So, that Makeshift Altar actually opened a dungeon I shouldn't have access to. It's actually the one I need to get the final trophy for. It also doesn't use materials as far as I can see.

So I suck!!!!!!

I can't beat cleric beast. I have beat every thing in the level, even the armored dude at the gate near the beginning, but not cleric beast. I use the cane, and just farm the level to raise my level. My question is (I am level 18), do you increase the difficulty of the monsters or does the game level as I level? Also.... Do you only improve stats? Can you unlock abilities as you level?
You can overleveln this game, though certain enemies can be ruthless.. For Cleric Beast, stay close to him and keep your back away from corners. Take a couple of shots at his legs, but make sure you're not stamina depleted if you need to dash away. He has a parry-able move, but I never pulled it off. Somebody else here may know. If you can, try to get some Molotovs in your inventory since they do pretty good damage to CB. Summoning could also help you.

- Enemies don't level with you. They will stay the same.
- You don't unlock new abilities, but you need stats above certain levels to use certain weapons.

You should be high enough level to beat Cleric Beast now. I wouldn't level up too much more or you'll break the game a bit by making it too easy in the early stages.

then she starts
healing
and some folks can't keep up with it. Still my most hated boss battle. I had to do it like 10 times if not more

That's what Numbing Mist is for. If you can't stop it it can make the fight far more frustrating I admit. At that point in the fight when
she's trying to heal she starts moaning over and over which gives you plenty of time to get in attacks
If you have the appropriate item the latter half of the fight should be shorter than the former.

Also .... Is there a level to beat cleric beast by?

Well, guess I'll try it then.

If it's too difficult, I'd do the Hemwick boss to get the ability to use runes. By then, you should have a more echoes rune and a more echoes from visceral attacks rune. Equipping those two and just farming any area with a ton of enemies should be fine.

He doesn't have a parryable move. He does stun if you shoot his face enough times though.

Level has no effect on monsters. That being said, the key to that fight(and many many others) is hugging his ass. And don't forget to lock on, it improves your dodge by quite a bit.

as my grandmother used to say "
if a visceral attack up the ass does not work nothing will"

Exactly.

Well, I'm ironically too impatient to not want to get LHB at the first possible opportunity, but not patient enough to beat yet another boss after it opens up. :P

I am learning very quickly that you can't kill a few dudes in the area, making it possible for you to go do a couple of shots. Come back, make sure theres still no enemies around, and then go smoke a cigarette and come to find I got killed.

I love this game though.

Seriously, fuck Rom. How is that good boss design? How was this considered good enough to make it out of testing? Who could possibly have fun facing off against this shit?

Nah it's all about patience and learning the enemy moves. That giant furry arm is a big target to go after and you can stun it by attacking that arm enough and tearing the flesh off. Then move to the head while stunned and you get a riposte attack on it for massive damage. You also do more damage to exposed bone.

You can also stun it if you shoot the face with the right timing. Similar to other enemies. Like in the middle of a big attack or something.

People say don't lock on but it's best to. Allows you to sidestep and backstep and such which is a must for parrying there attacks. Back away from big sweeping hits. Run up on it when it is going to slam the ground and either attack the rear or hit the hand while it is down. Molotovs do pretty decent damage. Just try not to get cause by any grab moves. It telegraphs those pretty well so just watch for what it does prior to a grab and just back away.

Stick and move man!

Wanted to post this earlier but just got around to doing it. It's an amazing feeling when you discover a series that you love for the first time. I'm hoping that Bloodborne is the first of many great experiences I have with the souls series. Here's hoping DS2 is great!

Just made it to
The One Reborn
in Unseen Village

Fuck me. I'm not even sure how you are supposed to hit the damn thing consistently. I got like a 5 or 6 hits on him, but used up almost all of my blood vials in the process.

If only I had a bow!

Sucks that i've got to go back to hunter's dream to refill my stock after a pvp match. Horrible design decision.

Is there really nothing to that lower gated area with the huge boulder swinger left of the chapel? I see one 'closed' door. Maybe DLC?

in the L
ecture
B
uilding
, is there anything I need to get other than the
Red Jelly
and
Augur of Ebrietas
? And what do those two things do?

kill the enemies around, use shock/lightning weapon, and do as many charged attacks as you can. The windows are decently open. You only ever really have to dodge like crazy when he starts spamming the
teleportation guts
move.

But see, I do litterally no damage, so ive been using my gun to stun then front stab. That does decent damage. But then, its like his moveset changes to do what ever he wants. That grab attack gets me every single time when he has maybe 1-2 front stabs left.

Im out of bullets, and I dont want to grind for more.

I wish there were weapons that actually did damage and that I could upgrade past 3.

If you wanna do good damage, find some fire paper. Anyway the fight is frustrating a bit, but I found my downfall was trying to parry and visceral attack. Just dodging, getting in one good hit, and backing off was much easier. Don't go for any hits you aren't sure about, and look out for the five swipe combo in the third phase. Don't bother running away at that point either (unless he's standing still and making the poison cloud), you won't outrun him. You dodge or you die.
