So what level was everyone when they fought
Vicar Amelia?
I'm Level 29 and I feel pretty under-leveled during the fight.

I was probably around level 36 with a Ludwig's Holy Blade + 5 and I beat her my first try so I imagine I was a bit over-leveled.

What is this cheese method? He is giving me trouble :(

Rush him and knock him off the ledge. I also read that you can shoot him repeatedly as soon as you reach the platform and he'll be knocked off that way.

CB is optional, FG is mandatory so he is either first or second, after that its
VA or BSB. or the witch.

Use the terrain for cover to get down to the small town square and across it. You can kill one tough guy right below the tower where the gunner cant hit you and then climb up from the same location using the long ass ladder there.

Thanks. I guess I was going in order.

You mean other than the old man telling you, explicitly, to return to the church and then leaving a note on the floor saying the same thing?

didnt know the old man told you where to go, thats cool but thats one time. Like for example, right now I have no earthly idea where to go, I killed
darkbeast paarl
, and as usual, the game gave no indication of anything changing in the world.

talked to the old man in the dream, and aparently hes sleeping, no indication where to go. So yes, my point stands. Im sure you will now accuse me of wanting hand holding and being a casual, thats fine, I forget that you cant point out any kink in the perfection that are miyazaki's creations to some people without being a heathan bashing the game

I was 33 but the way that you beat her doesn't require a high level. You basically use her own size against her, don't ever fight at distance just get in really close and constantly spam dodge to get behind her. You will get hit on occasions but just get straight back in close if you don't need to heal just yet.

I struggled at first by trying to be patient and fight a technical fight and it just didn't work for me.
I'm level 35 and I can't get passed her. Sometimes I'm killed almost immediately. WTF am I doing wrong?

Anyone got some experience/tips for
Vicar Amelia
? Still stuck after 4-5 goes, I know the tip to stay behind her but her clothing sometimes makes it difficult to keep track of her back.

Beat 3 late game bosses this morning,
celestial emissary, daughter of the cosmos and mergo's wet nurse
, the later 2 of which were really great fights. Almost ready to finish the game now, just one more optional boss to go.

I've also heard you can
get him to fall to his death if you reach the top of the ladder and then slide back down.

Genius idea. WOuld i have to reach the top of the tower and then climb down? Or can i force his death without even leaving the comfort of the ladder?

Ludwig's Rifle
seems to have shit dmg like the blunderbuss, but does it perhaps have long range for example? if so that could be handy for some pesty snipers

Is there any guide for what is the appropriate level to be for each boss? I don't care about being spoiled by boss names.

It seems like if you are the wrong level then it is harder to summon co-op help.

Thanks!

This might not be helpful, and I may have gotten lucky, but I just did the same thing I did for BSB, which is to carefully approach, dodge her attack by rolling past her on the left side, taking a couple of whacks at her and then getting the F out of there. I'm using Ludwig's Blade, if that makes a difference.

Forgot the high of defeating a Souls boss. Beat
Cleric Beast
on first attempt and
Father Gascoigne
on my third. Had to put my controller down and flex my arms after both.

I just bet the (second tombstone spoiler)
Hemwick witches. I scouted the area fairly well on the way over. Is there anything else to do here?

I have a bad feeling it's time to fight Darkbeast Paarl.

Does Bone Marrow Ash boost the damage of shots fired from weapons like the Rifle Spear?

If so I could see how a Bloodtinge focused build could work if you also boost your weapon with Bone Marrow Ash.

Right now I'm working on getting my Arcane to 15 so I can use those "spells" that consume QS bullets.

This is interesting, I was wondering about this too. Didn't know it was because of the stone! Maybe we can store it away? What is the purpose of the stone?

When the invisible hand grabs you it teleports you to a new area if you have the stone instead of killing you. On wiki it says that after you get the stone you need to return to hunter's dream for the npcs to recover which I did to no effect. Anyway scratch another one to the mystery list.

mergo
is the next and last optional for me
But no way i'll finish the game without beat every chalice dungeons :P

Btw does the gatling gun guy and the other hunter at the bottom of the tower respawn once you kill them?

No to the latter. I've gone back and forth between the Hunter's Dream and that section and he never appeared again after I killed him. No idea about the tower Hunter. I can't beat him anyway cos of his mad skillz. He killed me but I was fortunately able to retrieve my lost Echoes by climbing up, rolling on to the puddle, claiming and rolling back to the ladder before his molotov hit me. Jammy twat.

Level 29 now before I face off with the third boss. Gonna leave the tower Hunter alone until I'm stronger.

This game.

This. damn. game.

The atmosphere is so fucking incredible, there are no words. I've been just taking it all in from the start, but some of the later locales especially are just breathtaking
Cainhurst
in particular has me floored with just how great the art in this game is. I'm also not really sure how people can call this game short. I've been playing it for several hours on my first playthrough just exploring the world and finding new locations all the time.

having to go to the dream refuge to equip runes and blood gems is such a backwards decision. just let me do it anywhere like with the rings in DS.

whats up with the
old hunter bone
that you get in the
abandoned workshop
? I gave the
comb
to the
doll
but not sure what the
bone
is for

So when is the Havel armor DLC coming out?

The way I did it was to use
fire paper, and to also just keep swinging and attacking her. Obviously you don't want to run out of stamina but just stay right up on her and dodge when needed. Fire paper brings her down pretty quick with that strategy. Just remember to use lock-on side dodge a lot, and the timing on her "pray slam" is pretty crucial (opens her for some nice punishing as well). Apparently she can heal herself, but I didn't give her the chance to when I killed her

none of the hunters respawn (theres many throughout the game)

Check the description, make sure your arcane level is at 15 points.

15 oof, im only at 8, and thats with 2 points put into it for the
flamethrower
. oh well, ill wait for end game then. what about the
third umbilical cord
while we're at it?

Thanks, I heard that Ludwig's Blade is pretty good so I grinded a little to get the Skill to use it. I'll test it out next time, were you using its two hand transformation or just standard?

feel like this is the fourth time I've asked this question, but does anyone know where to find a fire blood gem? I'm past the third boss and cleared the first chalice dungeon but have some other areas unlocked.

Just encountered and beat the Forbidden Woods boss on the first try.
Very cool looking guys, but very simple difficulty-wise. The big-ass snake attack the last one does was surprising though; thankfully, they weren't able to hit me at all.

There is no appropiate level for any boss. You can beat any souls game at level 1 including BB. It's all down to your skill, sure having higher hp and endurance helps but not really if you don't know how to approach a fight.

Make sure to upgrade your weapon as often as you can.

Any suggestions on where to farm for blood? I'm level 31 and struggling with Amelia. In past games I would just do some coop and help people out but it doesn't seem to be working for me. My bell never finds anyone

it scales with STR (and Arcane) not Skill

How? Tell o mighty Yoshi
In the same room that the queen is in, you find a note. Give that note to Alfred (he should be in the second location, which is near the entrance to the forest. He's on the balcony staring down at the forest, to be exact). He'll accept the note. After that, head back to the queen. He will have killed her, go and look the item from her. Feel free to kill Alfred after that as well, he dropps two cool things :)

wait what?! where do you fight him?
Amigdala
is the one I have left.

I'm saving chalice dungeons for my second play through cos my character sucks. Want the loot for my pvp characters
