Loved that moment.

Doesn't he play quite a big role in the Flash universe from memory?

Not really, just RF's ancestor. People thought early on given his name that they might just be making him RF since a modern day character couldn't have a name like Eobard. It's Eobard that's a big part of it.

I said it last night in the mix of the show but it deserves to be said again. I love this show, but Iris being the only one to not know Barry is the Flash is kind of comical at this point. Literally the only one on the show that doesn't know at this point. But hey, it's for her safety.

Hmmm, so original face Eobard came back in time to kill baby Barry, failed, got trapped and decided that to get home, he'd create the Flash himself 5 years early, so that probably means his plan is to kill Barry in the present once he's fast enough to get him home....so does that mean we're not going to see Barry go back in time and try to save his Mum?

so the year is 2020?

It's 2015. When Thawne fights The Flash in the past it's 2000. Thawne gets left in 2000 but he knows that Wells invents a particle accelerator in 2020 but can't (or doesn't want to) wait that long. So he tracks down and kills Wells and hijacks his appearance, using his own future knowledge to build the particle accelerator in 2014.

How did he make that device to change into wells tho ? don't think its possible to make it with current tech and why would he bring it if he didnt expect to fail

It's called genetic camoflauge and it's tech from centuries into the future. Always better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it

Thanks!

Going to rewatch the episode to read up on stuff. Shit is happening so fast, hard to keep up.

yeah but i mean

you can't make a smartphone with tech from 1950,if he didn't bring it when going back in time to kill barry how did he make it then ?

he could carry it all the time but i just found it weird

Just assume he carried it on his person's

Maybe a few other gadgets

Like his shiny newspaper and floating head companion

MAGNIFICENT EPISODE. I died at SW reference moment, someone needs to add SW music in that scene. :D Revelations about Thawne were Wells, Iris is only one who doesn't know, Speed Force sequence was awesome, and Hamill killed it as Trickster.

Although I am kinda pissed they marked season teaser as a ep18 teaser. I saw more than I wanted [still, it was glorious].

When was the Reverse Flash's first appearance in our actual timeline (the show after the pilot)

Ep9

[did anyone make gif of Barry spotting Reverse Flash on the building across him?]

Is anybody else thinking that for season 2, the writers have now given themselves a way to keep Tom Cavanagh on the show? If Barry succeeds in going back in time and saving his mom, when he returns the real Harrison Wells will still be alive, right? So theoretically they can have good Wells be in charge of Star Labs?

Literally thought about this this morning. I could totally see that happening.

It would save Tess, too.

That's kind of how I saw it. It also still leaves the potential for an eventual run in again with RF in the real timeline. It makes an awesome season but still leaves things open to deal with moving forward. Not a bad way to do it.

He won't save her. It's too early for Flashpoint storyline.

I hope Cavanagh will remain on the show because Thawne will simply not be able to reverse his body back [broken tech, or some even locking his cells into permanent state or some other comic booky explanation].

I'm not even mad. I like him.

But if Barry succeeds, the accelerator doesn't get built until 2020. Also, theoretically without Barry hunting his mother's killer, he never meets Ollie and the Star Labs team never synthesizes a Mirakuru cure.

I love how they executed the doubt that got planted in viewers' minds when we saw the Eobard Thawne reveal. We started to question whether he was the bad guy and siding with Barry - to see the best in him.

And just when we think that there's an evil Reverse Flash and Wells is possibly doing this all for good, we see Eobard facejack the real Wells, showing that he's been the same guy all along. Fuck.

It would be hard to explain how Wells, without Thawne, would have this vast array of knowledge. Wells is so smart because he's from the future.

The villains in this are all ham central, and I love it.

P.S. I def thought Axel had the hots for the original Trickster with all the fawning, then we got that paternity bomb, and it got awkward. XD

Oh man that was the weirdest thing. It was like little Trickster was about to jump his bones.

Add that to Wells (I still call him wells out of habit) describing the speed force and you have more sexual tension in this episode than a Snowbarry fanfic.

Is that CG or animation? I figured it was CG, but parts actually look animated.

It's 3D CG models. They look great most of the time but can sometimes look "rubbery" when bending into exaggerated positions.
