Anyone had issues playing co-op with a friend?

I tried a bunch yesterday using our resonating/beckoning bells and using the same network password, but the game never seems to connect us.

We are standing in th same location too.

It's not a glitch. Enemies sometimes have your blood so you need to kill them near where you died.

Edit: I quoted wrong, this is in response to lost souls.

Wahoo finally beat a boss first try! It's was (9th for me)
the one reborn

Yeah not sure if online is busted I can't get summoned anywhere

sleep deprivation is the way to play Bloodborne aparently, since the last 2 bosses (BSB and Amelia) I 1 shot and 2 shot respectively, and Ive been up for 25 hours >_>

Im about to keel over to be fair, not sure I have it in me to tackle that cave to the right of amelias place

im so shit at parrying I cant do anything
is there a death counter in this game? I must be 50+ in about three hours now

I died about 10 times to the first boss and probably 20 or more to the second boss, if i didn't beat the second one soon i was going to quit the game entirely. I'm bad at Souls games, i got by with ranged magic and blocking most of the time, taking both away i'm just awful at this game, i'm constantly dodging into sweeping attacks or rolling too much and then not having stamina. Combine all the dying with the load times....it's more frustration than fun by far. I do like exploring the world though.

one time i died in a hall of chalice dungeon i can not find my blood stain anywhere. So i simply give up. but later when i simply passing by that hall, i activated a trap which spawn 4 enemys. One of them had my souls.

Could be that instead of "nearby enemy picks stain up" the game randomly gives it to an enemy in an specific area range, even if the enemy is behind a way you haven't unlocked. So you think it has to be one of the roaming enemies while it is one in some hidden path you don't know.

I really hate the health pack system in this game.

What are you supposed to do when you use them all fighting a boss then die and have none left to try again?

You are not suppose to use them all the time. When you get hit you have a chance to regain most of your lost health by attack right after.

I really wish they had lit the actual game levels instead of relying on the torch so much. The game is beautiful walking around with the torch, but quite flat and drab looking when not.

How in the hell am I supposed to get out of Unseen Village? is there a lamp post nearby where I can cheese run? Those large enemies have crazy amounts of HP and the hounds always overwhelm me and do crazy damage when I try to fight them.

Super easy boss, but an incredible area awaits. I actually think this is the boss they decided to give you a breather with, lol.

Yesterday I beat the third(?)
Blood-Starved Beast
boss, and I've been wandering around. I was eventually killed by a large monster and it triggered a cutscene where I woke up in a
Prison Cell/Castle
. Am I playing this out of order? When I go back to the Hunter's Dream, it appears like I missed an area in between.

The place I'm in seems scary, and full of that creature that initially killed me. Should I go back to the old areas and find a different path? Where?

You're supposed to go get more. It's a trade, you get to carry way more consumables than in Dark Souls but as stated, they are consumables

You have to be mindful about using them instead of just chugging them down hoping to outlast a boss, if you can't shave off his HP don't waste them and just die. Farming them is super easy and fast regardless

I always have the handheld lamp equipped unless I'm going in for a stealth attack.

I am new to the Souls games and as much as I love Bloodborne I also hate it. I have played at least 3-4 hours and am still stuck in the first area of the game. I will play for about 15 minutes make a mistake and get sent back to the same damn checkpoint WTF. I have not encountered the first boss yet and I must really suck at this game. I never make it very far and keep getting placed back at the first checkpoint, what am I doing wrong? I would love to progress but can't seem to get out of this area. Any tips or advice? Because at this point I am ready to get rid of this game.

Also read this article and it pretty much sums up about how I feel not quite there yet but pretty damn close.

the game's started glitching out on me. at least, I think those are glitches. after beating the hemwick
witch
I wanted to warp back but it wouldn't let me. so I ran all the way back to where the area started, tried to warp back and nothing. maybe quit/reload might help, did that and *poof* I was in hunter's dream.

later I warped back to the cathedral ward, killed a couple of enemies and while walking up a flight of stairs, again *poof* I was in hunter's dream.

...that's not part of the game, is it?

You're not missing anything, that's the only checkpoint (besides the one at the very start) until you beat your first boss. The key is to open shortcuts. Have you made it to the bridge with the big dogs? If so you're close to reaching a shortcut.

There is a lamp at the top of the stairs you go up, you just have to get past one of those mobs...if you have the threaded cane, transform to whip and r2 attack will stun them while covering a wider range than just the cane stab, stick and move, they aren't too bad.

I think the Crow Lady is bugged or I screwed up at some point.

I met her in the first area she appeared, talked to her until she gave me that item and that pose. But from what I've read she was then supposed to appear near cathedral ward which never happened and then after you beat VA she was supposed to appear at the location of the second boss fight where, according to what I read, you can help her fight some NPC hunter, but that did also never happen. Did this happen to anyone else? Is there a way to meet her in another location? I really want her armor set :(

After engaging in fight with VA you need to go to the place you fought father G. , she will be there. Help her or let her die to get early access to her gear and weapons, but you will lock yourself out from the oath hunter rune. If you help her the next encounter will happen in the place where you fought VA but it only occurs after engaging (defeating?) Rom. I have posted a cheese method how to complete the last part of her quest line.

There is a lamp up the stairs.

Funny story. I saw the first ending last night. Then reloaded to try the fight of the boss and couldn't do it an hour later. Woke up this morning, got ready for work, and then destroyed it on my first try. Dat power sleep.

anyone else doing a noble scion/blood tinge build? started my new run and wow, bullets actually make a dent in enemies.

Interesting. I have not paid much attention to blood tinge, but I will consider it more strongly for another build.

I plan on doing that, found a weapon (not a gun) which scales s with bloodtinge. Combo that with a powerful gun and should be a fun play through.

any tips on how to play coop with a friend? We have different region of the game (but same id region), he's level 48 and my level is 40, we set passwords the same and still every time we try we cannot find each other.

Me too. I feel like they set up a certain early area just for the purpose of farming health packs, you can easily get 2 + 2, and buy 2 more with your souls = 6 per run. If you do it perfectly, anyway. You can even get your bullets back nearby.

Basically, I just did this run 6 times last night for some breathing room.

If you ignore the hard enemies there's a few enemies that are easy to kill there and give you a ton of souls.
There's also quite a few of those spiders that drop twin blood shards near those easy to kill enemies, and the giant pigs are just backstab magnets that give you thousands of souls. Ignore the santas though, they'll kick your ass
But to answer your question, yes you're not supposed to be finishing that area yet. The next area
is accessed via the chapel and is easiest to access if you buy that 10,000 soul emblem from the shop.
