Welp, guess I am getting payback for thinking
Rom was easy. Outside of the main game, you fight him in a Chalice Dungeon, and it's a closed space.

I thought that was horrible until I fought the boss afterwords on layer 4. Just horrible.

Just took down my 5th boss. The
Witch of Hemwick
was one fun game of hide and seek, clever boss fight that made me tense for different reasons.

I've been busy all week and now my ass is getting handed to me by the second boss (
Father Gascoigne
) and you guys are talking about the horrors which I have yet to face.

Alright, I needs some tips on beating R
om.
The way I did it was
with the tonitrus +5, completely ignore the small spiders, rush Rom's side and go to town. Before you rush though, try and run around from a distance to make the spiders move around so that there is a clear shot at Rom. When he summons the sky shit, roll AWAY from Rom, you will dodge most if not all of the meteor things. When in close, watch for his melee attack, its devastating if caught in it, also watch for the attack which summons the meteor things from the ground. Basically, wait at a distance for an opening, dodge any sky shits, rush in and attack but keep an eye out for his attack. The tonitrus should eat his health away like nothing when you apply the buff, if you don't have it I would suggest going with a fast weapon if possible, or just get the tonitrus and upgrade it a bit.

Vicar Amelia is absolutely wrecking me. Like I can't even get more than few hits in, I last 30 seconds tops. 6 tries now.

I have no idea what to do.

All of that boss's attacks are frontal, so you are safe as long as you're to the side or behind. Stay on her, don't let there be much space between you or she'll start using the leap attack and the shockwave thing. If her talisman starts glowing, get directly behind her

Thanks dude, really helpful.

I'm 3-0 on bosses so far. Haven't died once on a boss fight yet. A few close calls, tho.

What's the best weapon to jump to after the axe?

I'm level 70 and the axe is still the best. :P

I have the stake driver as my second weapon though, something quicker to deal with annoying enemies.

There is one attack where she swipes her claw back on her side, I think it's to her left. So I'd also recommend to stay on the right if possible. I also think the leap/shockwave are good to get as the recovery lets you get a solid heavy hit in.

On the surface she plays like a souls boss where you can just sit back and watch her do moves until she leaves herself open, then attack, but you can get super aggressive against her. You need to understand how dodges and i-frames work to really take advantage of her and swinging at her head and especially legs for her weak points. When you get her to less than half health, get your numbing urns ready to stop her healing.

Probably my least favorite boss so far, but she's definitely beatable. Above all, learning how the dodge her attacks is the key to lasting long in that fight.

Walk in, light your weapon on fire with Burning Paper. Run at her, roll forward as she jumps, you'll land behind her. I used Saw Blade, extended form, spamming R1, the overhead blow hitting her arms and legs, which eventually staggers her, at which point use a charged R2 for strong damage. The overhead R1 also hits her face, which is vulnerable. Always try to get your HP back by hitting her, unless you're 50% or below. I threw an oil urn at her followed by several Molotov at points. When she heals is a good time to negate her recovery if you are out of Numbing Mist. Also helps to have high stamina to dodge and hit more. Try to stay behind her; she has a back kick, but safer there for most part.

Following this advice, that means you must not backstep when trying to avoid an attack. Sidestep have long i-frames that will ensure your safety as long as your timing is right (really, the i-frames are so generous). Bosses seems easily change their direction when you in front of them, but if you go to their side, their body wouldn't budge an inch.

I'm sick as hell and work in 4 hours. Thinking about just doubling down and playing Bloodborne until then, since I can't sleep anyways. D:

Need tips for (Forbidden Woods boss)
Shadow of Yharnam

You can counter them easily to deal a ton of damage. When one of them is almost dead they'll go in snake mode - you really want to avoid that as they become a lot harder to manage. What I did was spread damage evenly until they were all relatively low. At that point they go in snake mode anyway but you can kill one while it's transforming. Then it's just a matter of killing the other two as fast as possible. The caster can summon giant snakes which are really hard to avoid so kill him asap after it transforms.

Beat it, I fucking loved that game.

Last boss spoilers:
the fight reminded me of the fight with Gwynn, which I loved, but it was almost copy and past design. All it takes is riposte to win. Could have also done without his, "YAHS!" they were annoying. Still a great fight, with awesome music. Can't wait to find out more about the lore, want to know wth that thing floating in the sky was.

Time for NG+

Stay on her ass, all the time, wait for her to do her swiping, attack.

Asylum Demon strat from Dark Souls works wonders here.

Hug the butt.

Thanks guys. I tried the
butt-hug
but her swipe seems to damage me even when I am directly behind her. I must be doing something wrong, will get back at it tomorrow. Too exhausted tonight to continue

Also - where do I get this numbing item? I don't think I have any

I didn't stay at her ass honestly. She jumps back a lot and swings behind her too much for that strategy to work as effectively like it did against CB. I kept her in front of me or was close at her sides swinging hard to stun. She's gonna take a few tries, but keep at it.

If you have that gate open near the lantern, there's a ladder to the right that has a set of these on top. I have no idea where to get more if those run out though.

Does physical defense matter a lot when it comes to armor? I just got the Gascoigne armor set but I'm hesitant to wear it cause it's physical defense stat is lower than my current hunter set.

Quick notice. There is apparently a bug with some bosses performing/ spamming the same moves over and over and also not moving into their next phases ( The first usually allows for really easy parrying). A full system restart seems to fix it.

I think this happened to me at Cainhurst because I never saw him do anything but the same basic swipe and a projectile.

which gate? pretty sure I opened everything.

The one you would head to if you go directly straight from the lantern and up those stairs.

The Byrgenwhyn or whatever boss is the first one that I feel is unfair
without a summon.

I
used bolt paper. I got her down to 30 %. But those arcane shots ALWAYS seem to hit unless I dodge like an imbicele, and even than it seems random. Can't hit the small spiders when she starts shooting. I tried summoning but it seems no one either wants to help or the servers were down yesterday.
So. HALP.

Beat the BSB bastard finally. After 80 tries pretty much did the whole fight with no vials and just not getting hit at all. Christ

Is entering that covenant tied to an achievement?
No. You just need to join one Covenant for one of the achievement (specifically to get the Rune bonus you get from joining a Covenant).

Happened to me today against the
Wet Nurse and I was fighting her the first time. Needless to say it was the easiest boss ever.

Are you locked on? I wouldn't be. As long as I was running those never seemed to hit me.

Post Ron
in unseen village after ron, enemies are respawning mid life?! Wtf

Look for women ringing bells to stop that. They're usually hidden somewhere.

That whole area is a pain in the ass.
