Wow! That's fantastic. Going for that last boss now then!Nope.
Edit: oh, so I would have to start all over with the chalice dungeons? I should probably go for that trophy before killing the last boss in the main game.

This game WILL run you out of vials if you have trouble beating a boss.
I really miss Dark souls. I didnt have to grind my ass off to restore estus flasks (for those that didnt play, they were auto refilled). But in this game keep needing vials. Most of the time I really hate this game I cant lie. I just hate the blood vial grind
It does eventually get easier to acquire them as they become cheaper relative to how much you get from enemies but that doesn't diminish that it is a fairly unnecessary mechanic and hard to argue it as a step any way but backwards from the estus flask system. They're so cheap...I've played grindy games and vial runs just don't compare IMO.
Got dang. No mercy. How you liking the burial blade? Very eager to use it one i hit NG+
Is it worth it to put a fire gem in the scythe? What is the damage difference? Do you use just one?
Also curious to know the kind of use you have for the Augur, I only really use Tiny Tonitrus and Beast Roar.
Depends on what he means by progress, right? The dungeons themselves get removed, he just keeps the actual chalices and ritual items.
Okay so after I use the normal Pthumeru Chalice on a dungeon and I get the Root Chalice from it does that mean I remove the Pthumeru from the orginal altar and put the Root Chalice in next?
They're so cheap...I've played grindy games and vial runs just don't compare IMO.
Also, as it's been said - stop popping vials when you're studying a boss. Wait until you're confident with strategy after dying a few times.
I should amend my original comment about the transformed state too...the charged up transformed attack is nice if you can time it as it is a huge knockback on almost all enemies (seriously knocks them across a room), even the hunchback giants guys.
I put the fire gem as it gave me the most damage, it was a tampering gem (sickle shaped bloodgem )that raises physical attack by like %17 and just gave a flat 15 fire damage I think, it just happened to be the one that increases my sheet damage the most of all my appropriate gems.
I sometimes use the augur, mostly in chalices, when enemies are on perches am I'm trying to lessen the numbers, I've knocked them to lower floors. I also like to use it as a short of crowd control for groups of enemies, since it knocks them down, if I time it right, knock down one or two, and combo the other one to death while the enemies that were knocked down recover.
Sometimes when fighting near bottomless pits it is nice too as you can just use that to knock them down and not just fall off as you go on a combo string. Uses only 1 bullet, which is nice. Beast roar is pretty handy too though, like that one as well.
No, the chalice dungeons stay open. The main game has nothing to do with the chalice dungeons, they aren't effected by NG+ levels and they don't leave the ritual stones when you beat the game.
It does eventually get easier to acquire them as they become cheaper relative to how much you get from enemies but that doesn't diminish that it is a fairly unnecessary mechanic and hard to argue it as a step any way but backwards from the estus flask system.
And for me as the game went on the tediousness of having to make an echo run or a vial run to replinish began to grow. After doing it the 30th time or so it just clicked and I realized how unnecessary and pointless the system is.
They're so cheap...I've played grindy games and vial runs just don't even begin to compare IMO.
Also, as it's been said - stop popping vials when you're studying a boss. Wait until you're confident with a strategy after dying a few times.
I agree, they're not an issue to me at all, but, that said, I see no reason to go back to this. The Estus system is far more balanced.
When you have consumables, players who are doing better at the game will always have max items (in Demon's and Dark II you could even carry max items around, they didn't even have Bloodborne's limitation, so it was even easier in that aspect, you didn't need to think about using or saving them, fuck it, just use them all the time), but players who are doing poorly will need to grind for vials, they'll run off of grass/lifegems/vials and need more to keep playing.
Estus, being a limited but guaranteed healing system, will offer more challenge to players doing good (at least compared to Demon's and Dark II, of course, Bloodborne has the 20 vials limitation), since they can't just stock 99 Estus just because they're not taking too much damage, while also offering help to people struggling with the game. They don't need to farm Estus, they'll always have 5~20 whenever they die.
Thankfully I'm not having any issues with vials at all, and have absolutely no need to farm then, on the contrary, I often have to create blood bullets just so I can heal and collect the dropped vial, but it's not better to me because of that, it's just irrelevant. So if it doesn't make a difference for me but can help other people, why not have an Estus-like system?
I scratch my head at some Demon's throwback changes that make no sense to me. I actually like the Hunter's Dream a lot (to my surprise, really, I expected to hate it because of loading screens and I generally dislike having a separate hub), but I still don't get why go back to it when the Dark Souls scheme is so much better. Having to warp back to the hub before warping somewhere else is just ridiculous. People argued with me on this prior to the game release, saying it's not the same as bonfire warping, but guess what, it's exactly the same, just one more unnecessary step with big ass loading times.
Still love this game and can't decide if I prefer Bloodborne or Dark Souls, I need to play a lot more of both before I can make that decision, but some changes are nonsense.
Jeez. I feel like the only reasonis hard is because the camera is so bad regardless of whether you lock on or not. I got him really low first try, but I ran out of vials because I was getting hit by things I couldn't see the telegraph for.Blood-Letting beast Ihyll

Jesus. The hunter inis whipping me.Nightmare Menis
Going to the hub is a bit redundant. It's something that doesn't bother me too much because I just got used to the loading times after a while but when I step back and think about it I agree.
Frankly if the loading times were a lot more manageable and short I don't think it would bother me at all.
Trying get a gem that deals more blunt damage. I think the r2 attack is blunt.Coming back to BSB with a big-ass strength weapon +4 and tons of antidotes. He's not going to give me as much trouble as he did on my first playthrough, I swear to god.
Really loving the Kirkhammer so far, but it has some quirks. For the life of me I still can't figure out why the R2 is so consistently weaker than the R1. I understand the weapon deals reduced damage with its AoE but the R2 seems pretty lackluster even in closest range.
Do you have a fast weapon like the Blade of Mercy? Hunters are FREE to that shit, just spam R1 and you'll win.
YesCan you summon for fighting (later game boss spoiler) G? I just keep getting fucked up, not even got close to killing him and I just want it over with now!ehrman![]()
It's kinda intense on NG+,spirit bomb will one shot you. NG+ Nicolas Cage was the only PVE fight in the game where Beast Roar was actually very useful.
I'm not approaching the game like dark souls. I'm saying it is an unnecessary mechanic. For some it doesn't require much grinding, for others it will. Especially early on. The fact is there really isn't any good argument I have heard that makes the case this is a superior system or even on the same footing as estus flasks. It's simply going back to the Demon's grass system (which I rather enjoyed) and it encourages using the regain system to keep combat flowing. You really can't approach this game like DS. In the same way turtling will get you killed, popping vials like Estus will lead to excessive grinding.
i think it was a glitch but on my game all he did was trying to punch me. Haven't seen any spirit bomb etc..

Holy hell, that poor girl! Merciless slaughter on your part!
Are you looking in the right place?Go down the ladder
Yes I am, its not there...It isnt showing. The girl ask me if I found her ...... but she is not there.
-Lock on
-Stand far away so he doesn't "hear" you
-Start running toward him, he'll attack, just quick dash 1-2 times through his legs while sprinting so you're behind him
-Attack 2-3 times (1hand)
-Run away
-Rinse repeat
No, I am using the Ludwig.
Did you warp back to HD and go back? Or quit to title and reload? I did the latter and it showed up for me.
I did warp back to HD...but no lock.
Do I need to quit at the place where the thing is supposed to be? Or in HD?

For good players the vial system makes the game even easier. For people that hit hiccups or are struggling, especielly early on, it adds a level of tediousness that can compound that frustration. As evidenced by multiple posters in this thread.
You may personally like it. And frankly I don't outright hate it. I am just recognizing that at the end of the day it is an inferior system to what came before it.
That means you're too far awayHe's not doing that move when I do that. Instead he does a charge attack akin to the watchdog.
I found more success baiting his poison spit move by staying at a distance. Unfortunately he does it less in the second phase.
why didn't anybody warn me about these chalice dungeons ?
I found a guide that told me what order to go in but they didn't tell me what awaited me in the lower levels.
I see a random baby rom![]()
grunt enemies damn near one shoting me at lvl 65![]()
Giant centipedes everywhere then rom shows up with his goons![]()
Reading further threw the guide it's only gonna get worse and they gonna half my health at some point![]()
It's so easy to adjust to this new system without getting frustrated and I think it fits perfectly with the context of this type of combat. I'll concede it's probably not ideal for every skill level and play style but you sorta lose me with "nonsense" declarations. To each their own. We'll probably never agree on this but that's cool.![]()
After I, I quit and reloaded on the spot. When I reloaded, gave Viola's sister the ribbonher sister's body was on the ground and I got the white ribbon from it.
No luck. I just reloaded in front of the stairs but she isnt showing up
Stairs? Did you mean at the bottom of the long ladder next to the house?
This is true, but it's not fun in any way whatsoever. Why are people struggling to farm blood vials? You can go through Central Yharnam and should be able to get 20 vials in 5 minutes if you take the shortcut route to the Cleric Beast's lamp.
It's even quicker if you are late game as you one shot everything except for the Werewolves.
