Yeah this, I'm fightin it alone now.

I just lock on and stand in front. Lure him to attack with his head. Step back so he misses and immediately strike his head. Do that until his new moveset comes in and he's doing combo moves with his head. Now lure him into doing the foward lunge head move. dodge and hit head. Repeat until dead. If your really patient you could just wait until he pukes fire and attack.

Yep, talked to her there, then I've been periodically going back to the tomb and there's no one there.

I'm actually playing on a second character after restarting the game, but in my first game I actually triggered the tomb event without talking to her at the chapel. With that character I was too low level to get through the fight so I was hanging back when I returned after dying and she bit the dust, so I had her badge, but obviously couldn't finish the questline
or the hunter she was fighting.
I'm thinking that maybe because I waited until I was higher level in with my 2nd character that I beat a boss or enter an area that stops the event from happening.

But as I said I'm done holding back on trying to progress for this, I'll try again in NG+.

yea that's pretty weak man. I had the same feeling, I was at the tipping point and ready to just move on, before I finally found her out there.

try fire paper and attack her weak leg.

where exactly?
and when?

jep.
wasted, I think 8 insight in old yharnam.
started a new character for a jolly cooperation playthrough.

worst is, it always tells me, that it fund someone, but they won't join.
fellow gafer told my, that the game told him that it found me, but then he got an error message.

the whole bell system is crap anyways.
summon signs were way better.
at least then you knew there was someone there you could summon.
and you could take a look at them first.

npc summons have a sign on the ground, so why not everyone?

hope they fix that.
at least the fact that you loose insight, even if no one joined.

didn't dark souls 1 have a simular problem in the beginning?
with the cracked red eye orb?

At the CW lamp, just run straight through and outside. Then turn immediately left where there is a railing with a bench, a bunch of boxes, and 3-4 statues. she should be right there. I killed
Cleric Beast, Father G, BSB, and DBP
(and spent 1-2 hours running back to the beginning and speaking to her in her orignial spot) before I did it. One thing that might make a difference is that I had really searched around, and found every shortcut in the gate area that leads up to the VA gate.

Funny, that's what I'm doing myself. Looks like we had the same idea.

How are you supposed to effectively combat the
singing eye brain
enemies?

Rush them before the inevitable frenzy takes hold. Make sure you're at full health too just as a safety precaution. It's a bit sloppy but I haven't found a more effective strategy yet.

The Ashen set ups your frenzy resistance too, which may help some.

Run up and swing away, kill them fast and then pop a sedative. Also make sure you're wearing the best frenzy resist armor, which I THINK is the crow set.

that +200 frenzy resist rune works wonders. You find it (believe it is called Dea Sea) in the Forbidden Woods in the area with the puke spitting giant mounts of snakes (there are 2 of them guarding it)

Is the satisfaction of the Plat is worth grinding through soul crushing Calice ?

It's really not that bad, just kind of boring. You'll just totally breeze through the first few of them and then kind of slam your face into a wall when you hit the Defiled Chalice. Then after that is the final one which seems easy by comparison and you get a well designed, fun last boss fight.

Going through them for the Platinum isn't really a big deal. It's doing them after that that really crushes your soul. Running them more than once is just insanely dull and they're just not a fun thing to run over and over again. The best thing to do to get the most out of them is to check out the spreadsheets people have made for them and use a Glyph Code to load up a Dungeon with whatever Weapons and Runes you want to get.

After that the only reason to do them is to farm for high level Blood Gems which are really powerful, but kinda pointless. No real reason to do it beyond absolutely min-maxing your character. I guess if you were SUPER SERIOUS about PvP you'd do it to get the best ones possible to get an edge over other players.

or if you want to gear for NG++++++ lol

kill them as fast as you can.
then let the frenzy bar decrease before going for the next.

frenzy res armor and runes help too.
It scared me! How was I supposed to know that the giant ass spider chilling on the door was friendly!?

but it didn't even attack you.

but to be honest:
after I saw it was patches, I killed it anyways.

I don't remember getting any cords and I have killed Rom already, which was the last boss I've killed. I came in through the cave of poisonous waters and 3 giants from the Forgotten Woods, and I opened the door to get there from the very first lamp during that time. So far I just talked to her but she didn't seem sick... I guess I can try to swing at her now haha

Theres a few more bosses before you get to that point ;) Keep on murdering things till
the wet nurse which will drop the first 1/3 cord

Should I consume these or not what's the pros and cons

I wonder if they plan to fix the issue with enemies being too small = you can't hit them... I really hate this. Even if we are on level plane, the targeting system doesn't work well against enemies too small, like small individual snakes/ga'uld or that small mud thing in the chalice dungeon. Game's weapon swing just goes slightly above. You'd think that even though you are looking at it, your character would be smarter and aim lower. :/

Finally fucking downed the second boss in the Defiled Chalice. Easily up there with the Flamelurker and Ornstein as Smough as the toughest boss fight I've ever had. Took me maybe 30 attempts. Dread to think what the next boss is like.

Thanks for that tip. I almost killed him using parry... but it looks like that in the end the parries just can't connect, then he hitted me with his scythe, and KO'd me! =/

Personally I am horrible at parrying and at that point in the fight
try to dodge his attacks more. Hit and run, spam molotov cocktails when required. I couldnt parry any of his moves during the second phase. Try to parry him in the beginning to save your blood vials for the last half of the fight. If you are going to fight the secret boss, you can let the Moon Presence kill you to restock and the next time you go there, it will still be the battle with the Moon Presence

I felt the same way. I ended up having two of them follow me at once, and then went back for the third. I have no idea how someone can do this by tackling all 3 at the same time.
I actually did fight them all at once; I don't know how I did it, but I beat them first time out. I just fought for my life lol; I did backstab one of them first, and my cannon came in handy. I was extremely lucky lol.

Ok, I'm confused as fuck, lol.

Finally killed BSB. Returned to hunters dream, spoke to old guy, who said to go to the cathedral.I went there and didn't know where I should go. So I went up the stairs past a big fucker with an axe. Killed him. The gate up top is still locked though. So I start heading down and run into a guy with a body bag that fucking owns me....bad. Then a cutscene and I'm in the unseen village. I lit the lantern, killed two pigs, got a weapon called tonsillitis or something, lol. I also saw a scared lady in a basement. Where the hell should I be going?

I'll pay attention to that too!! Thanks for that advice!! =)

Tried of trying to farm vials. I'm gonna try and beat Defiled Watchdog with no vials

Load up the Witch's Abode lamp and make your way to the other lamp, killing everything in between. Will take you around 5 minutes and you'll earn 8+ viles (mostly from the giants with the armor and big blades), plus around 20k to buy even more vials. One run is usually enough to sort you out for a few boss attempts.

Any reliable way to dodge
Rom's blue missiles?

Lock on to one of the smaller spiders, and just keep dashing to the side. For me this effectively avoided all the blue missiles.

Just found out you can summon
father G during the cleric beast fight,
scared the sh*t out of me when I first saw him standing next to the beckoner

That's why you have vertical attacks ;)

Just did the first chalice before heading off to bed. It was pretty fun. Very easy but I assume I'm extremely over-levelled(level 60 atm).

The 3 hunters in Unseen Village...how the hell...

I actually didn't have much of a problem with them.
Charge/visc attacked the first and then finished him off before he even turned around.
Run back outside and 1 of the two will stop following. Fight and kill him.
Then you can sneak up on the third and do some heavy damage before he even notices you..and then finish him off.

reached
nightmare frontier
the game tried to have somebody invade me but since putting the ps4 on rest breaks the game I got kicked out of the game. Fucking beautiful. Regardless I had reached my stopping point.

i'm at what i believe is the end of the game and i haven't seen c
astle
c
ainhurst
and maybe one more area
the locked door at the top of the healing church
. can someone just confirm the following question with a yes or no?

if i go and talk to gerhman in the hunter's dream, will that trigger the end game? i'd rather go find and explore those areas and fight the optional bosses before goingt o NG+

EDIT: moved to another post because i edited late

leave that place, there's a lantern at the top of the stairs. On the second floor, it leads the the Darkbeast Paarl. Frankly I have no idea what the level recommendation should be for that area. You can return back anytime its the last tombstone btw. You can save the scared lady but I think you need the White Church Outfit (?) Do it before you fight Rom. And then continue on around the Cathedral area after leaving that place.
