How many locations are at the second tombstone? Currently have unlocked a few lamps at the third tombstone but I feel like I am missing some at the second tombstone.

Just finished the game. It was a bit shorter than I expected. Took me 23 hours, but I missed one place,
Cainhurst Castle
, even though I tried to explore every nook and cranny. Found all the other optional bosses though. Still have to try Chalice dungeons too.

Random thoughts:

Really liked the combat. However, I feel like the evade was a bit too fast, especially chaining multiple evades in a row. Combined with very fast healing, I completed all the bosses on my first try apart from
Darkbeast Paarl
and even that was mostly due to being there way too early. Still, boss fights were intense so this doesn't really bother me.

I miss the environmental variety of the previous Souls games. While there were some very pretty places they weren't as distinct as before. Also, you can't really make a perfect game if it doesn't include a lava and an ice level.

This one was completely silly of me... I completed the game without realizing that weapons can be bought from the normal vendor, instead of the one who sells things for insight. Oh well...

Enemy spoiler:
Damn those frenzy inducing brain tentacle things.
:(

You one shot every boss in the game?

Goddamn you're good

Reload the area, the item will be where he spawns.

Exit game and reload.

Reload the game. When you start back up, you'll be in the same spot but the drop should be accessible.

Quit and reload your save. Loot should be right where he was standing before falling off.
I can just quit from menu and reload exactly where I'm standing, right? It won't take me back to the bonfire thing?

dayum

upgraded my cane to +3 and mainly leveling up Skill (alongside Vitality and Endurance)

Once you get to
Old Yarham
you'll be damn glad you have that whip with you

Axe/saw is for casuls

When you select a Chalice Dungeon, what does the "spirit" (?) icon above the word Depth mean? There are 5 over the one I'm looking at so I'm curious.

The documentation for Chalice Dungeons is very poor atm, most people are concentrated on the main quest so it'll take awhile before we know the exact nature of the mechanics behind it. One thing is for sure, it wasn't just a throwaway mode that FROM came up with, some Chalice Dungeons are harder than anything in the main quest.

This is exactly what I'm doing too. I got owned by cleric beast and went back, upgraded my cane, went in and spanked him. The weapon is pretty awesome after some upgrades but it is difficult to use at first.

Is there an use to the Third Umbilical Cord item ? mid-game spoiler :
the item description talks about the moon and hunter's dream, and given what happen with the moon/sky, especially with the old reborn boss, is there any significance to it ? Or is that just some flavor text and it just gives insight

How bad were the loading if after installing the update it still takes ages?

Oh yeah, uk GAF represent. Dying over and over and over again.

Regarding the game breaking bug.

But to avoid the bug altogether, do not initiate a multiplayer session in the game's Forbidden Woods area by using either the Small Resonant Bell or Sinister Resonant Bell items.

Players have reported (and From Software has apparently confirmed) that the Lunarium Key, which would normally be found in Byrgenwerth, won't appear because of a multiplayer bug. So, best to avoid doing any multiplayer in Forbidden Woods until that's fixed.

From Software and Sony say a hotfix for Bloodborne, version 1.02, is incoming and will fix that issue. Expect it sometime next week.

I go up to a well that looks like it could be a secret path or just a drop to my death, I drop a shining coin stops pretty early I think ok I can live, see notes saying take a step forward. I LOST ALL MY SOULS! I hate everyone.

Ok now that it isn't 4am (my time) I will ask again how exactly the Chalice Dungeons work. I was told they are random but I went into two separate ones and the first floor was exactly the same.

There are 3 of those items.
END GAME SPOILERS
Using all of them before you kill the final boss will unlock the real final boss.

Quick question

At what point does the threaded cane scale A with skill?

+7 or 8 IIRC

Has to do with one of the endings. There are like four of them throughout the game.

You need three for the true ending.

How can I loot
the turret operating hunter in Old Yharnam if I have happened to drop him down on to a railing / mid-air that I can't reach? If I die, will. The loot remain there? What if I log out? Will the loot spawn in an accessible spot if I reload?

Third boss is absolutely eating my lunch. Have summoned help 3 times now (1 person each time) and even when it gets to the 20% left range and I try to play it safe, the enemy just goes "time to end this" and comes and stun-locks me to death. I can't strafe, side step, back step, dive forward.... it's like the attack is 360 degree and fifty yards. Ive watched youtube videos and they just make it seem like a stroll in the park.

First time Im starting to really get frustrated as I know I shouldnt be having THIS much trouble with this guy.

Had the game crash on me last night during the intro to the Cainhurst castle boss. I closed the application and picked right up where I was, but damn, I've had like 2 dark souls saves corrupt because I lost power while it was saving. Panicked pretty hard lol.

Any real penalty going with a Quality build?

The Ludwig's Holy Blade seems like it'll work best pumping both STR and SKL to 25, so that you get the full benefit of both before any diminishing returns set in.

You need three of them to get the true final boss/ending.
One you get manadory from a story boss. One you can find in a secret area that's near the chappel tower.. The third one can be obtained actually from two different spots that I know of. Either A. from killing the woman in the clinic once you get back there. Or B. The woman that can go to the chapel area, she eventually goes a bit crazy and can kill her for one also.
