Just spamming another page with how much I love the twinblades.

Current build

Level 54

Vit - 24
End - 20
Str - 10
Skl - 25
Bt - 10
Arcane - 15

Using twinblades, cane and repeater pistol. Strength was 9 by default, but I bumped it up to 10 for the pistol.

YOU GUYS

I BEAT IT

THE FIRST SOULS GAME I'VE EVER BEATEN!

I even got the secret boss and beat him too.

I feel so accomplished right now.

Character #2 is going to be Skill/Arcane based.

Man it's crazy how things just expand when exploring in this game. I'm setting out to check out one path and you can get side tracked by several smaller paths or discovering a whole new area. Also going back to old places has its nice surprises.

Concerning Tomb of Oedon

I was running back through the area of the Father fight and out of nowhere some hunter comes rushing at me. After barely exchanging a few blows another hunter appears and starts fighting. I had to bail out and heal for a sec and then I noticed they both started fighting each other. I let them duke it out and I took out the surviving hunter after. This game knows how to keep you on your toes and not let your guard down

So I was doing a farming run through Central Yharnham, getting some blood vials since I was low - after a few rounds of getting enough I decided to just run straight up to the cemetery and lamp back. Lo and behold, ran into a damn hunter who killed me really fast because I wasn't expecting a fight. Went back and kicked his ass, though. With a little help. But I still kicked his ass.

On that note, am I the only one that's a trophy hunter? In that, every time I kill somebody I go see if I can buy their equipment, and if I can I purchase one of the things and replace what I currently am wearing with it. I proudly wear the clothes of my kills.

ignore the one with the huge axe. Literally pointless, he's not guarding anything. no need to go that way at all.

as for the other one he's dead simple. He telegraphs his hits from a mile away. If you can pull off a parry you should be able to one shot him, or very close to it- even if you haven't been able to level yet. I managed to smoke him easily with just the cane.

That's if I can even get to the other one. Half the time i don't make it that far. :s

I'm really struggling with this one. Every boss takes like 4 hours to beat. After boss 3 I had no idea where to go, and fluked my way into places I just died. No idea yet how to even equip runes. Just no mercy for me, haha. I hope the game throws me a pushover boss for the next one.

I'm just about to buy this on a US account (£40 vs £55 at my local GAME).

My UK account has a ps+ sub, will I be able to play MP of will I have to sub on my US account too?

The boss names are getting spoilerific Yoshi :(
Spoiler the bosses name Yoshi
But... Tower Knight isn't the actual name of the boss <,< either way, I'm sorry!
Anyway you could post your build and weapon you're using? Very curious to see.
Saw Spear +10
Pistol
Executioners Garb, Grey Wolf Cap, Graveguard gauntlet + kilt
Vit 50 (cap)
Endurance 40 (cap)
Strength 27 (going for 50)
Skill 41 (going for 50)

Arcane 7

That's actually the second part of the quest with Eileen the Crow. If she was aggro towards you then that means you didn't start it. That being said, the optional areas in this game are absolutely amazing.

Anyone playing with the HUD turned off? How much more challenging does it make it? It almost makes it Monster Hunter-esque, not knowing how much health your enemies have left.

Another problem I have with this game is I always feel like I'm wasting a level up stat if I put anything into Vit. Like...I should be good enough at the game that I shouldn't need more hit points, dammit!

NG+ note #8: Having trouble with the frenzy debuff? Sedatives are purchasable in the regular shops in NG+! (5,6k each, so pretty much free at this stage).
It's okay!

It's just that now I won't be surprised when I see it.
You're absolutely right, I'm sorry. Editing.

3rd Chalice Dungeon down.

So far I've done:

Pthumeru Labyrinth
Pthumeru Labyrinth [Root chalice]
Central Pthumeru Labyrinth

In Central Pthumeru Labyrinth, I found a Hinterlands Chalice, to make a different type, so I assumed I was done with Pthumeru.

But then I found a Central Pthumeru Root Chalice, and a Lower Pthumeru Chalice.

And the Central Pthumeru Root Chalice allows for what's called a "Fetid Offering" which adds a prefix to your dungeon, which I assume means it's harder and gives it better loot.

Jesus fuck, so much content. Chalice dungeons are indeed, seemingly infinite.

I opened up the Central Pthumeru Root dungeon with the Fetid Offering in place and also opened up the Lower Pthumeru dungeon. Gonna get some dinner and then get back to it. Can't wait to see what "Fetid" adds.

To the person who beat this game and it's their first souls game:

CONGRATS! It's an amazing feeling...

Keep in mind though, Dark Souls 1 will kick your ass :D

DS2 might be good to start with next, work your way up to DS1 then DeS.

Mid (??) game spoilers -- I've hit a wall at
Unseen Village. I can run past the frenzied enemies to the broken lantern at the staircase, and I can make it out past that large scary creature at the entrance to the large square. But I can't progress past the next area, where there are more large scary creatures spitting crap at you. They can't seem to be baited, and I can't take them all on at once.

And there's clearly a bell ringer maiden somewhere, but I can't find her to shut her up. How the hell are you supposed to get past this point? All co-op attempts have failed, all helpers die within like two minutes.

My level is somewhere in the low 50s.

So after you open a dungeon can you return to it every time? Or do you need additional items to reopen?

Oh my god the level design is so good and the combat is so good and the atmosphere is so good.

The feeling when a shortcut makes you go "holy shit, I'm back here!?" is so good!

Anyway last couple of days for me were

-Play Bloodborne with 2 hours burst
-Read Gaf Bloodborne Thread
-Forcing my friend to buy this fuckin game
-Spamming how awesome the world/level design is
-Watch Lobos play Bloodborne (obv without reaching my current %)
-Watch Elajjaz play Bloodborne
-Watch EpicNameBro play Bloodborne

This is getting obsessive lol

interesting. so you're saying that difficulty-wise, it's DeS, DS, DS2, then BB?

the first few hours of bloodborne were really hard, but it hasn't been that bad since i've gotten the hang of the combat and the basic gameplay loop

DeS would be a cake walk if you had gone Bloodborne > DS2 > DS1

How many floors was Pthumeru? I just finished the second floor earlier.
