I'd get vit to 50 for sure, and wear HP runes to avoid being instant killed by certain attacks.

I was so glad to find out about those runes earlier. Typically Fromsoft that the +15% one would be hidden in the chalice after defiled though. I'm gonna rock the other two and a minus 4% damage rune on my next run and see how it goes. That watchdog can wait until the grind though, hated him even before defiled.

It kind of blows my mind that Forsaken Castle Cainhurst is an optional area. Definitely my favorite part of the game so far. It has great loot, atmosphere, level design, offers a change artistically, etc.

Getting closer to the end I am kind of seeing potential build options open up here and there. There's definitely a few weapons here I'd like to dedicate whole characters around. Even though the variation isn't as huge as the prior games, there's still a bunch of cool ass weapons and builds I want to work with.

Bells have a huge advantage over signs -- while you're waiting (either as summoner or summonee) you can just go have fun clearing the level.

With signs, you were stuck waiting in the 'popular' areas running towards signs, hoping they didn't disappear, and that the summons worked. You couldn't leave the immediate area.
you could do that to in dark souls.
okay, sometimes summonin failed, but you didn't have to wait.

but it would all be different, if those stupids bells would work

can you even farm insight?
like you could humanity?

shack in forbidden woods, to the right of the gate to the shanty town

Beat
Father G. Buy Cathedral key. Go to the hemlock WP and get Tonsil stone from NPC to the right of there. Go to lesser Amagdala to the right of Cathedral. Get teleported to Lecture hall level 1, go to nightmare plain. Kill Amagdala.

so what now? :D

forbidden woods or hemwick(that's what you meant with hemlock right?)?

Clear the adds, seriously. It's tedious but it makes the focus on Rom very safe

You have to clear him. Alternative zone you could visit : hemwick village for example if that is not done yet ?

I killed the witch. Couldn't find anywhere after that and ended up at ROM. Google isn't coming up with a hemwick village?

If you didn't do the first one yet I'd put on visceral runes for that since it's easy to parry. But yeah watchdog is the main issue, I think the third boss is piss easy.

I wish there was a way to disable the blood splatter on clothes.

Is wanting to remain a Dapper gentleman too much to ask these days ?

Such are the modern times we live in.

ROFL, got Defiled Watchdog to sliver of life and I died. So close!

Sounds familiar.

Man this game really is short. I know it was my second playthrough but I beat it in 22 hours with my second character, only skipping one optional area.

Still haven't beaten my first playthrough yet. 50+ hours...and very few of the bosses have given me much trouble. There's just a crap tonne to see, collect and explore in this game. But I'd imagine once you know it, it'd be much quicker.

Holy shit I'm ge wrecked by
Rom
. What level should I be to fight him?

It's in the technique not the level. Your only concern for level is the minions. If they can OHKO you from full health get more vitality, otherwise just keep moving. If he's surrounded bait them out briefly. If you need to heal roll out and do it then roll back in if it's super crowded.

It's part luck too but it doesn't play like other fights at all. Just don't stand still and don't try to get a flurry in unless you're very clear, which you rarely will be.

Does anyone else find this easier than Dark Souls? Maybe it's the encouraging go in hard play style that makes it seem more relaxing than Souls' sit back and wait play, which by no means is bad, but this still feels so good that seems easier (Don't know if I'm making any sense :s)

Worked now (you wrote an "i" instead of "j" earlier :)). I tried to ring the bell (using the GAF passcode), but it didnt connect here either : Maybe it has something to do with the levels not matching up?

If you still need help, i can try.

I'm good, I got the pattern down

Regarding Iosefka:

Should I fight her or just wait until I kill Rom? I think I pissed her off by getting too close to her room before I've fought Rom. Maybe it doesn't matter?

Okay I've reached the point where the game is fighting back. It's generally been pretty easy but now I'm getting destroyed.

Basically, I'm in Y
ahar'gul and I can't beat the three hunters that are blocking my way. They all aggro immediately and I've died at least 10 times to them now

Any tips?
Run past them all and make a right outside the building then another right to run down a pathway with pillars. Then, Go back and lure the closest one to you using a pebble or a long range gun shot BACK to the area where you ran to. Now you can fight one on one. Do the same with the remaining hunters. They don't respawn.

Thing is the vast majority of weapon types from the previous games are accounted for, just there is only one variant of them whereas before they'd have a few with slightly different movesets and stat requirements. I think the only real lack of variation here as opposed to previous games is down to less magic options

If you entered her room she is hostile now, doesn't matter anymore if you kill her before/after Rom. You missed out on 1 of 2 missable cords, so maybe you want to make sure to get the other one.

I'm wanting to run a SKL/BLT build, most likely with the Evelyn and Reiterpallasch for some baller double shootbang action.

I'm letting STR and ARC fall by the wayside, of course, but my question is: between BLT and SKL - for maximum gains/viability - should I emphasize one over the other, or should I level them both equally?

Also, the Reiterpallasch's D scaling for BLT; is that referring to physical attack only? i.e. is there a "hidden" (and hopefully better) BLT scaling for its gun mode?

Much obliged, Gaf.

So I'm currently in the Lower Pthumerian Chalice Dungeon level 4 and there is this round room with 2 chests in it, when I look up there is an item on a higher level, but as far as I can tell it's unreachable, I've been doublechecking every room for the last 20 minutes. The only possibility I can think of is that I will find a way there after the boss room, but that seems unlikely. Has anyone else managed to obtain this item?

Weird... I could get into the boss to help somebody else... so my co op is working but just not when I'm hosting the game.

Sad the guy got killed when we reached 1/4 of the boss's health... it was a time that I needed to recover from damage :(

I'm trying with no sucess either.
Jesus... Blooborne's biggest enemy is its own server! What a garbage!

Rom

1) Clear most of the minions on the 1st attempt (if not all) so you can wreck him and you can hit him while he's teleporting. I cleared about 70% of them. You should get him to about 50-60% health after this wave.
2) Make a B-Line for him and try to get hits on him before he quickly teleports a last time.
3) Once you get him to about 25% or after his 2nd/last teleport, be very very patient and only hit him once then back off. Repeat until death.

I wouldn't doubt it. It was like that in previous games, too:

Yeah, that might be it. I have noticed that my stats are getting scaled (at least HP) when i've done some summons though. I assumed that maybe the game would allow a much wider range of level summons, and that the game just scaled the levels, trying to bring both players on a more even skill level (as far as levels goes that is).

Cool :)

I'm still not quite sure how a bloodtinge or arcane build would work. The presence of gems confuses things as well. There will definitely be some interesting possibilities once people start working out builds and whatnot over time. I'm excited to replay a new character and try and get some of the late game items earlier than you're expected to.

What!? No! What are those?

Okay, I can finally help someone with locations!

To get to Cainhurst Castle, make sure you have the Cainhurst Summons from Iosefka's Clinic, then go to Hemwick outside of the Witch's Abode, where a cutscene will happen.

To get to the Upper Cathedral, warp back to the Unseen Village (the area before those 3 hunters, run upstairs past the crazy lasers & jump down to your left just before the next set of stairs. You'll fall into a cage where you'll find the Upper Cathedral Key, which opens the door to that area in the Cathedral Ward that you have to take the elevator up to.

Thanks will try this later

This will contain spoilers regarding the end game stuff so its up to you :) Wait till
kill the wet nurse. She will drop a third of the umbilical cord.. The wet nurse drops 1/3, 1/3 is at the old abandon workshop and either Iosefka will drop 1/3 or the whore if she is at the chapel. She will be in the basement after giving birth to berserk looking thing :P You will have to kill it. I am unsure if the whore will drop one if you send her to the clinic or not.

if you are still good on the whore questline you can kill, I think she drops I rune. If you messed up the whore questline you need to wait after rom to get your 3rd umbilical cord. You will know you are good on the whore questline if she is in Oedon chapel and gives that thing that heals you and increases stanima regen.

Some good progress made today.

Finished off Eileen's quest, cleared out Cainhurst Castle, killed M
artyr
L
ogarius
, and finished off Alfred's sidequest.

Alfred's storyline is pretty great. Made me feel very guilty about killing L
ogarius
.

Also, thanks to GAFfers knitoe and Rurunaki for offering to help me with L
ogarius
. I eventually found a random and we wrecked him on our first attempt. Here's a video of the fight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXiH5gCQ8GM
