Like around what? I have like a +6 or 7 cane and Hunter Axe.

Ironically, the Cane does ridiculous counter damage and is a pretty competent weapon as useful or more so than the Axe if you know how to use it properly.

and then when I saw her clutching her amulet I automatically put two and two together mostly because I had a strong feeling that the amulet was going to do something in the battle. I was right, she heals lol.

I forgot about that item completely during that fight.

Find the shortcut. There's a very short way to the boss that only requires crossing the bridge, and then running right past the two beast enemies.

You didn't open the shortcut? Right before the bridge with the fire ball there's an elevator that takes you back to the central Yarnham checkpoint. Oh, and try to parry the bosses attacks in the second phase.

It just opens up an alternate path so you can get to the next boss before fighting BSB.

The swordsguy with fire becomes unable to attack in phase 2. he just dodges around.

You can skip the first group with the dogs by taking a right just before you meet them and dropping down a small cliff

you can skip the part with the water/oil and the molotovs by opening a door in one of the huts in that small village you get to just after that group with the dogs

. It felt like probably the longest boss run so far for me.

Yeah, I got one guy to go at it with me but I messed up and fell off the ledge.

Now I haven't been able to get anyone on, sometimes the co-op for summoning someone seems more busted than being summoned.

And it wastes insight too when it doesn't work, :/

yeah, you want to be a relatively high lvl (like 55-65) he has some easy patterns, I actually think he becomes easier at the halfway point and just parry attack him constantly, reminds me of an easier gwyn.

I just ran into these fuckers by accident. I had 100k souls from screwing around in that area since it was huge and I couldn't find any shortcuts or lamps. Just about crapped myself when the boss health bars popped up.

Beat them on the first try. The electric mace I got from the 'jail' wrecked them pretty hard, I just focused on them one by one. I left the caster for last since I have high fire resist and his attacks didnt hurt much.

I can confirm one does not drop if you preemptively stumble upon that area and commit murder like a kind soul would.
