They all scale occurring to your stats, so those are misleading. For example, Ludwig's Holy Blade is setting at "D" for strength, but the more you put into your attribute the higher it gets raised. I'm sitting at a "B" for that weapon.

What? No, unless they totally redid how they do things. The grade scaling changes as you upgrade a weapon.

Guys, calm down. Please. Plenty of people have already beaten the game on GAF :)

I took my sweet as time. If you watched the stream, you know how many times I just stood still and complemented the environments.

Yeah. Dark Souls was my first experience with the franchise and took me 70 hours. This one only took me 28 and some change but I've gotten better obviously. Granted I didn't finish the Chalice stuff and I think I'm missing one additional boss.

Yoshichan's skill level in gaming is not to be doubted. The dude is like a zillion times better than me at Dark Souls. I would fear ever encountering his phantom in my game. Would probably piss myself. He'd be like a NG+++++++++++++ boss where you only get one soul per every ten kills or some shit.

Haha there's no horror quite like YoshiChan.

So is there any reason to keep the Gold Pendant? I know that
if you use it, you get a blood gem
but I just want to know if there's an NPC that needs it.

I have a feeling that all of those things are meant to just be turned into Blood Gems.

Thanks. That did it. Btw where do i use the key I bought for 10k echoes? It says the cathedral on the item description, but i never found a door that it opens

It opened the gate that leads into the area with the two giants. I assume you came another way and opened it from the other side?

I'm seriously terrible at this game, spent about five hours with it and haven't progressed at all. Just get to that bridge with the two wolves and they wreck me every time. Any tips?

For those eager to know what I think of the game so far (and haven't been watching my stream), let this be a hint for you:

There is only one Souls-game that made me instantly go to NG+ as soon as I finished the game.

- With Demon's Souls, I beat the game, then I instantly beat the game again, and again. I beat NG+ and NG++ without resting.

- With DkS1, I beat the game, complained about it on GAF, and didn't touch until PC-version.

- With DkS2, I beat the game, went to bed, then continued with NG+.

Bloodborne reminds of Demon's Souls, in the way that I'm continuing with NG+ immediately after beating it.

Ok after 10 tries to beat the machine gun dude on the roof I need a break! I cant beat this dude. I also have no luck ever getting help summoning people. I have wasted 10 insight or so looking for people and no one is ever found.... Looks Like I need to finish this fight alone...

molotovs, pebbles, parrying, and back stabs are your friend there. Use a pebble to lure one to you and then use back stabs, parrys, or molotovs to defeat it.

I am... flattered, to say the least :'3

You must have not seen to many load screens. I will probably spend more time looking at the load screen then it took you to complete the game.

I'm not so sure. I wasted 10 bullets trying to time his attack for a parry and all it did was get me slapped silly. I mean I killed him my 2nd time around, but still I didn't learn anything :/

Keep an eye on it's attacks and dodge, it will get tired after swinging wildly then attack accordingly... rinse and repeat.

Fuk this game is hard, made it to the Father, easily harder than Taurus Demon, Giant or Phalanx. Decided to take a break because I spent 3 hours exploring everywhere I can, got the Hunter Armor.

Going to laugh when my friend plays this because he's been always linking articles saying that the game will be easier.

I like the combat style being different but I miss the estus flask and the bullets not recharging at the "bonfire".

Quick Question: To be beckoned to another hunters world, I understand that the summoning hunter must not have fought the boss yet but must the potentially summoned hunter must have not killed the boss yet as well? I'm trying to co-op with a friend and it's proving to be impossible. We've set the same password and parameters for online, so I'm a little confused as to why it's not working and what I previously mentioned seems to be the only thing that could be causing this hangup. Please help!

lol, beat
The Old Reborn
but died at the same time. Thank god the bosses still stay dead.

So far this game has been everything I hoped for. A solid 10/10 for me.

On the second character that I made (that beat the game), I died a total of 48 times. That's including the bullshit and super-tired-fall-of-cliff-deaths.

Shoot the basterds as soon as you get on the roof.

Could be due to how short it is in comparison to the other Souls games though. How long did Demon's/Dark Souls take you to finish?

Demon's took me 33 hours while Dark took 40 hours to finish, and that's going around exploring shit a decent amount.

No, the person being summoned has no restrictions like that. Are you sure you're set to worldwide? I couldn't get it working last night myself, but I think I was too many levels above the person trying to summon me. I heard somewhere in this thread the span is 7 levels or something? No idea.

Pick your battles, not every enemy in the game has to be fought. Use shortcuts and alternate routes to avoid these enemies if they are giving you trouble. I'm a souls vet, but I know when to leave an enemy alone for the sake progress. Use the 2nd floor exit of the darkly lit house to access the bridge instead.

Make sure not to get seen by the werewolves though, unlike most enemies they seem to not have a tether and will follow you as far as it takes!

Demon's Souls took me around 55h. (first experience and all that).
Dark Souls took me around 40h.
You wants some pic of it after it falls?
Yes please!

I tried that a few times and it didnt work. I tried cheesing him by annoying him then walking down the two ladders which has worked for some but not me. In some games hell walk off the ledge.

Also I cleared out the church below first so hes instantly angry at me!

if you get super frustrated and have a pistol you can lock on him from near the top of ladder and then go up and spam pistol shoot him off the roof. If the loot disappears just exit the zone and come back and it'll be there

Damn ok, I think we're like 30 levels apart. Thanks for the response. Appreciate it

Just beat the boss in (optional area around mid/endgame)
Nightmare Frontier. Amygdala was pretty creepy looking but the fight wasn't that difficult till the last part. I ended up shooting it to death

Man, I love Chalice dungeons. The 2nd tier of Pthumeru dungeons are already a huge improvement and its barely the start of the mode.

So need a short help where to go. Cleared the whole area in Old Yharnam and
killed gatling guy -he fell :( - and killed the other hunter. Entered the hall with the skin thing hanging down the roof (which looks like a boss i saw in a video ... also opened up the mini shortcut up to the area where the other hunter was. Also already exlored the sideways and "secret" ways where you find some loot and stuff (charred hunter stuff). So what next? Can't remember a way in old Yharnam i haven't checked
Thinking about taking my 14k souls home to stock up on ammo and lvl up weapon and 1 lvl but what then?

Be cheap, it's what I did. The momment you're up that ladder (try to be quick, so he's not too much in the center yet) fire your blunderbuss at him. And then do it again. And again. And again. Repeat nonstop until he falls, you'll put him one step closer to the edge each time ;P

So, those black things that are... like a bunch of heads with many legs, that run away from you when they see you... are they like this game crystal geckos or something? I got one and it droped just a bunch of blood stone shards, so I'm not sure if was just chance.

Why cant we reset/respawn enemies simply by touching the lantern?I wouldnt mind the loading times if we could just do that

Also there should be an option to travel between lanterns

Wow I just got to
the spider boss. That's a weird one. Lost to it once then helped a guy beat it. Kinda trivial when you have someone else to distract the spiders.
