Can anyone explain how coop works in the chalice dungeon? Do both people need the dungeon to summon? I created the first chalice dungeon and have gone to the boss but haven't beaten him yet. I tried to send my code to a friend and invite him but he got an error saying he does not meet the requirements. He has yet to beat the cathedral boss yet if that makes a difference. Can anyone tell me why it's not working or how can I summon him?

You must both have the chalice that you used to create the chalice dungeon. Then, before you enter the chalice dungeon you created, note the chalice glyph and give it to your friend. Then, you must both be on the same floor of the dungeon, and you can use the bells as you normally would.

In sword form, it has more damage output and speed than the hand axe.

In greatsword form, it has slower speed than the axe, yet better damage output.

I have to agree R2 attack of Ludwig Greatsword is pretty bad though. The damage output isn't worth the charging time at all.

The damage output if you land it is crazy. On boss, you can do a follow up R2 really fast afterward.
For mob, you can do R2(charged)=>Overhanded slam=>R2(Thrust or Charged).
In PVP, nothing lives through that combo since you can infinity stun if timed right.
If not, you will just do 3x heavy damage attack to the invader.

Bloodborne, where guns suck ass unless you're an NPC hunter. What horsecrap, never was like this in the other souls games. The npc versions where always fair.
Nope you can make your regular guns make Hand-cannon damage if you want to, just takes a bit more levels but it is compensated in ng+ with the enemy health.

I don't see what the hype is about this. Thing swings too damn slow.

I still haven't found a weapon better than the starting axe. :/

The Axe got me through the first 3 bosses but no way it's better than Ludwig. The Greatsword is a destroyer who's regular attack wipes mobs with ease. Its charge thrust does ridiculous damage from distance and its over the shoulder swings stagger pretty much any enemy -- most don't even get a hit in if I hit them first.

It really isn't even close when you factor in the superiority of Ludwig's bastard sword vs the short axe.

At the village, there's a section with dogs in cages, go past that into a cave. That's where you will find it.

Those are the attack stats for the weapons you have equipped in slot 1 and slot 2. Maybe the weapon in slot 2 hasn't been upgraded as much or doesn't scale well with your stats?
Hmmmm, guess I've been looking at this wrong lol

amygdala in defiled chalice is garbage. fire puppy was easy but this thing is giving me so much trouble. wonky camera and one-hit kills are no fun.

Does he have to be in the same exact chalice dungeon or just a chalice dungeon?

Needs to use the glyph you gave him so he can 'download' your dungeon, so yeah he needs to be in the exact chalice dungeon, that what glyphs are for.

I've been an Axe user since the start and love it but I am really damn curious about Ludwig's Blade (I have killed 5 bosses so far). How does it compare to the axe? Is it a little faster? Not sure I want to burn 20,000 echoes though just to try it out.

I think it's the best weapon in the game honestly. I'm not using it, but it's damage, range, and stagger potential is amazing. Only thing axe has over it is the R2.

I'm realising that maining the blade of mercy probably made my first playthrough a lot harder than if I'd gone with something that has more range and stagger capability like the holy blade

Is it possible to use a bold hunter's mark in a boss fight? I'm sitting on 60,000 echoes because ive fought this boss about 20 times and maybe if I can level up i'll actually beat it.

Yeah works fine, did it on loads of bosses up to and including the final one, you're not invulnerable during it though so get some distance first

yea, i fell in love with it. it's great for controlling mobs. if it scaled better, it would seriously be OP.

Third play through and now I'm using the Cane. Why... why did I wait so long for this. The jumping R2 is like the best move in the game.

Yep. It also staggers big stuff. Most big enemies don;t even get a chance to hit me because I just jump attack and back off until they're dead. My +9 cane is beastly.

it sucks for pve, short range, almost no staggering. but in pvp that thing is beast, specially if you put a bunch of poison gems.

Are there invisible walls in this game?

I think they're only in chalice dungeons.

Yeah that's kinda why I was using it. I'm kind of sick of it though so gonna trying out some other skill weapons like the rapier in the pvp focused build I'm working on now. Will keep blade of mercy as backup
