Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

Yeah, saying "one shot" in replace of "first try" is stupid. In any game, one shot has always meant killing in one hit, or in some cases, an enemy being one shot away from death (ex: Halo or COD)

I bet you that most people who have played MMOs will disagree with you. Saying "one shot" to describe killing something in one attempt has been an extremely common term for like 20 years. Before Halo and CoD even existed.

Uhh, I just entered Cathedral Ward and found a note talking about

.
As someone with
arachno
phobic tendencies I feel like this is the point of the game where I need a complete list of all the places in this game where you encounter those vile creatures. Is there such a thing, which doesn't spoil the rest of the game?

To say anything would spoil large portions of the game. Just know, you're in for it :)

I'm done with this game. Probably never going to play it again. There is no reason to beat this game again. The lack of content & quality of content in this game is abysmal.

Chalice dungeons are the most half ass way of trying to add content to a game I've ever seen. I had to force myself to beat them all just so I could say I did everything in the game. They are excrutiatingly boring. Instead of building a beautiful robust world & putting these bosses in them, you have to play through these god awful cookie cutter dungeons to fight some of the best bosses in the game.

Most disappointing game ever for me. I practically bought a PS4 just for this & the game lasted me two weeks & only 4 chatacters. It's so bad I want to scream. Unbelievably disappointed with this game

"I played this game for two weeks straight, at least 4 times through and did everything it had to offer. Game sucks!"

Only on gaf

Oh boy, there's a couple of areas later that's gonna be a bit hard for you. Honestly, I ran past the worst of it in the mandatory section but you're still gonna have to kill a few. There's an optional area that has some spider like creatures that you're probably best to avoid entirely. You can run past them and get indoors without engaging if you want to do that section. *shudders*

I think it's more inappropriate for an action game then anything else.

I finished the game this morning and I'm not sure if I should do NG+ or make a new character with a skill focus (instead of strength with my current character). Any recommendations?

By the way... I really hope we get DLC on par with DS1's. I need more Bloodborne ASAP.

At BSB. I summon the NPC, and another player appeared with him. Can't lose right? They both fucking died in seconds and then he came at me like crazy and I died. Wtf! Am I under leveled or something?

Vitality 21
End 17
Strength 12
Skill 11

My saw spear is +3 but I can't upgrade it more without twin shards, which I haven't found. What should I be upgrading or doing?

hahahaha .... this is weird..... my stats are kinda similar to yours and i didnt had a problem at all with him.

Got the platinum trophy for this one and my god , the cursed chalice dungeon , the one you have half hp is the hardest part of the game in my opinion. The fight against gerhman is one of the most badass boss fights ever in my years of gaming, the dialogue, the place, the soundtrack and that amazing fast pace gameplay. It felt like a dance.

So I'm through four bosses and one chalice dungeon. This game has basically revived my love of gaming that has been dead for like a year. I love everything about it. I just feel so much wonder and amazement playing this game. I...am so happy when I play it. I desire to play it, to start it up, to progress, in a way I haven't felt in so long. When I'm not playing it, I am wanting to play it. And when I'm playing it, I'm thinking about all the things I want to do. Hats off.

This is exactly what I experienced. Haven't been this engrossed and mesmerized by a game since Half-Life 2. Did not expect that to happen, I want to hug this game for the sheer wonderment it instills in me.

It's not at all inappropriate. A shot = a try and it's a completely appropriate term to an RPG like Bloodborne, which like MMORPGs, where it can take many attempts and reps to kill a boss.

Also given that you generally don't shoot things to kill them in Bloodborne and are usually hitting things to death - One Hit Kill, OHK, seems more appropriate.

Is there a defense to end boss G
ehrman's 1-hit kill move where he jumps in the air and throws his weapon at you? Every once in a while, it only does 90% damage, but still... I roll dodge, but I get hit every fucking time. Really fucking frustrating when I have him down to 2-3 hits and he pulls that bullshit.

There is a set of stairs leading down to a small underground room with a chest beyond the giant with a big ball on a chain in church ward. Next to the chest is a door. How do I open it?

Is than anything you are supposed to do with the alter in the room where you kill
Ebrietasus
when i click on it is prompts me, but the only option I have is to "do nothing".

Also, if I killed the
gatling guner
did I f- up the
Eileen
quest line, I keep hearing that he affects some quest line but I dont know which.

I can't say enough about the new Gem/Rune systems. I think they're brilliant. Hope they do it again if there's a sequel

Since it's my first time playing, should I go out of my way to get the true ending, or just let whatever happen happen?

fwiw I'm not planning on playing NG+ Getting my ass kicked once is enough for me :P

Seems like it would work best when you first encounter him and have some time to deal damage before he calls his buddies.

I kicked roms ass in about that time and actually recorded it. Fight was much easier than I expected. I died once on him, but then went back and handled business. Will upload vids later if anyone wants to see.

Hey guys, is there a quicker path to get to A
mygdala
?

There is elevator almost right next to the lamp which leads to the boss area directly.

Tonight's the first night the loading screens have started to irritate me. I don't mind that I'm on attempt 30+ at VA, but I do mind that the loading takes longer on every attempt than it does to run from the lamp to the boss fight.

I'm out of both! Where can I get more? They aren't available in hunters dream.

After you beat Father Gascoigne, another Hunter appears in that same spot after some time.

He killed me a few times but on one attempt he was inside a wall and I was able to kill him. But did I miss an important drop or anything? Because I can't reach it or even tell if he dropped anything at all.

helps

There's a major non optional boss that will be a nightmare for you.

If you reload the area, the loot *should* be on the spawn point of that hunter. It's what usually happen when you miss loot.

NPC: dude that is sleeping
Where do you recommend me to go then?

The altar is used to end someone else's questline.

I do not think that messes up
Eileen's
questline, where are you at with her?

Lack of any real hit stun still annoys me. Player can get locked out, but so many enemies are just immune. Just attack straight through a string.

I am so confused right now.

First, I pulled some lever in the N
ightmare
of M
ensis
that caused some
bound brain to be lowered into some pit. I then took an elevator down into some abyss and found it
.

Then I went back to the Cathedral Ward and
Arianna was missing, with a blood trail leading from her chair down to the basement. I now realize that those enemies I saw in Upper Cathedral Ward were fetuses. I killed it, but she also died in the process
.

I then went up and killed whoever was left.

this is my 4th playthrough and I screwed it up the previous 3 times (1st 2 times I killed her in
grand cathedral after Rom
and 3rd time I completely forgot to talk to her)

This time I just killed BSB on NG+ on my 2nd char. I spoke with her prior to FG. I have also kiled the Gatling Gunner and the other NPC hunter at the base of the tower.

Ok... gonna ask for help again. Against W

I'm level 74 by the way.

Could someone please help me?

Ha sorry, didnt see it posted earlier.

Anyways, I'm still just started out on the Forbidden Woods and want to play it slow because I feel like the end is close (since people are clocking in around 30-35 hours). So I'm largely done with this thread since I guess most of you are well past me/finished now.

DLC potential and sales are all I'm curious about now, but I have to say, I can't recall the last time a single game has resulted in so many threads on GAF.

Just beat

harnam
first try <3
Holy shit, what a boos fight! I didn't know they'd
transform
, so I hacked the two
melee
away, and that made the fight that much harder. Thankfully, it made me wary of the
mage
, so, after taking down the
katana
dude, I kept him at bay with my trusty pistol while I made the other take distance, and then closed in and stun locked him to death.
Then, it was just a matter of not letting the other invoke the
huge snake head
and using i-frames to keep from taking damage from that damn long range
weird whip like weapon
.

It was beautiful. I love this game.

Her death
has no connection with that.
Maybe there's a rotten apple among the people you invited there.

I'm wrong, ignore

Probably my 15th try on A
mygdala
now, whenever I am underneath it trying to hit its arms I am getting crushed. Even behind it. Did they change something about this boss fight with the update? Strategy videos on YT look so easy...

I'd say you're about 1/3 of the way through, assuming you've done all the optional stuff you can so far.

It depends on what you want to do. If you don't care about the circle-jerk PVP meta game on like gamefaqs and reddit where people are trying to decide between level 100 and level 120 builds specifically for a PVP community then just keep going with your current character.

Both Strength and Skill are good for almost every single weapon and you shouldn't worry about how high level you are. Every stat (except Endurance) is worth taking to 50 if you use weapons that use it.

Personally, I went 50/40/50/50/50/50 just so I could play with every weapon and item.

Every weapon except for the Blade of Mercy (Skill only) and Logarius' Wheel (Strength only) use both Phys ATK stats for scaling and it's good to have both. Bloodtinge is good for guns, especially the Cannon and Evelyn, and really important for the Chikage.

And Arcane, well personally I feel that Arcane is total garbage. The weapons with +Arcane damage innately barely get any bonus ATK from it and turning your weapon into a Arcane/Bolt/Fire weapon and using its Arcane scaling gives you *far* lower ATK than pure Physical weapons. The Arcane items also are pretty bad, imo. Especially the one that requires 40 Arcane to use - it's completely useless. The best one is the Arcane Buff item that works like Fire/Bolt Paper and only takes 15 Arcane to use.

Having 209 base Item Discovery at 50 Arcane is kinda nice though. 430 with all 3 Eye Runes equipped. Enemies almost always drop stuff at that high.
