Mergo's Loft: Base lantern. Take the elevator up, then take the 2nd elevator and jump through the opening when it comes up. There's an entire area for you to explore there but it's a bit difficult. I don't want to spoil any of the fun so if you don't find the rock after exploring this area I'll explain more. There's also another area you get to with a key where the boss fight was on the left side when first entering the misty area.
I hope a patch makes it so you can buy Bloodstone Chunks like how they patched in the ability to buy Twinkling Titanite in Dark Souls. So tedious trying to get them to drop.
I accidentally attacked her, then heard her out and decided to finish her off. I didn't trust the look of her to be honest. Has it cost me much for sidequests?
. This might be one of the most legit tense and scary parts of the game. The forboding atmosphere and tough enemies definitely were effective. I'm surprised it's an optional area.
Look up at the building, you should notice they only happen when it's glowing, something inside might be causing it ;p You can hide behind rocks to avoid it.
Just beat him! Had 2 vials left and no bullets. Used the long Axe and just chipped away at him while dodging constantly. Only got a few parries in too.
You can let him transform his Katana which drains his life, if you can get him to transform you can leash him and he'll slowly wander back to his spot, bleeding out, then just stand there and die.
It's cheap, but if you can't beat him normally.
Just finished New Game, NG+1 is disappointing so far, enemies just have more health and damage, can't see any changes in placement or type..The extra souls are nice but items are the same..What the fuck am I going to do with Coldblood (1) for 400souls? Cleric Beast had stupidly high HP but was still easier than fighting him low level on New Game. Heard there are no new items at all in NG+ and I'm better off just clearing Chalices.

Great, thanks.
Just need to farm echos first, my axe is starting to become weak, and I don't want to upgrade it anymore since it's already +3. Will get the Sword and then I'll upgrade it the max I can
Thats actually a pretty good area to farm imo. I circled around and had 20,000 by the end. There are some bigger enemies that you can visceral attack and get a lot of blood echoes from.
I also think the 'fake out' right before hand is brilliant. A weird ass alien mob with the perfect music to match, it's crazy to think that not only was this area optional but there is going to be a chunk of players who got here and never bust the window to see the rest.
Damn, the second playthrough (new char) I killed MWN
(Wet Nurse)
, she does way more abilities - going to assume it's because of my insight.
On my first kill of her, all I did was stay behind and she keep doing that moving forward slash ability, and that was pretty much it besides some teleporting and flying/charging.
Second kill, she did 360 twirls, way more spinning around, barely did the forward slash ability, had a purple phase where two of them appeared. Was a much much more interesting fight.
According to Destructoid, there are at least four "one-third of an umbilical cord" items, and you only need three for the true ending. I'm trying to get the Arianna one at the moment. I haven't met her yet, though. I think she's in one of the houses in what appears to be the cathedral ward's red light district, but all of the windows say "no response" now. This is after beating Rom.

small alley with 2 lights on opposite sides of the street, she's in the building at the end of the alley..if that's "no response" then you might be late.
Well that makes things a whole lot easier. Since I was able to get the boss down to less than a quarter of its life without any blood vials while I was being shot to death, I imagine that will make the boss doable without the need to farm (I have no vials left).
That boss is mandatory, so unless you have any optional areas discovered you're going to be doing this next. You can run to the back and to the right to find a staircase! It's a pretty easy boss when those enemies are dead and you stay mobile
So is ludwig's and axe hands down the best weapons in the game? I'm not even using them anymore, but I can' help but think it'd be a lot easier if I was.

I'm not entirely sure if you screwed yourself out of it, but she was at the very end house near the dead end for me if I'm remembering correctly. I did this before Rom though.
In any case, she is not needed for the three cords. One is gotten through normal progression, one can be gotten through a hidden area pickup and the last can be gotten through the clinic at the very end of the game.

Ah well. I still want to get the true ending. I know there are three other of those items, one of which is part of the normal progression loop. I got the one in the
Abandoned Workshop
, and I know I'll get another from
the Wet Nurse
. As for the in the
clinic
, I know that
Isofeka will turn ill and you can kill her for the cord at some point
. Is it safe to
check on her now and just leave if she's still hostile

Iosefka is on all fours in the clinic telling me she's not feeling well, with tentacles in her head or something like that. This is after I killed ROM, during the red moon. Am I supposed to kill her now for the umbilical cord or later?

I'm not sure if I have any optional areas left or not. is it possible to reach Cainhurst Castle at this point?
@Vire buddy do you know how spoiler tags work? Some people might need help, but don't want to be spoiled about names of bosses/locations/items.Just saying...
