How do I use the rune ? Found one that get's me more blood echoes per kill.
You need to get the altar tool and go back to the Dream
I was getting ao frustrated with this when I first started. I almost gave up on it. But holy shit am I glad I kept going. Once I figured it out, it's givin me some of the most satifying moments I've in gaming in recent memory. I'm hooked. I'm thinking of picking up the souls games now.
Do eeeeeeeeeeeeet
Apperantly, there are two types of bloodshard? One is bloodstone shard and another is twin bloodshard?
Twin bloodshard is for higher-grade fortifying

it is ABSURD how much worse I am at this game compared to dark souls

This game rewards being super aggressive and hitting parries.

I played DS1&2 super conservative, and almost always with a shield.

I found and bought the Holy Sword last night. So far, I'm not impressed with the damage output, but I see those scaling letters. That, and its moveset is two weapons I know extraordinarily well from the Souls games.

I just have to not get crushed by Vicar Amelia again. Maybe the sword will help? I dunno. I've gotten good at dodging her attacks, but it just takes SO LONG to get her health down. Invariably, I make a mistake and get squished.

I still can't "play online". Always gives me no network available message and boots me to main menu. I've been offline since yesterday when I got the game. :(

Aight, seems like you need a safety net to gain confidence.

What you will do is this: Run through the whole section, ignore the villagers at the fire, use the stairs on the left to run to the area with the big guy. The villagers will probably ignore you if you go there and head back to their spots, so you should be safe.

Now, you can either try to kill the big dude or you just go the stairs, wait a second until the enemy patrol shows up (I think 2 guys + 1 dog), and then run up the stairs to the bridge.

On the bridge, run through the two wolves if possible, and keep an eye on the left side of the bridge; a villiger is hiding behind some rocks. Kill or ignore him, run down through the house, run down the stairs and head left, ignore the villager with the sword and run outside the house. Run towards the stairs in front of you, kill or ignore the villager, run up the whole way and you will find a lever that opens up the shortcut.

That should give you a confidence boost. If you feel weak, kill the enemies in the house and rinse and repeat until you feel strong enough. :)
Thanks for the feedback! I finally got to kill the two wolves. Ended up making the shortcut and back to the Hunter's dream to take a rest because this is very stressing hahaha!

But thanks again. And yeah I feel kinda weak because if I'm even fighting two guys and I happen to miss a hit, they will usually destroy me before I get to do anything! But being able to kill those two wolves was great. I guess I'll need to kill them every time I go through the bridge though, which is going to be painful...

I'm sorry but that's just perfectly tragic. Hopefully you didn't lose a shitload of blood echoes.

you'll get better, hang in there!

Cleric took me more than Father G. Weird how that differs between players. Would love to see some data on this.

those wolves are brutal early. just keep leveling up and getting to know the game, you'll get the combat down.
Is there a way to level up before killing the first boss? I got some 9000 Blood Echoes that I don't wanna lose, but I don't know how to spend them either!

I thought high insight just made some regular enemies have glowing weapons that caused Frenzy. Does it really make bosses harder?

I really dont this it does.
I had such a hard time on bosses when I had around 10 insight
I now have 30 and the game seems easier.

don't jump to conclusions people.

I dont understand what insight even does.

Should I be using these madman's knowledges
Insight is a currency. You use to summon coop players and in a special store that can only be accessed when you have 10 or more insight
Higher insight also means
the game gets harder

Holy shit going through the game a second time with Saw Cleaver and it's like cake. I mowed down BSB and VA in the span of about 10 minutes. Destroyed both of them before the duration on my Fire Paper was even up :lol Don't think I've died once to a boss yet.

Can I duplicate my save file? If so can I for example try to use insight to get help on a boss battle and if it doesn't work then go back to the other save file where I still have the extra insight left over?

ludwig holy blade get!

suggestions on where to go next after killing BSB and Amelia? before Amelia there was a path to the left with a cave, and a path leading down to the left where the hunters were

Sony is probably already writing the contract for DLC for Bloodborne.Seems like a hit for them. Friendlist is very Bloodborne heavy.

Will dupe glitch be that much of a problem? Of course idk about all of the items in the game but most of the ones I have that could be annoying to fight against in pvp have a low amount that can be kept on your person at any time.

I've had the most trouble with him as well. I baited him to the wooden stairs and and riposted til dead. Occasionally, he would also get caught up in the flames which helped.

Yeah I got him pretty low with a bunch of Molly's while he was coming up the stair then he retreated and I followed and it went to shit from there. It also doesn't help that it's all steamy in the area where hhe/she is and the battling gun guy will fuck you up if you go too far into it.

Killed the two hunters to the left of Amelia (if you teleport to Grand Cathedral lamp post)

First was easy. The second took longer due to that fucking gun of his. Still took him down with just a single vial left. Need to farm to get those back.

Take a right outside from where you beat Amelia and head into the cave and into the woods there. You will eventually find Hemwick Charnel Lane and can warp there from the headstone to the left of the one you normally use in the Hunter's Dream.

you mean right? unless youre coming FROM amelia, then I guess its left :)

Wait, seriously?

I don't understand the reasoning behind that.

I assume that
Knowledge makes you crazy in this game or something or if you have lots of insight, then that means you aren't doing much co-op for help or doing enough co-op to farm insight
Then again this could all be wrong.

Killed Gascoigne solo, feels good!

Yep, was close for me.
Till he does his SSJ beastmode it was no problem, but then he is just Manus Tier with little time to breathe between his attacks. His one side kick is mean. You thought you dogded him and then comes his food to the side.
Really loved this fight.
