You in Tijuana, broski? Where's your store at? We've been getting some pretty crazy robbery stories over here near el Parque Morelos.

Some dudes tore down the wall of our restaurant's kitchen not too long ago just to get in and steal some mundane crap.

Can you recall exactly at what hour it happened? It seems to be obvious over here that these dudes come out at a very specific time when the piggies aren't patrolling, so they're likely to have an inhouser giving them the scoop.

I am at Downtown (El Centro), in the second floor between Avenida Revolucion and Constitucion and Third and 4th Street. We got a similar story here, my neighbors below me (A Hair salon) got robbed too because a guy made a whole in the wall to get in too, that is some weird stuff. In my case it happened at 6am.

I remember the local anime store in these parts got robbed last year. In that case it was a glass door with a thin metal frame. The thief/thieves smashed the glass and ran off with a bit of money, if I recall correctly.

The owner ended up installing metal bars over the new door, though I don't recall if he added cameras/security system since it's a puny store in a puny strip mall. He hasn't been robbed since, at least.

Still, kudos to you for facing the crook. You are far braver than I'll ever be. Though I agree with the other poster that it's a bit of a shame you missed out on dropping a Dio quote.

You got lucky, in a way. It's sad that you didn't take a picture of him through the door or kept quiet while calling the police to catch him in the act, but what can you do. Who would ever suspect that in the middle of the night. Such an absurd event. Thank god you didn't try to catch him, that usually only ends in tears unless you're trained. Also: The bunnies deserve an extra carrot.

Sounds like he's either someone you know or hired by someone you know. Sucks. I say he'll be back. Be prepared.

I'd suggest to install one or more hidden cameras and put up a fake one in plain sight. Won't help much, especially with him wearing a mask, but I don't think it hurts to have such a system in place if you run a store.
Request from the complex manager that his escape route be locked down or at the very least included in the CCTV system.
Put up a small bounty for information that could lead to a capture. If you know the guy, others will, too, and they might have seen him sneak around.
Investigate how you can reinforce the door and lock to slow him down. You saw how he tried to gain entry, so this really depends. He'll probably eventually resort to breaking the glass panel, but that ought to be loud.

Best of luck, hopefully the bastard behind this gets caught.

If I was you OP I would try to get an alarm and make sure its known you store has one.

Also It was wise of you not to chase him, you were right you had stopped him from robbing you so chasing him could of made the situation worse.

So well, a quick update, I have talked with a lot of my neighbors and they all seem to think it was the night shift guard, also the morning guard told me that the night guy left at around 6am, a few minutes before the guy that was on my door was trying to enter.

I don´t think he looks like him, the night guard has a darker skin and older eyes, but anyway, I am looking now into buying security cameras and damn they can be expensive... Well, for now I´ll take anything valuable to my house.

Thanks for all the tips everyone! And get bunnies, they make a great alarm system =P.
