30 more minutes at work and then I'm rushing home to finish any loose ends, defeat the final boss and start NG+.

Praise the red moon!

It's great but
its a bitch to find. All the enemy designs there are amazing and the location is hard to boot. I loved it too
I stumbled upon how to get there by accident when I was traipsing back through a shortcut and found an area I hadn't been to before. My friend went to the same place and couldn't find the item you need to get there.

Cainhurst Castle
? Where is it?
Ok so,
use the forest to find your way back to the clinic at the beginning of the game (you'll know you're onthe right path because you'll find a poisonous lake with Giants in it. In that area is the ladder that leads to the clinic). Once there the explore and you'll find a letter telling you to go back to hemlock crossing I believe it's called. The crossing is the place of hemlock where those executioners roam and there a bunch of dogs just before the hill leading to where the witches were. From there...enjoy

Question about chalice dungeons: do the environments get more varied as you start using different chalices and ingredients? I feel like I seeing the same rooms over and over in the first 3 I've done

Heading back to town as soon as I've got the required stones to upgrade weapon :3

Okay I can now either fight VA or go to Hemwick.

Which is the easier to do at this point?
Hemwick might be.

see this post to help him

yes, each different tab has a unique theme going, but you'll still see a lot of repetition as you progress within these tabs

The environments have looked the same to me after 6+ dungeons of different Chalices (including H
intertomb
) but the room types are absolutely incredibly varied as you get into higher difficulty Chalices.

I do wish the environments varied across Chalice types though (like, P
thumeru
to H
intertomb
.

Maybe even further, they will? Ask Foffy. He'd probably know.

I thought it was too short. Maybe since it's much more beneficial to just run past the enemies, they don't follow you. That and how disconnected it is from the rest of the game. Kinda disappointing.

The night is dark and full of terrors...

It is, Melisandre. It truly is. *stares at the
Cthulhu looking motherfucker hanging off the Cathedral Ward building
*

Wow, that bitch in
Iosefka's clinic
was really fucking annoying. It took 3 attempts XD. Did anyone else have a problem with her?

I have been putting all experience into vitality and endurance and that seems to be going pretty well so far. I have defeated three bosses. Anyways, should I just continue as I have been, or will I encounter problems later on with my stats being lowish in other areas? I think I am playing as the veteran.
Look at your weapon in the inventory and examne the Attribute Bonus section.

This is the damage scaling stat. A better rank in a stat means the weapon's damage is linked to that stat. So a weapon that has a C rank in strength will get stronger whenever you get a new point in strength. A weapon with a B rank gets even more damage output from Strength than a C ranking would. Conversely, a lower rank gets a lesser increase in damage.

This holds true for all stat scaling except for Arcane. For arcane scaling you need to modify the weapon later on to have some sort of elemental damage output before the scaling takes effect.

That's one other thing you can be doing to level up your character. The other thing is upgrading your weapon, which IMHO, should take priority over leveling your character. Also, leveling weapons will sometimes increase the scaling rank. So keep leveling your weapons!

I finally sat down to play some more last night and took out Father G. It took me 5 tries before I was able to take him down. His first two forms are super easy but when he goes into beast mode, I get destroyed every time. Dude moves so fast and it is hard to create breathing room.

I eventually got pissed on my last attempt and stocked up on molotovs and fire bombed his ass when he transforms. Even that is difficult to pull off since a lot of throws result in a miss due to how fast he is. I kept trying to stun him with the blunderbuss and go in for a riposte but he recovers from it too quickly.

Glad I have him behind me. If I failed again I was going to just summon help.

So I went to
Cainhurst
and got my ass handed to me before I even got in the door.

What's the ideal level to attempt to tackle that place? Because from the outside, it looks incredible and I really wanna do it.

Enemies outside are much more difficult than inside

Does anyone know the location of Beast Claws? Really having a hard time finding this weapon in the chalice dungeons. Arghh.

Dumb question: is the Torch in BB different from DS2? As in, is it infinite or is it a short timed-use consumable?

It's a weapon this time rather than an item, so I'm assuming it's infinite?

Infinite, thank GOD. Hated the torch in DkS2, both for its uselessness in general and the stupid butterfly in a jar thing

god I hated DkS2

Haha I never run past unless I've already fully explored an area and I'm ready for the boss. You're absolutely right although you could run through almost every area of the game nearly unscathed.

My strategy involved using the (side quest item spoiler)
music box
to stagger him, going for easy charge attack followed by a visceral attack. That works to get him to half health in under 2 minutes, IIRC. The rest was just dodge like a mad man since the
music box
no longer works on him after 50% health, I think.

So I had my first long-distance remote play experience with Bloodborne this weekend. It was streaming from Cleveland to Columbus and was actually totally playable. Really awesome time, I played for like six hours with my roommate occasionally watching from home and commenting on the ass kickings I received.

During my session I discovered a ton of new shit:
farm village, that praying girl who transforms into a beast, some other path I need to explore that I think is also the farm village, and the secret village, which was fucking insanity.
I've also still got to finish my chalice dungeon. I feel overwhelmed by the options right now and it's really great.

Oh yeah I normally do that as well, but I was under the impression the enemies in that area would keep respawning

I never did find the music box. I just cheesed him in between the tombstones until he turned into wereman.

You could tell that the developers really wanted to ground the torch in reality; what with having to light it at bonfires unless you had the flame butterfly jars you mentioned so that you could light it anywhere. That combined with it being a finite burntime.

Problem was, you rarely needed it, and knowing it burned out fairly quickly dissuaded me from even using them where they could be handy and/or against monsters that feared fire.

And, well... the fact that the lighting changed completely before it was released. But I don't want to dig up those bad memories since I know it's a sensitive topic for some.

If you don't use the item then he only changes at ~%25 health remaining and can then be
stunned once by the music box

Cainhurst Castle
? Where is it?

Do you have the summons yet? If not go get it from
Iosefka's Clinic.
The entrance is near the
Witches, in the forest here you fought the axe guys.

So am i ment to be fighting
darkbeast Paarl
or am i in the wrong place?

How far are you? I'd recommend holding off for later since all that does is open up a shortcut and lets you buy an item you can find for free.

My favorite boss was probably (don't unspoil unless you've seen the final boss)
mergos wet nurse. She wasn't particularly difficult but I loved her design and fighting style. I also enjoyed that she took me to the shadow realm. I was ready to dual her with cards at that point.
