So I never saw Eileen again after meeting her above the sewers. Then
I fight her in the Grand Cathedral - which I'd heard about happening before.

What did I miss, GAF?
I think that if you kill Rom and you didn't see her again before that she automatically becomes hostile.

So whats the secret to father g... Once he transforms.. How should i handle that?

You can parry him for a quick dispatch, but if you are having trouble, there is a Music Box you can acquire which will stagger him for about 5 seconds. Enough time to land a charged R2 + Visceral. Molotovs are also very effective.

I see why Unseen Village gets a lot of grief around here, that place is nuts. I wanted to explore a bit more, but with enemies
resurrecting
so frequently, you could never really settle in. I don't know how I made it to the
Chapel Lantern
without dying, bit there were a lot of close calls, and holy shit, they are shooting fucking
Lasers
.

It was a pretty tough area for me as well, I've lost a ton of echoes and have had the most deaths in The Unseen Village.

I'm about to face the final boss BUT

Is there any way to get two more umbilical chords this late in the game?

There are 4 in the game and only one is missible.
Find the hidden enterance to Iosefka's clinic and the last one should be there assuming the moon is red.
Cannot be missed?
the abandoned workshop is optional, no?

It is
unless you want the 'True Ending'

You only really get one via the story.

I have used Stake Driver and Reiterpallasch and they are both awesome weapons. Every single weapon in BB is good and at worst is strong in certain situations (which makes it nice you can carry 2!

I'm runing around with Cane+tonitrus, I like both, but the cane isnt doing much for me atm, I dont know why but the dmg is low where I am atm (Nightmare of mensis).

Got any tips for Reiterpallasch? The first form seems great but I'm not sure why I'd ever need to turn it into a gun when I have one in my left hand.

I carried a Rosmarinus (sp?) in my left hand on that build, so I can't be of much help. The Reiter shot is single shot though. Maybe a shotgun blast to AE stun enemies?

So... Cannon users.

How the hell are you two shotting bosses with this thing? I have my strength @ 30, and have upgraded the cannon to +6 and it does.... just ok

Ya, you gotta kill those chicks with the bells. I usually just run straight to her first.

Did pretty great last night before hitting a wall in Mensis, nothing I can't get past but that was a good stopping point for the night.

Downed three bosses last night,
The One Reborn, Paarl, and Amygdala
the last two were downed in the first attempt. I think I might be over leveled....Also took out some Chalice dungeon bosses including a revisit from
BSB, I was scared to see him at first but got him on my second try
.

Man I love this game....anyone know if I am close to the end? I got to the big
Room full of nasty looking spiders hanging off the ceiling
. Before being wiped out and called it quits lol.

Tonitrus does monster dmg on individual hits. The cane uses less stamina, has a more versatile moveset, and isn't useless against mobs with bolt resist. So they're both good but Toni does better straight dmg. Also maybe your Dex is low? And are they upgraded to the same level?

Eh, I dunno. Healing sucks because it's so hard to punish, especially if your using a 2 handed weapon. And if both of you are committed to using healing it can lead to extremely long matches.

Also I don't think it's that different from in dark souls
Agreed, I don't like healing because if I lose a fight is because my opponent bested me. If I run and heal it won't matter, I still lost. In my opinion this attitude of run-to-heal wouldn't help if I got invaded again. I'd rather count on my skill than on my vials.

But some ppl just like to "win" no matter what, that's why I bring Numbing Mist.

Yeah, I sort of knew that Rom was the cut-off point.

I'm more asking about what I missed if I found her sooner, in combat with that hunter or w/e? Is there resolution to her arc or anything?

The magical word here is Bone Marrow Ash. You won't two shot any bosses with a +6 cannon though. More like you can 3 shot I think CB with a +9 Cannon + Bone Marrow Ash.

This is where I'm also, doing shitty dmg atm cane+tonitrus.

It scales with Bloodtinge. 30 STR is just the requirement to use it. And people are buffing it with Bone Marrow Ash, and probably putting +% blood dmg gems in it.

Also if you parry and then switch to Cannon it does insane dmg because stunned enemies take double dmg.

Yes both at +7, but cane is missing a third rune cant find those:

Stats

vit 25
end 20
str 13
skill 35
bloodtinge 15

You know if you shoot someone who is healing with a vial they get stunned? It's pretty easy to predict when someone is going to heal (they back-dash a few times), just spam your gun when you feel a heal coming on. And then punish

You should be doing great damage with the cane with those stats. Toni will do more raw dmg to make up for its small range and limited move-set. Also, kin mobs take extra dmg from bolt.

But the cane should be fine. Cane is a good weapon from start to finish.

Bone Marrow Ash. Also instead of the visceral attack, shoot the boss in the head.

Aha! Thanks for the replies guys, I'll play around with it some more tonight :)

I've been using the repeating pistol for the majority of the game.

Yeah I really need help here as frustration is building up. I'm lost, I already asked yesterday and I still didnt find where zi'm supposed to go lol.

I just beated Amygdala and everyone told me it's optional. Ok nut then what? I go to Lecture's building and nothing happens, I'm lost in there fighting all konsters easily in the theatre, if I open that door in the middle of the hallway it brings me to Nightmare's frontier in wich I beated Amygdala... Is there another boss I missed in Nightmare frontier or something? After Amygdala all i find is a portal. I even checked the whole swamp. No idea where to look In Lecture Building and/or Nightmare Frontier...

Doing like 70-80 dmg each R2 Swing, its bad!

There is
another door on the second floor of the Lecture Hall, on the side where the big reaper is hanging out, go in there to another part of the Nightmare Frontier

Well, your route forward is in neither of those
(assuming you only have access to the 1st floor of the Lecture Building)
What else have you been doing, and where?

There's nothing left in there I think. Have you been to U
nseen Village
yet?
The One Reborn
and
Darkbeast Paarl
are in there, and I heard you can get to the 2nd floor of the L
ecture Building
from there. That offers access to the N
ightmare of Mensis
.

This. Punishing heals in this game is extremely easy once you understand the timing and can predict when your opponent will do it. The timing for parries and heal parries is basically the same as getting a Ds1 parry(just a half second before the animation). Ive got quite a few wins doing this.

Also people saying half the weapons are useless havent tried them enough to understand how they can be effective. I absolutely love the Stake driver for its transformed 1 hand thrusting attack. It comes out very quick so if you manage to get in close against a spammer using a slower weapon you can just spam thrust in their face til their dead.

PVP in this game is probably my favorite out of all the games simply for the speed. I do wish there were more weapons(no doubt will come through DLC) but what is there now is great already.

Killed
The one reborn
yesterday, I'm now going to explore
Upper Cathedral
tonight.

On another note, I wish the multiplayer would not be broken , tried to summon help yesterday for
Martyr Logarius
I got disconnected twice and got kicked out of the game -_-
Can't believe they have not fixed this yet, I never managed to do a proper multiplayer session once in this game .

This and the loading time are really the only complain I have about this game .

I was stuck at this part,
made another char ( thought the first one was bugged) but I find out that if you let that spider thing grab you at grand cathedral it will spawn you at the first lecture floor.

To go to the secound floor you need to go to yahar'gul unseen village, you can rush the whole thing, in the end of it you'll be spawned at the secound floor of the lecture building, from there find the giant bell monster, right behind him theres a ladder that leads to the first floor of lecture building.

ps: sorry for my english but I hope I could help you, I was frustrated also about that.

Thank you all, will check it all out, must have missed something. Thanks

Ok, need some GAF guidance. I have a few potential options as to what to do and where to go, what should I attempt next?

I'm level 33, with +4 axe and +4 Ludwigs as my main weapons, wearing a mixture of Gasgoine's Garb and charred hunter stuff.

Option 1
Try and kill Vicar Amelia

Option 2
Try and kill Dark Beast Paarl

Option 3
Head off on the path to the left of Vicar Amelia entrance, through all that grass and cave which leads to a woodland full of gun guys and see what occurs. Although large parts of me don't want to do that until I've done Vicar.

Option 4
Persevere with the Undead Giant boss in Level 1 of the first chalice dungeon. He should be easy I know, but for some reason he keeps killing me. Will there be anything worth having in there to assist with my story quest?

Option 5
None of the above, you're too low level to achieve anything, wander around and kill some dudes and buff up a bit.

Thanks

Thanks to all who replied, Option 3 appears to be the general consensus. I'll come back to the bosses a bit later on then.

Cheers GAF.

Have you
unlucked the 2nd floor of lecture hall? There is a door out to a different zone from there.
If not I'd need to know what else you've done.

Are you sure it's been repaired? That dmg amount is like what a fresh character with 10 SKL and a +2 whip should be doing.

I guess that's the problem, yesterday right I after I gave up, the game warned me that the cane was almost broked.

I'm going to repair it and try again when I get home, thanks!

Euh yeah so I've never been to
Unseen village, After defeating the 1st spider, the 2nd one grabbed me and brought me to nightmare frontier... Also, and that's where I'm frustrated: the only zone i didnt finish and is now unavailable is Hypogean Gaol.

thank you all for the help...

Anyone wanna help me with L
ogarius
in cainhurst? If you need help with him we can help eachother

Im lvl 58 btw

Yea,you need to go to yahar'gul unseen village.

So happy. Managed to beat
Martyr Logarius
first time last night after struggling with him on Tuesday (10 failed attempts).

After running
Cainhurst
15 times or so for chunks I got my Ludwig up to +8 (
cainhurst
is really great IMO for farming them as you also get 20,000 echos each run which only takes around 8 minutes). I then proceed to wreck his ass with viceral attack after viceral attack. Guy didn't stand a chance.

I scared my dog half to death celebrating after I beat him. Poor thing was hiding under the table for 20 minutes after.

Now onto the
Unseen Village
. I'm sure that'll be easy enough.

Finally beat the game last night at Lvl. 100. With around 45hrs clocked up. Completed without summoning for help or using a guide and this was my first souls experience. Although thanks Gaf for the help with Rom, took me many, many attempts.

Did the final boss in one too!
I actually ended up backing up my save so I could see all three endings and save a NG+ run. Think my fave ending was
Not consuming the cords and not submitting my life
.

Now I just need to unlock the final chalice dungeon and gain the final secret weapon and I will have the Platinum. Feels good.

Yep, I do that all the time. Blade of Mercy is perfect for that. I just switch back to my Evelyn mid combo, let my opponent alone for a second and they always heal, then they die. :>

I know but I have no idea how... i've read it unlocks after beating the first spider? not for me lol

you know that
big spider that grabbed you at grand cathedral and spawned you at Nightmare frontier? You need to go again there and rush it,after that hall a bit further you'll find the yahar'gul unseen village and the lamp.
