Bloodborne |OT2| Praise The Moon

I've finished the story (kinda) I mean it was kind of an accident and I've probably missed out on loads of optional areas and bosses. NG+ is when the game really starts anyway.

So I only played a little bit of Dark Souls 2, enough to confirm that I didn't like these games. That was a year ago though. I guess I've become more open to what the "souls" games were offering since then as I am kind of in love with this game. I've been taking my time and thoroughly exploring everything and getting used to the combat. I have a friend who has played Dark Souls 1 and 2 and we have been keeping pace with each other and giving each other hints and discovering things together. I've been using the Hunter's Axe and am absolutely loving it. It's up to something like 135 now and is just a superb weapon.

I really dislike boss fights as I get very frustrated very quickly and am not good at managing patience, this applies to basically all boss fights in all games. This evening I clicked over to about 14 hours played and during my exploring, after killing
Blood Starved Beast
on my second try, with the help of
Alfred
I came across
Vicar Amelia
. I didn't plan on fighting two bosses in one night but thought I'd give VA a go and see what her attacks are like, etc so I could prepare for fighting her tomorrow. And what do you know, I beat her on my first try. I was dodging left and right, attacking when I should, pulling back when I should. Hell I only used a couple of health potions. That was a huge personal victory for me, especially considering how new I am to it all.

Over the last 14 hours I have really come to fully understand what it is that gets so many people in love with these games. Granted I probably can't put it into words, but I fully understand it now. These games are cool. Hello brothers and sisters. Praise the moon indeed.

Previous to that the record was like 2.5k. This guy took two Cannon shots and 7 vials. Every hit of his out me at critical levels. He was basically the first Chalice boss, the Undead Giant, but with a cannon for one of his hands.

Never heard of this happening.

Maybe we can get a list going in the OP. I wish I had something to contribute.

What is the difference between a Chalice and a Root Chalice?

Non-root chalices are a set layout/items/bosses. You'll always find the Root version of the dungeon in the non-root version. The Root version is random layouts/bosses/items.

LATE GAME SPOILERS
How do I get past the laser guy in the Unseen Village? Every time I think I'm out of the lasers path it gets me anyways.

Fuck those squid looking mother fuckers. Beat my first bag dude because I don't want to go to that place and was feeling good about myself, but nope. Squidded.

Im reading the spoilers because I dont know what the fuck anything is anyway, frustrating but having a great time, havent made it to CB yet, 4 hours in

Loving the game so far!
Still have not encoutered any boss, but I believe it is harder then D. Souls indeed. Quite a time I don't play the Soul series already, but it seems the enemies in Bloodborne are indeed quite more agile and you need to rely almost 100% on agility since you mostly can't block.

Wow. I'm different, finding it way easier than dark souls

Father G is very hard to riposte due to the fact that the window between his attack hitting you and your bullet hitting him first is miniscule. During his 2nd form, try sidestepping to his side while he launche his combo string. The sidestep i-frames is big enough to get pass through it and his attack doesn't have any hard lock on, so it should net you some safe 1-2 big attack.
The "beginning" of the attack animation is usually too early.
Yeah, it's too many time already that I managed to parry his attack, only me to get hit by his attack which makes me missed the window of opportunity for visceral strike.

HAHAHAHAHA, I just cheesed that
asswipe at the end of Eileen's quest REALLY bad lmaooo, definitely saving that video. Holy shit that was great after all those deaths from him.

Based Hunters Axe saves the day again!

Trying to figure out the best weapon for an arcane build. I'll put this in spoilers since I'm discussing weapons that some people might not know about.

I'm torn between just getting the basic 16 Str and 12 Skl to equip Ludwig's Holy Blade since it has A scaling in Arcane at +10 and equipping it with a gem. I'd just pump Arcane to like 50 with this build, I guess. The only issue is that arcane/fire/bolt gems are hard to come by during a first runthrough without seriously delving into chalices, probably.

Blades of Mercy and Burial Blade both have inherent arcane damage on them, but I don't think the scaling on it is as good. I could do a 25 Skill/25 Arcane build and use these, but I'm not sure how well that would work out.

Anyone have experience using Arcane based stuff on their weapons? How'd it go?

This might be off topic but, does anyone else who preordered the game have the buy option under start in the ps4 menu? I didnt think much of it at first but now I am not sure how I would be able to redownload the game If i were to delete it. All my other digital games say purchased on the store but this one doesn't.

So I'm now able to see the
Cthilu monsters on the sky near the Cathedral
is this because of insight or because I just beat
Rom
?

Can someone explain the lore behind R
om
?

I feel like the game got really weird all the sudden and I have no idea what's going on.

It´s near the big fountain, you can speak to her through the window of her house.
Although you need to go to the sewers first to unlock the gate.

I guess I missed something
I did the sewers, killed the pig, unlocked the elevetor shortcut, beat the ambush on the bridge and I saw a door you could knock across it, but I don't remember seeing a window?
