I've been seeing this a lot and I feel for you guys. I spent my entire time killing the spiders and when they were clear, getting in massive hits on him. Backing up for is AOE etc and listenin for the sound of him casting his ice bolts which always seemed to miss me as I was always moving to the side/backwards(or forwards) at the same time.
Kill baby spiders first, then go for him, rinse repeat.

Sedatives get rid of frenzy build up too. Helpful for the run to the blood rock. The old lady will you some for free at the chapel.
I had to do the other thing, with Ashen Set and a rune I would still hit frenzy

Should I level up my cane passed +6 or Ludwig's sword after +6? I know Cane has better stats in skill but I Ludwig is already hitting pretty hard in it's two-handed form.
The upgrade materials for the higher levels seem hard to come by, don't want my cane damage to only improve slightly. it's my goto weapon, but can't decide between it and ludwig.

So I found this weird guy on top of the building where you first see the snake people, and he was eating corpses. I talked to him and he asked me if I knew of a safe place, and I decided to answer no. For whatever reason, I have no idea, I decided to hit him. 18 hours in, he is literally the only npc I could talk to that i attacked... Well apparently he didn't like that because he turned into an electrical mini cleric beast. Like, wtf I never thought in a million years that would happen. I must have terrible luck, because he's the only npc that this probably happens. Anyone know what his name is?

Frenzy things with the big round heads drop anything? Frenzy is such a pain in the ass I always just run past them.

Well, they got a MASSIVE buff in NG+. I just died three times on them.
To be fair, I was on the phone and slightly distracted but their ranged attack is deadly now and
. Once I got the tells down for the missile stun (key tip: listen), it was much easier but genuinely no joke anymore. What a change.

Yeah. I struggle with it too. I seem to just do best with the saw cleaver. It's the best blend of speed and damage I've found so far.

Any way to increase your max bullets? Everything I Want to do in this game uses them flagrantly and enemies don't drop enough to sustain my current playstyle without crafting after every encounter.

I found the npc and didn't attack him thanks to seeing about him on here, now he wants me to recommend a safe zone. Should I say the Chapel or the Clinic?

This is how I felt at first, but now I always go 2 handed with the claymore part, as does so much damage!
I mostly stick with the sword form of Kirkhammer but I think I might give Saw Clever another shot. Need to upgrade it some first.
But I had no idea that would happen! If I would have said yes, does that still happen when ( and if) I see him again?
I found the lamp
at the bottom of the elevator that I can't access yet.
If they can't see you, they can't hit you. Use the big rocks as cover.
Also, the enemies in the area are so easy to parry. They will lift their left arms, and the moment they do, shoot them in the face. Insta-kill. Also, the shortcuts in the final area are so good and cut out a huge amount of backtracking. You're not there yet, but just remember you need to activate both before the obvious boss fight (i.e. sinister looking empty arena near a recognizable NPC).

Yeah. In the beginning area there's a hulk standing next to a door, who keeps saying 'Dear Sister...'. There's alot you can infer from that alone...this game(And the Souls games) deliver in spades on indirect story-telling.

on the top floor of the building where you fought him, there should be a bridge that leads to a lamp and a new area.

spiders are jobbers. The little ones take like two hits. afaik only the two on the bridge / one outside of it aggro you when you grab the daggers, after that they just hang out in there looking menacing.
Activate the Ailing Loran chalice when you can, explore every inch for treasure to get ritual blood (4). Yoy have a chance to get Bastards of Loran from the chests in this area. Also i found a chest with a tool called the Arcane Extractor. I think it was in lower ptumeru? Maybe? It allows you to turn other materials into Arcane haze at the workshop
