Turns out some of them were dying and I had a good idea who killed them. Attacked the guy and he turns into a giant werewolf. Now I have to fight him in the shittiest location.

They are but their race is still considered as "Kin". Anything that is other worldly in appearance are Kin in this game.

Yeah, it is. I've listened to it a bunch outside of the game. Much more consistent than the Souls soundtracks, ironically (considering how many composers are involved.) The best tracks are mostly Tsukasa Saitoh's, though, imho.

Chalice dungeons are the worst thing in the game, it's super repetitive that it started giving me headaches because my mind was tired of seeing the same crap over and over just in different variations. I think the point of them really is to just do root chalices for rare loot. I can't stand chalices anymore, they feel like a super grind and f2pish. Felt relived after beating the final boss in depth 5.

I checked out the magic door to the left of the cathedral, it left me in a college. when I left there It left me in some nightmare place that looks like it may be way above my level (I just got the the forest after beating the witches/Amelia). Should I keep exploring this place?

I didn't check out the lecture theatre cos when I opened the door there were a loads of enemies, have I missed something? I assume I can get back to the college by the same magic door.

There are two down on layer 3 beyond the boulder hallway. Isz chalice overall seems pretty easy ( bosses included ), and gives you tons of blood echoes so it's where I've been farming for levels.

Also, I'm on Defiled now. Argh. Only this last trophy before Platinum.

Awesome, glad to have a break from the overly tough bosses in defiled before hitting up the Lyhl which I'm guessing isn't gonna be too easy either. Yeah the defiled is awful, but here's a few tips for if you get stuck.

First Boss - Can be partially cheesed by using the pillars and sending charged R2's through or around them

Watchdog - Can be cheesed by baiting and waiting for the lava vomit attack

Amygdala - Can be cheesed by staying behind her

It's not an efficient way to get them down but it does get the job done.

I suggest going back to Woods.
Nightmare Frontier/of Mensis are difficult locations.

For anyone who has done Lower Pthumeru Rom, did you hit&run or delicately kill each wave before whacking the cotton ball? I've been testing the merits of both and killing each wave seems to be the way to go, it's just such a setback when you do that for a while and then make a silly mistake (though Undead Giant 2.0 should have made me impervious to that kind of exhaustion).

is by beating the Blood-starved Beast. This opens the door in the Cathedral Ward to the workshop. Going down through the lower levels of the workshop will eventually land you on the other side of the gate.

There's another boss you can kill that will grant you access via a different route (speak to Gehrman after your next boss kill).

Killing each wave seemed pointless to me so I killed Rom very fast, hit&run.
Also, being passive got me killed by his ranged attacks.

Thanks everyone. I got a nice gem that gives me like +21.2% but -9.5% to kin, so trying to make sure I unequip it when against kin. My Ludwig's Holy Blade +9 does +400!

For ritual blood keep playing dungeons and you will earn enough eventually.

Bastard of Loran is in Ailing Loran Dungeon on the way to the third boss.

Arcane haze - You can get it at workshop table by using Arcane Haze Extractor. Basically, you extract haze from other chalice ingredients you don't need. Certain enemies can also drop haze.

Thanks for the info! Probably gonna take a break for a few days and play alot of DS2 Scholar (PS4 port runs amaaaazing) before I continue the quest for the platinum. Hopefully it doesn't take that long to farm the mats.

You're looking in the wrong menu (Personal effects, which is kinda like another quick-item menu). Gestures are accessed by pressing the right of the touch pad, personal effects the left side.

Byrgenwerth is the next story location but the boss there has a huge significance so be sure to talk to any NPCs you want because sfter that things change.

Cainhurst has the toughest boss (probably), and if by Library you mean Lecture Hall, you will get there after.

Cainhurst Castle is hard as nails but provides some very nice upgrade materials.

Byrgenworth and the Lecture Hall are the easier places and I'd recommend doing those two first.

Mensis' Nightmare. At some point there are little guys that look like buddha's, but then messed up. Anyway, I found out they don't attack me unless I do so and they are pretty weak. Skipped some to find a bigger version of them attacking me. I was having a fight with that guy and out of nowhere those little punks jump me, hahahha. I'm going to kill every single one of them now....
