Bloodborne |OT2| Praise The Moon

Seems a dupe glitch has been found, and its easy enough for anyone to do with little effort. I don't think it will ruin anything other than arguably the experience of the person that uses it, since there isn't exactly a PvP scene and Coop is still wonky.

Defeated Father Gascoine on my third attempt!

First time I accidently ran into him and I wasn't quite prepared. Second time was more figuring out his attack patterns. Third time
I beat him easily while only getting hit a couple of times. I've almost mastered riposting with the blunderbuss and I feel like that is imperative to defeating him. During his second form I played the music box, got a few good hits on him, he lunged at me once more and I riposted and executed him. I found him a bit easier than the Cleric Beast which I defeated on my second attempt.
Any tips for riposting? It seems to be random whether it works for me. Do you need to fire just before they hit you or anytime during their attack?

Probably a silly place to ask but how is the game? It has grabbed my attention and interest and I would like to check it out but I did not like Dark Souls gameplay/combat. I found it very dull, lackluster and janky. Is Bloodborne any different or is it basically Demon's Souls 4 like I think it is?

It's pretty much a Souls game with combat being a bit faster paced. No shields or blocking, but you can equip firearms which can be used to parry.

Well, there is a shield in the game, but it's just there as a joke.

If you didn't like Dark Souls, you might not like this. But check out some gameplay videos. The setting is different, I know some people who didn't like the fantasy setting are loving this Victorian setting.

To all the people having trouble with co-op/invading, I think you underestimate the skill level of everybody playing this game. I haven't had any trouble with co-op for Father Gasoline/BSB, probably because most people are still early on - the game's only a few days old people! As for PVP and invading, people are probably still getting used to builds and weapons. I'd expect that to start taking off more in another week or two.

Nobody answered me. This OT moving way too fast.

Is there any repercussions for killing the NPC in the wheelchair right before
rom.
?

Just got M
artyr
L
ogarius
down in my first attempt.
The whole castle area was pretty damn great. I found him really easy to sidestep and swipe, and eventually spun to win.

I've been finding all these bosses really easy even since Vicar. Kinda weird, as BSB and her were both way more difficult for me. Axe continues to be OP as fuck, I got a video of this fight I might put up later since he just runs right into it like most things in this game.

Start of their attack animation. I think some attacks are just too fast, though. I'm also unsure whether you can parry the big armored executioner guys. The shirtless ones with the bricks you can, so I don't think it's a size thing, but I've never been able to do it with the armored ones.

Can anyone tell me if I am severly underleveled? The
Corpse monsters
at the
unseen village
one shot me at 1000hp. What the hell?

depends on your build i guess, but it has my favorite moveset out of all the weapons i've tried so far. you can get a
saw spear
in central yharnam, and i bought most of the other weapons to try out

I have 14 Str and 13 Skill from the class I chose so I can't use the kirkhammer yet.

Not feeling this at all, mainly as I'm terrible at it. Cleric Beast is kicking my arse, barely do any damage to it

Me too. The combat seems too hit n miss, the gank mobs are plain unfair and I'm dying because of the shitty camera more than anything else.

not enjoying it at all. All I'm thinking while playing this is that I wished they'd done Demon's Souls 2 instead.

Which gun are you using? It might just be me getting progressively better at the game, but since I switched from pistol to shotgun my riposte success percentage has skyrocketed.

Are you planning on stopping your leveling at a certain point or do you not care about the builds and metas?
This won't be my PvP character so I'm just going all-in with the levels!

Those mobs that can paralyze you and a tentacle comes out their head when they grab you are one of my most hated mobs in the game. Screw those things.

Struggling with Rom. Keep getting pounded by all the additional enemies.

When the fight starts, kill the initial batch of spiders. Then start wailing on it. When it starts to teleport, keep attacking. You can stop it from teleporting and do MORE damage. After that, just go for 2 hit combos at most and run. Don't bother with the other spiders and keep moving all the time. Don't even lock on

Took me a few tries.

People create multiple PVP characters? Any reason?
No, I meant - the one I'm playing with now is just my PvE-character!

I will create my PvP character after this :)

I find about midway through an attack works, maybe a fraction closer to getting hit. I use a blunderbuss which I find much easier to riposte with than the pistol. I started with the pistol at the beginning and I wasn't able to riposte at all with it. I bought the blunderbuss and I have no problems with riposting now.

Edit: really I go with my gut. It hasn't let me down yet!

22h. I took my time (ask stream. I was literally looking everywhere for loot. I went for the "trying to do 100%-without looking too much at guides"-playthrough. I did, however "rage-quit" my first character 8h in. The second character I created basically "rushed" through the first two bosses.

Im at 26 hours and have only beaten 5 bosses. I am messing around quite a bit though.

I found this on Reddit; interesting hypothesis:
I have a theory that the bells pull from around you as you move. Meaning there is no more stationary "signs". I tested it last night by ringing a bell and then standing in one spot by the boss door for 15 minutes(1 summon) next I rang it and wandered the zone and found myself getting summoned almost instantly in " high traffic" areas. It needs more testing but I think this is how it works this time around. Thus eliminating designated spawn points for summons/invaders.

Tl;dr When you ring a bell you become a mobile summoning sign.

it sounds good to me, I don't need anyone else kicking my ass, the game is doing that well enough.
Is this your first Souls game?

The bugs in the area before Rom...
When they jump on your head and suck your brains it's the most sickening sound. The sound design in this game is crazy. I don't want to know what they did to make that sound.

Also, if one of those bugs get your echoes, they look so fucking cool because *all* of their eyes turn purple.

It might not be for you. The game (all souls games) require you to learn the moveset and whatnot. Call of Duty, it is not. There is zero handholding. In fact, From will typically troll you and make things work against you where in a different game it would help you.

feels good, eh?
Haha yeah I know I played the previous 2 Souls games. I loved them and could get used to them but doesn't seem to be working with this one. Will stick with it though cause I'm loving the art style and generally everything else about it

I was in the same boat. Got super frustrated on him. I would suggest watching a few YouTube videos. The easiest way for me to beat him was to shoot him twice in the head so he collapses and then to R1 his head. Wait a little while for his head to "recharge" (you will know because it will have a red effect around it) and then shoot him twice more in the head for another strong R1 attack. The game got a lot more fun for me after beating him.
Cheers dude, didn't know you could target his head so will do that!

Which gun are you using? It might just be me getting progressively better at the game, but since I switched from pistol to shotgun my riposte success percentage has skyrocketed.

I'm pretty sure shotguns have a wider window for ripostes. I switched briefly over to the pistol to try it out and several enemies were not staggering when hitting them the same time I was previously staggering them with the blunderbuss.

Given that damage on pretty much all guns that aren't cannons is crap, shotguns all the way for me.

I *almost* died.
If she hits you with the disabling magic it can be instant death.

Guess I got lucky then. I got stunned by the magic but don't remember it doing a ton of damage. The soot monsters, which were screaming and bolting around outside, were brain dead in the fight.

Man, i can't coop on the game since the day after launch.

Every time i use the bell i get disconnected.
