People rocking the Holy Blade, how are your stats looking?
17 Str, 14 skill, 8 arcane :0. It scales really well to strength and supposedly arcane when you power it to +4, (B str, B arcane) but I see no differences to my attack when I increase arcane. Can someone explain this to me?

So this is my first souls game I made it past about 2 hours into.. and after about 40 attempts at Boss #4
Vicar Amelia
I decided to give up and start over yesterday morning, and I switched from a strength build guy with the hunter axe to a skill build girl with the cane. I just wanted to screw around a little and see if I had gotten better through my hours of play.

The cane really really sucks at low levels. I ended up getting the saw right away and using that for quite a while. I had a lot more trouble on the Cleric Boss (like 6 attempts or so) then I did with my axe guy. Anyway, I cruised through boss 2-3 because scaling started catching up with my cane whip and I mastered the parry and visceral attack of both of them on my previous playthough and before you know it (like 3 hours) I was at the same point and I have a new main. I managed to kill my nemesis Boss #4 on my 3rd attempt with this character, but I think it's because I had inadvertantly learned all her tells while banging my head against the controller previously.

I think I got through 7 bosses yesterday with my skill based character
Downed Rom, the Vacuous Spider right before I went to bed
and I hit level 50 with her. I've been absolutely loving my new favorite weapon
Ludwig's Holy Blade
and I'd recommend it to everyone since it scales with both Str and Skill.

I think I'm upgrading this game from Game of the Year to one of my favorite games ever. I'm already planning to run through all the other souls games whenever I get done, but I don't know when that will be.

Sorry for the wall of text. I'm just excited and I'm really loving this game.

Thanks a lot!!

If that's the case I'd like it explained as well!

Anyone in the UK got their CE from Amazon yet? My delivery just got updated on the site an hour ago to tomorrow... And I'm gutted :( really thought I would get it today!

So this sucks. I died yesterday, lost just over 5000 echoes.
Got impatient, died to the troll on the bridge who bowls over the group of guys with the flaming ball. It was dumb.

Anyway, I saved and shutdown. Came back to the spot where I died this morning. No echoes. The same enemies came at me, figured one of them picked up my echoes. They died again, but not to me.
To the troll.
No echoes. So then I killed the troll. No echoes.

Question is, can you not regain your echoes if you shutdown? Or did I lose mine potentially because an enemy picked them up and was then killed not by me but by another enemy?

So, those Blood Vials and Molotovs that the messengers sell in the Hunter's Dream: Are they unlimited? Can I buy them all the time there, or do they sell only a limited amount?

Guess what just arrived :lol

They sell an unlimited amount. However the costs of the items goes up as you level up IIRC.
