Unlike Demon's there's a cap so I don't get why you can't start with 3 or 5 to get you going at a checkpoint. It wouldn't be another herb situation.

I think I've only died once or twice cause I ran out. Quantity never seems to be the issue with staying alive.

Even so they're incredibly easy to farm in the beginning.

Mid/late game spoilers

Oh god so
now I have the crown that "reveals illusions" should I treck through the whole game to look for new secrets, or is it just used to join the vilebloods?

Been waiting outside the
Ghosts of Yharnam
fight with my bell rung for like a half an hour why can I not find anyone. No password even.

Easiest place to farm Bloodstones? I want to level this Cane up as soon as possible lol.

if you are good at taking out the Watcher Giants ( think that is there name ) there are 2 together inside the fountain area outside the Cathedral wArd area along the path back to Amelia. They often gave me blood shards. Which made my 8-9 fights against Amelia more tolerable as I kept getting more and more stones.

Fighting the (Old Yarnham spoiler):
Gatling Gun guy
on top of that tower was one of those dynamic epic moments that this game dishes out that makes it so awesome. Him and I were trading blows back and forth then all of a sudden, he flies into a prime position for me to knock him off, so I did and won easily lol

Awesome.

Okay, but you're a souls veteran. I don't think they're worried about you in the first place. The fact that it could happen at all makes it a downgrade. Farming is worse than not farming, no matter how easy.

It's only there for Demon Souls nostalgia. It's a step back by definition.

This is legitamtely the first game I've ever loved where I don't get frustrated from dying constantly.

Also, I love Fire Paper. Need more!

How far into the game are you?

Old yarnham the werewolves

lol Sorry. I just got one beating FG so I have no idea where those places are yet lol.

No it's definitely an issue haha. Even if it wasn't a hassle (which it is for most players) it's nothing but a step back. You should start with a few automatically like estus. This accomplishs the same as estus (limited heals per life) but adds in a stupid farming component. That's not smart.

Eh, I don't know if I agree. It's the same as Demon's and I actually preferred the Demons (and thus, BB's) system much more then the Estus. I like the limit at 20 too, unlike Demons which was up to 99.

I've been stocked at 99 vials for sometime and I've had to attempt most bosses multiple times (5-7 times).

Plus, early game has some of the best places to farm them too.

...

I broke my weapon, and I haven't beaten the cleric beast.... Am I boned, even by Bloodborne standards, can't see a blacksmith anywhere.

You can repair it using blood echoes in the Hunter's Dream.

****

INSIGHT QUESTION. I can't watch that Youtube, but is there any proof / text / written breakdown of what it does? I have 40 (due to Chalice dungeons + playing) and 21 Madman's Skulls.

One thing I did notice that when I hit 40? Horror....and spoiler...to the right of the Cathedral, I can now see
Amygdala hanging onto the inside of the building where she grabbed me and warped me to the Nightmare the first time. I went back immediately after she did it the first time, couldn't see her, but now with 40? I can.
What ELSE does it do?

I wonder when we will ge a thread about the lore of this game. No one is talking about the story

I desperately want one to pop up.

lol Sorry. I just got one beating FG so I have no idea where those places are yet lol.

you are close to the cathedral ward then if you just beat FG. Next area.

you'll eventually find what i am referring to. Early on though, not sure. Not many things gave me shards in the first areas. Even the werewolves.

So just beat the first boss.

Question, hunter set or yharnam hunter set?

And should I be upgrading my saw and or pistol? I already +1 the saw.

When more than 15 people beat the game we will discuss it.

Actually I have been taking screenshots perhaps I should compile a lore and legends of Bloodborne OT.

People talk about the story but I haven't really got anything out of it so far. Not that I'm not loving the game - maybe I'm just bad at reading into environmental clues.

Just feel like a guy running around killing stuff

thank you based
Hemwick Charnel Lane
lantern >_<

fuck all of you riflemen out there in the world, undead or otherwise. fuck all of your rifles too!

This game is gorgeous, I'm sure I got a clip of me saved where I'm trying to take a screen grab of textures and it almost got me killed lol.

Some thing jumped on my head.

They really need to patch in a different loading screen. everytime I die I have the pleasure of seeing "Bloodborne" ghosted across my plasma. It doesn't last long, but still. White text on black background for 30-40 seconds... not cool.

Or just patch the sinister loading time.

If you're saying I'm a pro or something I"m not, I'm dying a lot. Just deaths never come because I run out, but because I done got fucked up and put in a spot where I can't get a heal off.

I'm still trying to shake the urge of dodging away after getting hit and drinking one since the correct response it to counter attack.

When you change armor, it will show either red or blue numbers. The blue numbers are it letting you know you are increases your stats in that area, red numbers mean it will lower that stat.

I believe the Yharnam Set is much, much better.

Beat Father G on the 4th try.

Those last 60 or so seconds was...

The armor is six of one half a dozen of another in this game, use whatever you want. You should probably level the saw since gun aren't really for damage.

Hit level 111 with the build I want to try.

50 Vitality
40 Endurance
25 Str
25 Skill
6 Bloodtinge
15 Arcane

Can't dupe the insight item for some reason since my pebble is stuck on the item that gives you blood echoes. So the most I can get my insight to is 50 right now

You did all that leveling using the dup glitch?

Really? That's pretty impressive that you haven't run out yet then haha. Do you go back to areas a lot? I got stuck after the Cathedral boss and I was so annoyed that I just started over rather than going back to kill giants a lot.

Just beat W
atchdog
in the chalice dungeon. It wasn't too tough since it staggered easily.

Couldn't figure out when to stagger him with the gunshot. I staggered him with three axe blows from a combo, but then got carried away, stayed underneath, and suffered for it. Still won, though.

Real question is I got to Depth 3 and it didn't appear there was an exit? The chest in the chest room was more elaborate than the prior two, though, so figured that meant fin.

The altars all seem to use the same material, so the numbered ritual altars refers to difficulty? If so, anyone figure out ranges yet?

need 10 insight

Thank you. Just getting my feet wet, really. Very imposing game. Even getting that will probably take me a while. I'm pretty fascinated with the game despite my deficiency in skill compared to people that are used to the games and just mowing through the content lol

This is actually a very good point. You are thrown in to the story rather abruptly and have no clue what is going on. Your interactions and progress affects the game and opens up small slivers of insight over what is actually happening.

I love this type of story telling in games, it is not for everyone and it really should not be in a lot of games but damn if it does not feel like being part of a HP Lovecraft story then I don't know what does.
