Warp to the Cathedral (where you fought VA), run down stairs, hang a left, go all the way to the bottom, new door should be open since you beat Rom (it takes you to the unseen village).

I lured him upstairs for the entire fight. More room and you're not constantly getting stuck on Gravestones. When you need to heal, Run downstairs behind some geometry then run back up. Once he goes beast, I just threw tons of molotovs.
 
99 Insight is worse guys, trust me. Some of us are having worse days :V


As for fighting
Rom, you can just ignore his adds I realized. I just killed the chalice one by slashing at him and fleeing from his adds occassionally.
 
Man, Forbidden Woods might be the toughest section in any of the Souls games. Getting killed.

I made it to an area with uh...
mushroom aliens shooting laser beams at me
? lol?

Am I close to the boss?

Also holy SHIT when I tried to kill the
NPC who was clearly just finishing up killing two people. That was a hell of a beast he turned into.

No, thats a dead end. Go back and stay on the same level, go through the water section, kill the pigs, keep going, you will eventually come to a spot that has stairs going up and down, if you go up then you open a shortcut (open a gate), if you go down you get to the boss. You are close, just gotta go the opposite way of the aliens

Ludwig's rifle is a shotty? I had no idea. Guess I'll replace my stock blunderbuss then since I just started NG+.

Question about that and the red brooch:
will using it give me a NG+ weapon enchantment or is it the same one I got first time? Because if it's the latter, I just sort of want to give it to Papa G's daughter and see what happens.

Go up the stairs from where you woke up, then go up the second flight then back on yourself up the small stairs to the altar. There's a lantern back to Hunters Refuge.

That place I found out is way higher level than where you should be.

Can confirm this happened to me today. If you die and log off, it doesn't save the bloodstain.

I went to the exact area where I died yesterday with 40k blood echoes and boom, they weren't there. Killed every enemy too, none had glowing eyes.

When he goes into the final phase get ready to use the gun then hit him with a visceral. That last section he's too fast to stick to normal combat and for me at least, too fast to rely on molotovs since I couldn't get any space between us. You're gonna have to learn the timing to dodge as well or he will take you down in a single flurry. That's pretty much how my first few tries ended anyway.
 
Why won't it let me use my small resonant bell?

I just used the beckoning bell to beat the second boss.
Now I'm back in my dream and I'm trying to join my friend's game and I can't use any of my bells.

This game is fucking cool.

When I fought the
witch boss the second time I realized the things they summoned didn't come after you if you left them alone. After getting my ass beaten down by a couple of the other bosses I was cracking up as I wrecked these two little old women.
 
So how exactly do you get the 10k badge without buying it? (need for speedrun-purposes)

Thank you! I need a break but will use these directions as soon as I'm back. By the way, where does the shortcut you mention loop back to?

I reloaded the app and made pw gaf. Ringing again if you're still around.

. Problem is I can't remember where the
little girl is.
I found the place but it's behind a gate locked by a device. How do I get to the other side again?

So I got told about this cool bit of lore at work, having not noticed the window before I fought the second boss. I've since returned and all I get is the girl sobbing.. does this mean I've missed the opportunity to continue the story by starting it late?

I hate the feeling that I'm missing great lore by not going through every area over again every boss victory to see for different NPC reactions or missing NPCs entirely. :(

Empty Phantasm Shell, Beast Roar, and Messengers Gift. Will I find out how to use them as I play through the game, or is there a trick? If it's too spoilerish, just tell me and let me experience it myself

Through the sewers and then up a ladder. Go through the cemetery with mangled trees and shit. Find the place where there are rabid dogs and villagers and go to where they were coming from.

Look at the stat requirements.
 
An I wasting my time breaking crates looking for items? I'm not even sure if I've found anything in them yet. I break them when looking for shortcuts of course.
