Farewell for now, hunters. I'll be back again one day... probably in like a week or two.

I just beat rom and martyr. Is the next step the nightmare Frontier area or the unseen village?

I ended up in an area with a massive enemy hanging from the ceiling and I wasn't sure what to do next..

unseen village, nightmare frontier is a little higher and when i go make sure to take sedatives.

Nightmare Frontier is optional, I recommend to do that. There's also a key in the unseen village which leads to another optional area:
Upper Cathedral, which also has
two
bosses
.

man, fuck this, I'm fighting
paarl
in a chalice dungeon and the frame rate is almost constantly below 15 making it ridiculous to try and dodge the lighting explosions.

I just got there too. You weren't kidding, this shit is ridiculous. It borders on being unplayable.

I feel like Chalice dungeons are totally passing me by, I did one and it was totally easy at level 88 and then I tried to do another one but it seemed like it had the same bosses and was still easy..

The first ones are easy. The later ones are the most challenging things in the game.

It's because you are way to overleved at 88. Depth 1-3 will be easy, 4 and 5 will fuck you up, trust me.

So I'm gonna start
unseen village
tonight. I've already killed
paarl
on my first visit to
Yahar'gul prison after I was kidnapped by the psycho santa dudes.

I've read the
unseen village (and hunters therin)
is very frustrating/difficult. I'm just wondering if it's worth me just
sprinting for the upper cathedral key here and doing that optional area first before I tackle the village proper?

Since I arrived in Forbidden woods I just lost all motivation to play :(

It's just a confusing and bad looking area. Think I've done every optional area available so far as well (
Hemwick, Hunter's Dream looking place (Old Workshop?), Unseen Village after I got kidnapped and killed Paarl
). Does the game get interesting again after this? Will I find chunks soon so I can upgrade my weapons further? Is this area as huge as it seems? Still far to go? I just opened an elevator shortcut from the starting lamp.

It's not that I'm stuck either, I just don't like the area so and get lost (and everywhere I go there are snakes!) I haven't played in a few days...

Edit:
psycho santa dudes.
Best name for those enemies!

well done sir!

Yeah, to be honest the later dungeons are really scratching on my sanity. I finally managed to beat the ab
horent beast
in the
ailing loren
dungeon only to find an even stronger version in the
lower ailing loren
dungeon.
Now I am even afraid to go into the
defiled dungeon
as people claim to had/have the most problems in there. *sigh*

This is the lamest area dont worry, most seem to hate it. Getting to the boss is actually easy once you have the short cut so just focus on that!

Compared to other titles how hard is this game to platinum?

You'll do most of it just by playing the game casually. I'm at 57% and haven't gone out of my way to do anything yet. The only one you'll need to go out of your way to do are maybe the Hunter's Essence Trophy and
3 endings
trophies.

I found it harder but also quicker. The bosses in the defiled dungeons are the really hard part.

Yep that's how I felt as well. You don't need to do some mindless farming for the platinum, you just need to kill some pretty hard bosses and find all the weapons and most of the secrets in the game.

Martyr Logarius is an arsehole, all he does is retreat to the corner and spam the massive death balls constantly. Couldn't get in on him at all. I'm gonna get that fucker tonight I swear.

Thanks, guess I just have to painfully search everywhere once and then never again. There's so much loot on all the side paths as well and I hate missing stuff. And every path seems to loop back but I can't really "map out" the place in my head like I've done in every souls game.

His first phase is the easy one.
The big energy ball is easy to avoid (he draws a big circle) because it's very slow. The line of skulls comes faster but is also easy to avoid with strafing/dodging or hiding behind a roof obstacle. Just go close to him hit him 1-2 times and go back because he releases one bigger skull attack to get you off. After 50 % comes the fun. If you are good with parry, it's easier. If not, be prepared because he coming at you for close quarter combat. Has 3 hit combos and other stuff. Always destroy the sword he places because it spams arcance attacks.

Don't get the forbidden woods hate.

Does anyone think Bloodborne is on par with Resi4 Or last of us In terms of quality And single player experience?

Its funny because the game reminds me way more of a hyper melee Resi4. Especially the atmosphere

These Defiled Chalice bosses are soul crushing. Almost killed
Amygdala
but I got way too nervous when it was matter of two hits.

How hard is the last Pthumerian Chalice compared to this?

Parry all day, it's an easy boss fight, just try to stay within close range so he'd try to attack with his sword. When he does the move where he stick his sword in the ground, get behind him and do a charge attack.

I finished the defiled dungeon before the Lower Ailing Loran dungeon (which I finished 10 minutes ago) and I reckon the latter is the hardest one. You might have half of your life in the defiled dungeon but it feels fairer than the lower ailing loran dungeon where two out of three bosses have severe framerate issues.

I'm about to start the Great Isz dungeon, wish me luck :@

H
emwick charnel
was like resi 4 village. My fave area so far.

I fell down in Forbidden woods.. can't seem to get back up. Met some kids with Alien heads that were easy, but I there were items I left behind before I fell down. Can I get back up, ot do I have to scout this place from the beginning again? :(

Edit: I got back up. And then I died. Time to try again.

Well, it's easier and has only three layers, but you have to face a stronger version of
Bloodletting Beast
in layer 2.

Ok guys thanks.

How come
bullets sometimes curve around him like Fortune in MGS2
... what triggers that and how can I stop it?

As much as i love Bloodborne, honestly RE4 and the last of us are the better games. But BB reminds me alot of RE4 especially the sound design. Any RE 4 developers on BB?

Just beat Henwick Charmel Lane and used all the twin shards to get my Ludwig up to +6. Loving that weapon! The stunlock makes it much easier taking on human enemies

Any recommendations on a sidearm to start dropping my remaining twin shards into? Still using the regular starting pistol at the moment. Is that good enough for the whole game? Anything else stand out for a build with low bloodtinge?

get the cannon if you have high strength.

Good luck. I just beat the second ab
horrent beast
. Now I am on my way to the last boss there and after that I'll start with the
defiled
dungeon.

Beat the game last night - save scummed to get all the endings lol.

God damn,
Gehrman
is no fucking joke. I found him to be a lot harder than
Moon Presence
and easily the hardest fight in the game. Amazing boss.

I'm playing NG+ now and two times I've received blood echos for doing nothing. I don't remember how much exactly, but it was at least 20k+. I'm online, but I didn't have a co-op sesssion at the time. Why did I receive blood echos? I'm not complaining, but I find it odd.

I got the game yesterday. Used my GameStop points to get a coupon for $25 off. Like the Souls games, I suck. I love the faster gameplay, though.

So where should I go next?

So far I've beaten:

Cleric Beast
Father G
Blood Starved Beast
Vicar Amelia
Hemwick Witches

I haven't done any NPC storyline things, so maybe someone can point me in the direction of one if that seems like a logical next step. The only thing I've done so far is
return to the little girl who gave me the music box and send her to the chapel.
