Any tips for the
matyr
?

Parrying makes the fight trivial. He'll used a ranged attack to start the battle, so just hide behind some towers to avoid them until you can get close. Get within range of his scythe and he should take a swing. Just parry it and repeat. When I fought him the horizontal swing was the only move he ever tried outside of the opening ranged attacks.

Rom was easy, but I can barely touch this guy. Goddamn projectiles flying everywhere. Are the support even worth killing?

Haha I can't believe I didn't think of that. Thanks!

What do you mean? The dude is shooting at me trough the whole level

Oh, have you not climbed up to him? Sorry I figured you were on the fight with him. Throughout the level you just have to run for cover, and try and pull enemies out of the firing zones. I didn't have too much trouble with it. Once you kill him once he's gone for good.

So I made it to some sewer type of place after avoiding those giant hounds on the bridge, and that led to me eventually open a gate in Central Yarnham that was closed. I found two insights, so should I go back the hunters dream and go ahead and level up?

Anyways the whip cane wasn't for me and the saw weapon I really like, made things much easier.

So father g is whooping my ass when he gets to his second form..I stunned him once with the gun, but he hit me at the same time and couldn't get off the stab or whatever it's called. What's a good strategy for his second form?

You need to maximize damage while he's in his first form. So if you land several visceral attacks after a gun interrupt, then he'll transform into his second form with very little health left. Then you can just finish him off.

Alternatively, Father G's second form has several windows for you to attack safely. I recommend turning off lock-on and using rolls for dodges. I believe he has a 4 hit combo that leaves him open to attack. Also, try not to stray too far away from him, because that will trigger him to jump attack you, which is very hard to dodge.

Have you played Demon's before? Think Tower Knight. You definitely want to take out those bell maiden spellcasters first, then go back down and face him.

I'm trying not to spoil myself on anything, but need to ask a question. Does upgrading firearms increase their parrying ability/stun? I don't see a stat for it and could care less how much damage they do.

7th boss down! S
hadow of Yharnam was one cool boss fight, made it a routine to save and upload all my boss fights but found out that I ran out of space and could not save. I was devastated.
By far the boss I had to use the most vials against.

So about the
hunters roaming Old Yharnam
: There's the
hunter that operates a gatling gun on the roof of the tower and the hunter
on the ground below roaming around. These guys seem to have a ton of health, even more than the giants with the axes and ball n chains. I'm assuming since it takes so much to battle just one, when you slay them, do they stay dead or do they respawn? I'm asking because I was battling the one on the tower and even though he was kicking my ass, he fucked up and fell to his death. I turned off my PS4 since it stays in suspend mode now so I wasn't able to try this out for myself.

I fought him once but he attacked me immediately as I reached the top.
Whats the special thing?

Where do I go after Unseen Village?
I went up to the mummy in the room that opens after The One Reborn and now I'm doing the nightmare stuff but it seems like it's optional. Is this where I'm supposed to be?

I didn't bother killing the support.
IIRC if you do enough damage to the front legs it will topple over which lets you get some hits in. You can do this repeatedly. It kept toppling over and over for me which made it really easy.

So i'm at 84 and pretty happy with my character so far, i'm helping people at
Logarius
with 2 runes that make enemies drop more souls, don't know if it works on bosses but i'll try now. Gonna sacrifice a few points in stuff to get 15 arcane for the item
Old Hunters Bone
. Soo fucking cool.

Current stats
vit: 30
end: 25 (i do however use runes that give me better stamina, so i'll probably stay here)
str: 30
skill: 30
blo: 9
arc: 10

I'll probably stay at 100 since that seems like the most active spot for pvp. Probably gonna make a new character soon since outside of looking fashionable as shit, my character is pretty ugly.

Anyways, How is ng+? Some people seemed to be dissapointed.

Have you been able to get a good amount of pvp matches so far? I can see the meta being at 75 easily but 100 is also a good number

Actually there's a unique thing I discovered about this fight that trivializes it:

If you hit Rom in the side, that's his weak point, the baby spiders have the same weakpoint. I was running up to the side of those little bastards with my Hunter Axe and one shot killing them. I found it hilarious that the boss and the spiders share the same weakness.

I should have said flanking. I never actually went behind them either. Doesn't really change the fight though. I didn't have any trouble with him, but I also had the cane whip which has good range and can kill multiple enemies simultaneously.

They stay dead for good. Think of them as mini-bosses.

What do you have to do to get sedatives to be sold? It popped up for me in my first playthrough, but my friends did all the things I did but still can't buy them. I don't know how I triggered it.

You can kill the support dudes by going up the stairs. That takes out one annoyance.

For the boss itself I just stayed by its side and just hit with my longer ranged weapon and avoided his swipes. Really easy boss personally, I beat it first try. Since I beat it first try I didn't even see most of his attacks as I just hit him from his side. Sometimes you may need to go to his front if he staggers for a visceral attack.

Just killed
Witches of Hemwick, what a lackluster boss, worst so far.

Interestingly, I fought against a Wolfman in the 3 layer of my random Chalice Dungeon, I thought that battle was really lame but then, on the first layer of Central Chalice Dungeon I fought against the same boss in a different enviroment and the battle improved a lot, it was still easy but it left a better impression on me.

Yes, climb up the stairs at either end of the arena and eliminate the bell ringing witches. Be careful to listen for what TOR is doing, because he can attack you on the second floor. After that, go back to the ground floor and fight TOR one on one. Run when he drops the goop on the floor, and stick with one of his back legs. Run when he gives the tell for the exploding attack. Be patient and you'll get it.

Do you have the threaded cane? I keep him and me between a bunch of gravestones and my R2 can hit him while he attempts to attack me while being blocked by the gravestones lol.

I don't get hit for the first two phases.

Yeah, but Tower Knight support attacks you. These haven't.

There's really no reason not to kill them.
Is there a reason to, though?

I will try this.

btw, like many that finished said, the game is deffinately shorter than the souls games. im at 33 hours and a bit, give or take some afk time when I went to walk the dogs and whatnot, and ive done almost everything in the game. Ill probably finish it tomorow at around 35-36 hours. Im very average at these games, the first Dark Souls (my first souls game) took me 80 or so hours to finish (well, it WAS my first, I didnt know what the hell I was doing), DS2 took me about 40-50 if I remember because I was much more familiar with the systems.

I dont mean this as a slight on the game btw, just as a statement of fact. I think the lenght is perfect, but then again, I dont have THAT much free time these days, so im partial to games becoming shorter (not that 35 hours or whatever I finish it at is short lol)

I like it but I might be biased cause it's the pile driver from Armored Core.

One of its best advantage though is that in regular mode it hits fast and costs little stamina so you can keep hunters in hit stun till stamina empties, shoot them, and go back to hitting them.

Ha! Sounds perfect in every way =]
Thanks! Time to collect some blood!

If you want a cheap method,
knock them off lol. I did that without even intending to cheapen the fight. >.<

It's worth noting you don't have to kill them though, You can make him friendly if you do something specific.

What do you have to do to make him friendly? Any benefit to that?

two questions:

1. To get the best ending do you have to do anything other than
just HAVE the three umbilical cord items in your inventory?

2. Do you get anything of value from beating
Daughter of the Cosmos?

1) You have to consume them before the final fight.

2) She drops a Chalice type.
