It truly is. It's a tiny bit better than Dark Soul's 1 fantastic OST. First time I started the game I sat listening to the main menu theme. Beautiful.

I think my favorite is THIS ONE

I can still hear
Vicar Amelia's
agony screams when listening to that lol

And the game got a 10 from Edge, awesome.

Are save files locked to a PS4?

My friend wants me to help him in the chalice dungeons and my SL is too high for me to join.

Without the glitch, I am not able to level up a new character fast enough. I was wondering if I could use another person's save file at SL80 to join his.

Any suggestions?

this thing killed me. then I ended up in a jail. hypogean gaol. what do I do with that girl? also that place seems too high level for me haha. it is on the 3rd tombstone whereas I'm only at church of the good chalice...

How does everyone feel about there being content that you can miss? Content where you only have a small window of opportunity to access it? I really don't like it. I honestly don't see how you could ever reach all the content in this game without a guide. Especially with the strange NPC interactions. I mean I backtracked through every area, and I carefully searched, knocked on every door, etc. And I still missed ten trophies. I'll play through the game again, but there's still no certainty I won't miss content again!

Dark Souls was the same way. I never found all of the covenants despite pouring 100+ hours into the game. I really don't want to use a guide, but it's almost as if you have to if you want to see the full game. I think that's lame. There should be a little more direction in that sense.

never liked it. missable content sucks in every game.

Soooo at the Cat
hedral Ward
I 'invited' some NPC's.
Turns out some of them were dying and I had a good idea who killed them. Attacked the guy and he turns into a giant werewolf. Now I have to fight him in the shittiest location.

About the girl,
you have to wear some Healing Church clothes or something, so that she can trust you, then you can tell her to go to Odeon Chapel.

Run up stairs to lamp. Send girl to church. Enemies not that bad just be careful. Outside is armor and goodies. I cleared it at level 31. Ludwig R2 is most helpful.

You should
talk to her while wearing at least a piece of the White Church set. She will then talk to you politely and ask where she can go.

Awesome! You're in for a good time :)

1 - Don't be afraid to run. If you think you can't handle the enemies, run past them. It's a great way to lear the enemies location and level design. Eventually you'll find short cuts that will make you go nuts, that's how good some of those are.

2 - If you want to battle, use the level in your favor. Having enemies lined up in a hall or stairway helps a lot. You can use molotovs to clean house.

3 - Always go for the long ranged enemies first.

4 - Look your stamina. Don't attack non-stop, make sure you have enough stamino to dodge at least twice after a combo.

5 - Try and dodge towards the back of your apponents. Most of them have slow recovery and don't have many opitions to attack you if you're not in front of them, including some bosses.

6 - Level up strength, skill, arcane and bloodtinge when you find a weapon you want to use/test. Since every weapon is viable, just stick to what you like and build your character around it.

7 - Pay attention to your timing, as a fully charged R2 can cause some serious damage to your oponents, but, if you screw the timing, your oponent will be able to make you regret it.

8 - Putting some levels into life until you hit, like, 30, is never a waste.

9 - Look around. There are many traps that can get you and many short cuts and areas you can miss.

10 - Take advantage of the regain system. If they hit you, wait until the oponent is vulnerable and hit him back. This will help you to conserve blood vials.

Thanks alot! :)

BTW: How important is the TV input lag? I've got a Samsung 65HU8590 and the input lag is 75ms (without gaming mode).

No idea, but you can try doing the skip to forbidden woods and doing the glitch with the dogs. that's how I got a new char up quick the other day.

Question for anyone who has explored
cainehurst castle

I noticed when fighting some of the ghostly maiden mobs that a red glowing mark will appear on the back of my character's neck. It lasts for maybe 20 seconds and a hit animation occurs sporadically but doesn't really do any damage. Anyone know what the deal is?

Yes,
it's damaging your stamina. It's caused by these little things.

Here's what I came up with:

Stay at medium distance, close enough to bait his short range attacks and far enough to dodge them. There are two phases in this battle. The first one is not that bad, as every single hit of yours will break Logarius attack animation, so just attack everytime he goes for an attack, specially spells, but dodge immediately after, as he, most of the time, will react to your slashes with close range "explosions", so don't be greedy.

After you take his health down to around 50%, Logarius will start concentrating energy, not only generating a HUGE AoE attack, but also powering up. Luckly, it takes a long time between the start of the attack to the actual explosion, so take that opportunity to go behing him and use your R2 charge move followed by a visceral attack. This way he won't be able to use his AoE move and, more importantly, he won't power up. Use this strategy everytime he goes for it.

On the second phase Logarius will go crazy with physical attacks, so dodge and attack at the end of his combos, specially when he misses the aerial attack.

He will also do a little AoE move where he leaves a sword on the ground. DESTROY THAT SWORD as it will keep spawning small knifes that will hit you. the problem is not the damage those make, but the fact it stagers you. One attack is enough to destroy it.

Just be patient and dodge a lot.

Also, remember to equip his crown once you have it and approach his throne.

What I think happens (not sure)
is that you're 'marked'. All enemies in the area aggro you more and the guys shooting darts start spamming you as well.

edit: nope so it just eats your stamina

I equipped Arcane resistant gear, though I'm not sure if those are really Arcane attacks? Maybe someone can clarify that, but can't hurt I guess.

Full rolls to avoid his spread "faces" attack, sidestep to avoid his single face blast up close. Get close. Slashed him down until the second phase.

Second phase, always break the sword he shoves into the ground. It's possible to counter him with the gun to drop him, but I stopped trying to do this and concentrated on getting in my hits on specific, predictable animations.

1) His triple attack with his weapon. Learn to avoid all three, and attack after the third.

2) When he has distance, he'll rise in the air and come flying forward. Learn to roll away from this and you'll have a window to attack.

Avoiding him and attacking him during these two animations got me the win. Good luck.

Summon someone. It's pretty cake when there's someone else to attract his ranged.

I had some awesome female hunter with the twin blades help me and she absolutely wrecked his butt.
I keep trying it and honestly nobody ever comes, one bad thing about this game. Tried summoning for over an hour kept coming back and forth and nobody.

Finally beat the
Defiled
Chalice today after a good 4 days on the
Watch Dog
and 2 more days on
Amygdala
!
Man it feels so good to be done with this, that was the most demanding part of the game so far to me. I'll start the Ihyll chalice now, hopefully it gets better.

For new page, if someone feels like clarifying

I started the Chalice dungeons yesterday and... I don't get the appeal (yet). I also don't understand how they work completely. The first one I entered was piss-easy and boring, and I only got material to make a slightly harder version of the one I just beat...

So basically I have to keep running through these easier ones to find materials for the more challenging ones? And the trophy is for beating the boss in the hardest dungeon there is? I don't like how the second one I just started is just a variation of the first.

Anybody know why I have zero gestures? I know how to equip them but I have none to equip. Did I miss something?

I'm in the forest right now and have taken down 5 bosses. I feel like I would have had at least one by now...

Was also having trouble with him yesterday, I heard gun parrying was the way to beat him easily, gonna try again tonight with this tactic.
I really need to think about parrying more often when fighting bosses -_-

You're looking in the wrong menu (Personal effects, which is kinda like another quick-item menu). Gestures are accessed by pressing the right of the touch pad, personal effects the left side.

I'm in the same boat. I believe the early ones are scaled to be completed as soon as you get your first chalice. I didn't start them until much later, so I'm seriously over-leveled. Seems like it's going to be a bit of a grind to catch up.

It all depends on what level you start doing them. I did them right away and it's pretty challenging. Coming after beating the game makes the dungeons trivial. Chalice dungeons difficulty range from depth 1 to depth 5 with depth 1 being very easy and depth 4 and 5 being more difficult than the rest of the game.

Until you get to depth 3 or 4 does the challenge pick up.

It will be many hours of doing similar dungeons to get to the end for the boss/trophy.

I have a very low input lag TV and I still occasionally hit dodge just a millisecond too late according to the game. I might be mistaken, but my perception has been that Dark Souls and Bloodborne both have just a bit of input lag, perhaps due to being 30fps. Just be mindful about trying to dodge at the last second. Otherwise, you can generally see attacks coming with sufficient time to react.

You start with a bunch, so if you aren't seeing them, you may be looking in the wrong place. But if you know how to equip them... I'm not sure what's wrong.

Wet Nurse
is down. The mandatory boss fights after
Rom
were all surprisingly easy.
Only
Ebrietas
and the final boss left. Backed up my save file so I can see all the different endings.

Will be the first Souls game I've beaten. And I did all the bosses without any coop help.

The last few bosses were very easy, but I can't say the same about the final boss. :)

You've got the gist of it. You're probably intended to start doing them as soon as you get the first Chalice, and probably not intended to finish doing the hardest ones (Cursed/Fetid/Rotting Pthumeria Ihyll) until NG+, considering they don't scale with NG+. As a result, the difficulty will really be all over the place if you're doing them straight through.

They never stop being extremely samey, but there are at least a few actual unique bosses toward the end. (None of them are especially good, in my opinions, but they're better than rehashes and normal enemies that have been "elevated" to bosses by getting a stat boost, at least.)

Can anyone help how do you activate the lift in the hollow wooden area (structure) in the middle of the forbiden forest. (not the one which brings you to the bond fire, but the other lift for which I only see a lever but I cann't activate it).
