Is Father G's outfit any good? Tempted every time I visit the Insight store, and for some reason I can't compare stats to my current armor before buying.

When you first encounter the snakehead enemy inside the dark room and go out to cross a bridge and fight another one, there's an elevator off to the right. That one goes up to the room where you can unlock the door by the lantern.

The other shortcut is another elevator that leads up to that original snakehead dark room but it can be hard to give directions with how big that area is.

Thanks, found it all and killed the boss on my first "real" attempt lol

Any tips for the fourth boss?
Vicar Amelia? When she heals there's nothing I can do. Even with a charged heavy attack at level 32 with a saw spear +3 she doesn't flinch when she heals

I've been going Skill mainly, should I buy the Blade of Mercy now it is available? Do I need to start leveling arcane with it or something? Slightly confused.

God this game is fucking ace. The level design is really on another level.

I've been really down about the PS4 and its mediocre lineup but this game is doing it for me. Helps I got TLOU for free (never played because my ex took the 60 gig in the divorce).

think it as a attrition battle instead of a honorable duel when there's 2 or more.

I just wish, outside of being OP, There was some effective way to take on more than one person. In previous souls games, I had no issue tackling multiple players. This is a seemingly impossible feat in this game, especially so with the ease of healing. If it was not for this, the pvp would be superior to the previous games.

I just beat BSB and man what a fun fight. It was pretty easy since his attacks are easily avoided and the
axe
works wonders when he is in his rush mode. Best part was that after killing him with a shot from my pistol I didn't noticed I was poisoned so I died to that lol, freaking love this game.

What do you mean by couldn't progress?
Need more info, I would say no.

I activated the lamp and then tried the door, but it said "hunters are not allowed to pass".

so no or yes? :D
normal or not?

I think it is strang, that I end in a deadend.

fire paper and then just spam R1.
fight becomes a joke.

I cannot kill BSB. I just can't. I am so sick of this god damn area.

What's your strat? Side step twice on each attack, move in for 2-3 swings, pull back, repeat. Just get away when he uses his poison. I almost came out unscathed and I'm not even that good :-/

Anyway, give it a try, or just summon someone?

Heard there was an NPC summon that helps a lot. No idea how to get it though.

At the bottom of the stairs to the right there is a spot on the ground, if you stand on it and use the bell you can summon an NPC.

Lol thats the note on the door, you can still open it.

Tell me about it.

I thought it was an odd omission in Demon's Souls way back when. The fact this is From's 4th game like this and they STILL don't have the ability for us to compare equipped items is ridiculous.

Gaf where am I supposed to go after the 4th boss (
the twin witches
)
Don't tell me that I have to be captured... It is still way too hard....

I think I am a cane convert. I've barely had any time to play this week but I rolled an Axe user first and while that hit hard the standard attack speed seems pretty meh.

The cane though, that R2 is the same attack as the Balder Side Sword from Dark Souls and that makes it pretty much ace. I'm still working on the whip part but I like the range a lot already.

Unlocked the first shortcut and made it to the first boss. Got him down to half but didn't have many blood vials with me so I didn't kill him. I'll go back tomorrow with an upgraded cane and a full set of blood vials and I feel pretty good about my chances.

Normal, it said "inspect" and showed you the note. After reading, the action prompt should read "open".

Only got to play for 15 minutes and ran into a group of 6 guys and was like nope and as soon as I turned around another group of guys were behind me and had no place to run.

I had a little bit of trouble, but then I realized...
a lot of the time, if you just stand there and let him walk up to you, he'll start an attack with his right hand and that is extremely easily parriable. I just now beat him doing nothing but parries.

The
Witch and Amelia
were pretty easy for me. Maybe because of leveling up a bunch? I don't really think I've gotten that much better...

Hmm, so that's how it works. Is it a consistent identifiable mark for all npc summons, or is this kind of random.

From managed to make coop significantly more obtuse than any previous entry. Fuck.

I've been trying that but it just seems like I always make some tiny mistake. I almost always get him to like 20% health and he goes nuts and I die. lol

I'm not sure, I haven't even tried it but this is how I was told it works. I remember getting there and seeing the note and spot but didnt think anything of it because thats not how summoning worked in previous FROM games.
