My bone marrow ash won't replenish back to 10 upon dying or going to the hunters dream. It's stuck at 3 on the hud. I have 63 in my inventory anyone know what is up with this?

Only blood vials and bullets replenish from your stock. For everything else you have to go back and get some more.

Only blood vials and bullets get instantly replenished, everything else u gotta do manually.

From, I wanna love this game's PVP, but you gotta fix the matchmaking.

Its like a drug. Its sooo fast and visceral but connections take way too long to happen sometimes.

Ive found being lvl 70 to 90 works best for finding pvp in the Mensis Middle. Comes pretty consistent that way. The game needs more areas with Bell Maidens.

If youre over 100 finding connections seems much harder. Anecdotal evidence from my 110 build.

Then what's the point of having bone marrow ash in my stock if I can't transfer it to my hud quick select?

took me a good 20 hours of game to figure this part out. you have to go into the workshop and access the storage to transfer it. it's the storage container on the right as you walk in (if you walk in from the steps by the doll)

I just found that against Rom, the longer the battle the lesser the chances of winning.

It was super easy in the story because I just needed to approach him three times with bolt paper to end him. Now I'm in lower chalice and I can't use bolt paper... need four times to kill him but I barely get to the third part of the battle before he or his minions destroy me.

Yeah, I'm on 110 and it's awful D:

I give up, I'm just gonna start my STR PVE character.

A
bhorrent Beast
?

Probably my favorite boss in the game, I killed him 3 times yesterday for fun on my second character. What do you need to know specifically?
Always dodge towards him, you can even avoid some of his swipes without dodging after his first attack and get multiple hits in, and he usually does a counter swipe after a couple hits so just dodge towards him again and get some more hits in. You can see the counter attack coming a mile away so it's pretty easy to dodge. If you stay away from him he usually does that double fist wave thing which is super easy to dodge, you can bait this and the single fist attack pretty easily. Oh, and don't ever heal unless he's busy doing something because he can quickly catch up and pound you.

Everytime I try to summon it consumes one insight and then I get an error that the game has lost connection to the server and I'm sent back to the title screen

The person at From Software who decide that it was a good idea to make us farm for blood vials can go die in a fire.

I really hope you're not literally farming enemies for them. They're cheap as hell to buy. Also I hate to be that "git gud" guy...but you need to stop getting hit so much and take advantage of the regain system. It's there for a reason. Stop popping vials like candy (or Estus) and get in there and get your health back. The combat system is built around this. If you fight like this is dark souls you're going to keep being overly dependent on vials.

I'm about to give up. I just cant beat
Rom
. I wanted to try the fire sprayer trick but heard it was patched. This blows.

So in Unseen Village

There is the part where you can go up or down. Heading up (or left) takes you to the stairs leading down where the laser attacks and the second lamp is located. Heading down (or right) takes you to this room with a cage and a body on the inside. I beat the level, but never ended up getting into the cage. Did I miss something and should head back and look around again or will I come back to it?

also in Unseen Village

I beat the optional boss opening the way to Old Yarnham, but it seems a little useless. Did I miss something here too?

I just finished up this fight myself. The first 4 times he slaughtered me but the 5th time I wreaked havoc upon him. I found intelligently pacing my damage before his first disappearing act helped give me a great headstart. Here's my video if it helps you at all:

I can't dodge into his attacks well. What did you do to get the timing down? And I'll try these tips when I get back on.

Such a shame that the chikage switches completely to bloodtinge scaling in transformed mode. No point in going two-handed when I deal way less damage that way. I'll probably try a chikage + evelyn bloodtinge build at some point.

I think I'll try a no death run since I ran out of fun things to do. C:
This feels like a surprisingly doable thing. All the toughest bosses are optional and the mandatory portion of the game is quite short when you know what you're doing.

She didn't split in 2?

Nah. She takes like ten seconds to cast that and gets interrupted by a whopping two hit combo from saw spear. (Granted, the second hit was transform which seems to do a boatload of hitstun, but still.) I've only ever seen that phase of her watching someone else fight her.

To get into that cage you drop down around that random Cthulu guy that's firing lasers. I think it's the right side?

Wait a minute!!! how did you use bolt paper?? I can't use it!! that could change the tide in my favour.
I didn't kill the spider though, that helped me in the story but maybe here could be a good idea.

This is super weird because I totally tried tossing a molotov at some dudes in the river in forbidden woods multiple times thinking it was oil, and nothing happened. Huh.

It's not Dark Souls style in terms of igniting the whole pit, standing in it whether it's you or any npc, gives the same status effect as being hit with the oil urn, which multiplies the damage fire does to the target.

You can see it happening at the start of this clip, the moltov does more damage because the enemy is walking through an oil slick.

First one:
You missed it. You can get into the cage going left where the second bonfire is, before the bonfire.
If you want specifics:
There's a gap in the railing on the right side before the amygdala shooting laser at you.

Second one:
I think the gatling gun hunter is friendly if you go that way, under certain conditions at least.

Not sure on the first part, but for this.
If you haven't killed the Gatlin Gun npc, you can now approach him through the level unseen from behind. Make it up his tower and he is "friendly" and gives some stuff.

I'm not sure to be honest. I tried applying bolt paper to my burial blade but it was grayed out, so I tried on my twin blades (forget what they're called) but it was grayed out so I just went in with trusty old Ludwig's Blade and it suddenly let me use it.

First of many. There are some brilliant ones ahead.
love that feeling so much.

I must agree. I'm not that far but so far I have no problems with the blood vial/healing economy. Just spend a batch of souls on them every so often so you have a nice pile in storage. focus primarily on improving your game and not relying on them in the first place. Backstep + R1s are proving amazing at reclaiming a bit of health

Can gems ever be combined or are old ones garbage.?

Also in chalice dungeon
that fire werewolf that spews fire I'm using Ludwigs but with fire maybe that's why not doing much damage?? Or is he just one tough sob?

Wow wtf. The portal for h
ypogean
is broken. It says function unavailable when I try to use it. ???

There's a reason for it, you have to go there manually. You ran the wrong way after Rom, you're supposed to go past that big guy. To get back there, go to the right, right before the Amelia door.

Over in the area where the laser attack is (left way), there is a broken ledge railing on the right side that you can drop down from and get to the area on top of that cage. You'll want that item if you want to access
Upper Cathedral Ward
.
