It seems there is some interaction in the
Altar of Despair
where you fight her, but my only option was "don't do anything". What am I missing to trigger it ?

Ludwig's Holy Blade, Cannon, Blades of Mercy, and Torch/whatever pistol to parry.

Shit is nice for a str/skill build.
 
Soooo I've just played the opening hour and didn't realise I could pick up a weapon in the Hunter's Dream. I think I did quite well considering. Managed to clear the bonfire but then got savaged by this huge dude with an axe.

Edit: This axe fucking kills people in one hit! Just destroyed the huge dude in the cloak and got all my shit back. I think I have been Bloodborned.

I can't confirm this but apparently you can revive NPCs with key items (flesh?) at the Altar of Despair

Perhaps that's how the Queen revives if Alfred kills her

Arent there multiple sources
of blood? I seem to recall that the history of the vilebloods mentioning them finding another source of corrupt blood in the labyrinth

angering the gatling gun hunter
? I know you can
make him an ally if you come in the right equipment
and I don't want to miss that.
 
So the game suddenly has got huge negative points for me. The invader system for all intents and purposes does not work. That ontop of the whole online system seeming to be an afterthought just really really kills a big part of souls for me. Not pleased at all, especially since DSII was amazing at that aspect.

you can run past him without killing him then come back when you have the right gear but you do have to go past him because bsb leads to a dead end

You can avoid his fire all the way down to where BSB is.

are a "ends justify the means" kind of group it seems like. They are taking their vengeance on a church who wronged them, as they see it. They're not "good" per se, but are just another group bringing despair (that they feel is justified) into an already horrible nightmare.

I screwed over my level 125 build to get the cannon (now level 130). It is worth it when you level it up and fortify it. Amazing.

in Challice Lower Pthumerian Depth 2

literally harder than anything fought in the main game so far and I have like two bosses left in that

Welp I just learned the hard way that your blood stain doesnt stay if you turn off your console...(took a break from 4th boss) just lost 46k blood :(

PSA: do not turn off your console if you have a blood stain with alot of blood you need to get to

I recall an item description that said that the church's blood ministration was taken to Cainhurst somehow but I can't remember more specifically.
 
Ok killed Shadows after forbidden forest on first try I thought they were pretty easy. Got to ROM killed him on second try he wasn't to bad just had to figure out and take time ignoring adds. Now Unseen Village is totally awesome looking place and cool atmosphere but OMG is it hard. Been the toughest zone for me so far in game. That place is like a nightmare maze with crazy stuff everywhere.

I could've sworn I had a chalice, but now I can't find it. Don't you get one for beating BSB? I haven't did any of those dungeon things yet.

just dodge towards him to the side of his blade if he's using it; dodge backwards if he uses his hammer-like weapon
 
Hell yes! After a bunch a struggling tries, I managed to take down A
melia by myself. I found her to be much easier if you don't rely on the lock on when dodging. It allowed me to move right past her into position where I could strike and few times and back out. I finished it off with some fire paper.

Going to go back to the chalice dungeon and try and clear the 3rd floor. The boss is giving me trouble there, too.

Which weapon are you using? I found the cane worked really well in whip mode. Geat combination of reach and seed.
Just circled anti-clockwise backwards taking pot shots at the katana guy with R2, then moved on to the flamethrower guy doing a similar tactic, and finally took out the fireball guy by dodging in and out. My main problem was getting hit by fireball guy while working on the katana guy but the timing becomes quite predictable eventually.

EDIT: Seems like you worked this out too!
 
holy fuck i did it, last boss down.

I had 0 vials left and 2 bullets. That was sloppy as hell. My hands are numb

Well, Gehrman anyway. I have the other boss fight left which killed me.

I saved a video of that shit.
 
Finally starting invading, and playing co-op. It works like a charm, I trust that most players will be able to figure it out before long and the fun will begin. Me and a fellow GAFer took out a boss each and did some grinding for echoes, also managed to get invaded a couple times. Loving the online component so far, but note I had to put my PS4 in the DMZ otherwise I was getting disconnect errors.

That moment when you loose 80000 blood echos trying to trying to get to the next lantern cause you are already far into the damn world... FML I could of leveled up 4 times or so.... Hate the snake people
