Where do I go after beating the wcompleting Hemwick and killing VA? I tried going to the right of the and cathedral but I just ran into a room with a locked door and one of those giant invisible frenzy things.

Rom discussion:

I don't know. I am pretty sure the ice chunks did home on me on some tries. If not home, then by very least I am 99% sure they were projected to hit me where I would be. At some times I was running a circle around, or at a tangent to the boss and they hit me. Or I would start rolling into one direction before they hit and they first ones would miss and the latter ones would hit.

Not sure if it's connected to my insight levels. When I started I had 15+, but I did lose some insight a few times to the sucka outside when farming echoes for more vials (pretty careless I know, that's what frustration does to you). And when did I beat Rom, I had less than 10 insight.

Also, staying close to the boss seemed to be the way I beat it, and it helps alot with the ice chunks.

But yeah, I am not calling anyone a liar here. Just an interesting thing, this boss and how for some it's the easiest ever and for some it's very very hard.

Had 36 insight and I found him to be the easiest boss so far. He rarely hit me and when he did, did pitiful amounts of damage except for his aoe explosion in his last phase. Would have beat him first try if I didn't use up so many vials on that crazy hunter before.

Hardest boss fight for me so far was M
artyr Logarius. Spent two hours on him, almost beat him but got greedy. http://imgur.com/nP0s76f took another hour and then gave up did Rom and came back.

There's a door in the cathedral town area that asks for a password. If you touched the skull in VA's room and saw the accompanying cutscene, you'll know the password.

Explore the gated area directly down the stairs from the grand cathedral.

Could you...
hint which area its in? I must have missed that door :(

Okay, I must be tripping balls, because now I'm seeing
blue big-headed aliens with neon hair that shoot laser beams.

It's close to where you find one of those octopus-head guys.

If you're coming from the direction of Vicar's area, head down the stairs to the big round plaza, and head right. Just follow the path from there (you'll see a Crow and those Insight sucking Octopus Head enemy there)

I just want to be home and play...

What qualifies as a visceral attack, and what doesnt?

Once you hear the sound queue go visceral.

Get behind enemy > strong attack until weapons goes *cling > visceral
Parry attacking enemy with correctly times weapon shot > hear the sound queue > visceral

One you go visceral, you can't get back.
Also....GET REKT TRYING muahaha

ed: oh yes, stagger is that word

Oh yeah I came across a path in the
Forbidden Woods
that led to me to what can only be described as blue
aliens
that look hilarious. They fling fucking magic though so that puts me off going there completely.

damn.... who in the previous pages said abhorrent beast is not hard? o_o

I definitely never found a consistent way to dodge them due to their semi-homing nature. What worked once didn't work the other time. Sometimes I'd get hit twice by them while still hugging his body. It was the luck of the draw for me.
The AI almost seems confused the more people are there at once. I got summoned along with someone else for VA and it pretty much just looked at us and wasn't sure what to do.
they need to learn a thing or two from MH

Ok so given the R
om
stuff more thought.

I'm nearly 100% sure its a bug when they
don't home in
and here's my logic

W
et Nurse bug locked her into a couple of her most basic attacks. Now I think about it I'm not even sure he did his AOE attack. I was running in on a slight angle and watching them drop at my feet. When I was close and he did it again I ran away and they dropped behind me somewhere.

Here where the penny sort of just dropped
why was he doing his ice shard attack when I was in close? Like hitting distance close. Second run he seemed to favor the AOE in that situation, or even his wacky roll on the side attack. That also seems verified by others. So going back to Wet Nurse, she had a couple of basic attacks, but her moveset is far more varied then Roms what, 3 or 4 attack, so she was locked into doing maybe 2

So i think the same bug hit and locked him into his most 'basic attack', which apparently also didn't work properly.

With all that said I'll be quite happy to be proven wrong

Whew. Gotta stop thinking about this stuff.....

Can't for the life of me find the Cleric Beast....

Run into Father Gascoigne instead..

Get him to a sliver of health, go for the killing blow: YOU DIED.

Lose 5000 bloods, but at least I know he's beatable at my current level!
Didn't use the music box either...didn't have it equipped :P

Man, Abhorrent Beast. Jesus Christ the difficulty ramp up in these Chalice Dungeons is fucking ridiculous

Edit: lol the post above me. Care to share?

Blood comes and goes, but PREY SLAUGHTERED is what stays. Go get him!

They seriously look like something out of a kid's cartoon. The enemy designs in this game are out of this world (heh).

Longarius was so easy. Wait until he attacks and roll left towards him. Attack and back off, repeat until he's dead.

I also had the issue with the(very late game boss)
Wet Nurse only using two types of attacks. I looked her up afterwards because I couldn't believe she was so easy and apparently there's a supposed to be a clone form? Lol.

ongarius
was easy for me too. But on NG+, he had some new Attacks and was in "Berserk Mode" all the time. Hardest fight for me, after
Gehrman
. Maybe it was because i had 99 insight and not because NG+, i dont know.

a cheese way? nah, wont feel right even if i win. would welcome a legitimate way though ;p

weight potion so he doesnt stun, not cheesy :p just using what the game has to offer ( still stuns sometimes but its much easier ) i had a lot of points in hp so i could kinda "tank" some hits

lol when i was fighting her i got killed by her void clone form 2 so i looked it up on youtube. watched 2 videos where she just normal attacks the whole fight like an idiot. said "screw it" and go back... beat it myself.

I just began NG+, so I'll find out later.

That does not work all the time, he will do a second attack to catch you if you try to attack out of a dodge as he normally has a multi combo string (and each of the attack leaves an after image).

That strategy would work if the boss is glitched and he does the same attack over and over again probably due to low Insight. Otherwise the only way to really counter attack him is if he does his lunge attacks, dive bombs or other laggy scythe moves.... or you can try to parry him which is the best option IMO because even if you trade with his first hit you still come out on top (you heal the life you lost and deal big damage to him).

Defiled dungeon? Had the same thing happen. Don't recall him doing the arm rip thing though. What's the stats like on that scythe and your stats if you don't mind me asking. You're doing way more damage then I was with the saw sear. Though I was mostly wacking his tail.

Here ya go. Figured this would be easier than me typing it all out. He rips his arms off after the second visceral attack. Did you just keep going for his tail majority of the time? I tried doing that but kept getting stepped on. Came so close to beating him.

I just began NG+, so I'll find out later.

A new Attack was
that he spawned a "stick" on the ground, which was constantly shooting red missiles at me. I had to attack the stick to destroy it. He was doing this a couple of times. Any1 seen that on a first playtrough or with not that many insight?

It was his second stage I had problems with. Specifically his melee combo when he hit it.

Got unseen village now which I've heard is horrible.

Did that for me in NG but had 30+ insight. Can shoot it with your gun also but if he was near the sword I'd attack both with same swing.

Well he doesn't always do the same attack sure. He always starts off swinging from the same side. Hence why I use the invincibility frames to get behind him, hit him a few times then retreat. It even works on his berserk mode. As long as you're completely behind him it should be fine.
