So...
the part with the usually invisible Amyg grabs you and kills you... you CAN survive it. I was on NG+ with high frenzy resist on and high HP runes equipped. I had around 80 insight as well, so I could already SEE it, even though ROM was still alive. It grabbed me, took off about 80% of my health and started to frenzy me. Then Mensis?(sounded like antenna head dude) said some stuff to Amyg about letting me go. Then I appeared on the bottom floor of the lecture hall... I haven't progressed far enough to visit the 2nd floor of the hall yet and the spiderdude blocks the only entrance to the 2nd floor.
Hardly super game breaking or whatever, but I love how non-linear a lot of the game is.

Now a member of the
Vilebloods
but I was only in it for the sweet fashion hookup. Not sure what to do about Alfred now, but onto the
Choir

Hit a complete roadblock now with the Watchdog in the Defiled Chalice Dungeon. Can barely get through the first phase without stumbling on one of his jumping attacks or surprising stomp attacks, and let's not talk about the aggressive second phase... :(

You're just projecting your experience on the entire game, my rapid poison BoM has had people running away in PvP because they came unprepared (I got this idea from Peeve so I can't take credit for that). & yes it sometimes outperforms physical gems in the right circumstances if you're using higher level poison gems, the elemental gems also do great damage against enemies with a weakness to fire or bolt.

Funny, ENB is doing a playthrough right now & the rifle spear & Saw Spear are two of his favorite weapons, plenty of people have used the Stake driver in this very thread although I haven't used it personally, the Reiterpallasch is a great weapon (have you even used it?), & I can't believe someone said the Tonirus is a bad weapon? Are you serious?

I'm sorry, but it looks like you haven't played much of the game at all, you just played a skill cane build & called it a day.

I've done everything in this game and used every weapon with multiple characters, so yes I have played much. I didn't even say the Tonitrus is bad, I said the opposite.

Anyways, you proved my point. People will play with bad weapons for fun because they like them, just like in Dark Souls 2, where there is about 80 more to choose from with more freedom on how to use them, with greater build variety and functional online play.

That's because you
have the Tonsil Stone. You don't have to survive Amygdala's attack for the cutscene to happen as long as you're carrying that item.

In NG+ I'm guessing no new items...finally pulled myself away from chalices to try some invasions, ended up fight
cleric beast
and cleared a bit of the levels, but the items weren't upgraded and the boss just had a lot of health, but was pretty easy, I don't think I'm that over leveled (early 90s).

I gave it a shot before I turned off my PS4. Had him down to 20% or so then I couldn't parry him anymore. Need to get that timing. It was parry city before that.

I got sick of him and R2'd him to death through a pillar in the end. About to see what lies in wait. I know the layer 4 boss is going to be hell.

Edit: Well.....that was something else.

It was fun being in a DGAF party chat playing BB! I missed y'all. It was really funny listening to everyone's reactions during all of our different parts of the game. I didn't want it to end haha. Good luck with
Father G, you'll get him on one of the next couple of attempts!
The real question is, will I get him down before tonight's newbie raid!

Yeah, it can be tough, unfortunately the boss after is worse. Key is to be very patient, you won't get more than 1 hit in at a time, you go for anymore and you're likely to get punished for it.

And the charge is the other pain as it is a OHKO, just have to fight him and learn the "wind-up" is for his attacks and know when you attack and when to play it safe, takes time but it can be done. A lot of side strafing helps with the charge attack since even though you might not time your dodge, if you are sufficient distance and are side strafing he will just charge past you and miss.

Starting another playthrough where I'm actually going to try and complete the quests. Also going to try a beast build using
Beast Roar
and the
Beast Claw
, so I'm starting with Cruel Fate (least bloodtinge of starting classes).

So to complete Eileens quest,
I just go to the grand cathedral and kill the NPC there ? Is the cheese still working ? And how do I cheese this guy ?

Any tips for Blood Soaked Beast in main game? He is kicking my butt.
Some tips

Circle strafe/dodge to the left (his right) and most of his attacks won't be able to touch you. Try to stay behind him. When he freezes facing towards you, he's going to pounce and grab, so be ready to dodge that. Flame paper and Molotovs do extremely high damage, but be careful throwing Molotovs. Pungent Blood Cocktails will distract him if you want to relieve some pressure and apply an Antidote. If you're feeling ballsy, parry him with the gun, he's the second easiest boss to parry after Father G.

So, have pissed aound for an age, opening all manor of short cuts, picking up items, improving weapons, leveling up, i beleive my next challenge is VA, the last boss i killed was BSB, is this correct?

I just beat Amelia, off to forbidden woods or kill Pearl first?
I'd recommend killing Paarl first if you want more of a challenge, but you can save him till after the Forbidden Woods no problem. I would definitely beat him before clearing the area after the woods though.

Here's a video of me beating her:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSJ8ssMcnAY

I felt it better to fight from a distance early on until she phase changes then get close to her to limit her moves.

Stay in front of it and wait for the double hand slam attack. Hit the head after. Once into 3rd stage just get behind it and keep hitting tail/legs till it dies.

Yeah I got there too. The fight feels both easy and difficult at the same time. Every attempt I've gotten it under 30% then I can't figure out a way to get in anymore.

This fight was my worst nightmare. Fuck this boss sooooo much. I made it through watchdog with no issues, but his boss....that fucking jump attack. Do this and you will live

get through phase 1 and stay outside during phase 2. Take your time and you will be ok until phase 3. This is where i always died to that one shot jump. Then i went close to his legs and he jumped away from me, not at me. I kept running towards him slashing the legs and it didnt attack me ONCE. Just kept jumping away from me. Lucky? Maybe, but i will never fight this boss again and that makes me happy.

Thanks GAF! As always

I'm going to give it another go in a few hours.

Decided to go back to The Unseen Village and loot hunt.
Got backed-up by an enemy and literally stumbled into a hidden area to find some kind of
Cathedral Key
.

Does this unlock what I think it does? :D
The door at the top of that tower with all of those wheelchair fuckers?

How in the world would someone find this on their own? I salute any/all of you and your observation skills. I probably ran through that section a dozen times and never even noticed the break in the fence.
I blame the regenerating crazy women and Scott Summers Cthulu monster shooting goddamn laser beams at me!

Oh! Finally manadged to summon someone. But...

What do I have to do to summon 2 guests? I can't use the bell after my fist summon... Help!

Just started the game yesterday only played 10 minutes.
Jesus how i miss my shield! Gun is a great addition btw to pull and counter mobs.

Quick question: The exploration system is more like Dark Souls ("open world") or Demon's Souls (A Nexus and you choose what stage to go)?

Anyone?
