Personally I think the Watchdog is pretty easy, but I completely disagree that Amy is 0 luck.

Why is that? I consider it to be one of the easiest and most boring in the game. He only has like 3 different attacks that will never hit you and leaves his face open to attack, his 2nd phase makes it even easier to hit him because he is open to attack more often, and his third phase is the easiest because you can just wail on his legs/tail which forces his AI to spam jumps.

Was apparently supposed to be a shortcut to the Cleric Beast but was taken out for some reason.

Okay, since we're talking about doors...

What about the door in the Gaol that has a couple dogs guarding it (past the pig). I assume that will open later?

Yeah I cheesed the fuck out of those guys. I had them chase me to a cell room and closed the door and attacked them through the bars. I do not know anyone who took on all three at once and won...
I did. Visceral attacked the small guy from behind to start the fight, then Hunter Axed my way to victory.

Playing through second time with an arcane build, really disappointing. About the biggest source of non physical damage I've done is with tonitrus, and I could do that on any character. I haven't gotten all the items yet, but most of them are extremely useless.

The beast roar is kind of nice when you're surrounded, otherwise tentacle claw has a long cast time and mediocre damage (and also a slow recovery), tiny tonitrus does mediocre damage for 6 QS bullets, empty phantasm shell's effect isn't noticeable. Haven't had a chance to use the gloves or a call beyond, but everything seems extremely mediocre compared to the magic builds in dark souls 1/2. Even the arcane stat scaling on weapons is bad. I feel like arcane damage is unnecessary, Bolt seems to excel against most enemies, Fire does against beasts.

Basically there's no reason to go Arcane or pump points into it. You're better off using flame paper or bolt paper for the bosses that have certain weaknesses.

Most of this I can agree with except Executioner's Gloves are damn good. Does good damage to a good variety of mobs, and wrecks reds in PvP and certain bosses (A
mygdala
for one).

Choir Bell needs to be much, much earlier and lower cost. Faith Souls players got the biggest shaft in the transition to BB; while this is a different game they could have at least put a few support spells early on like they did for the equivalent to Sorcery.

And those jumps can one-shot you easily, especially in certain rooms.

In the 3rd phase, he always jumps a few feet away from where you are, you would have to actively try to get hit by it, and even then, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to move that much distance in the time it takes to land. I have never been hit by his jump.

Just got the game, booting up for the first time and going totally blind.

Let's do this!
I did the same, quite the rush! Just try and not be discouraged at times. Don't be afraid to look up some of the finer points online, a lot is unexplained in regards to items/game mechanics. It is really great when you "get it" though :)

A
mygdala
down. Definitley the hardest of the 13 bosses for me so far. Last attempt was pretty easy after seeing a video that made use of
throwing knives.
. I'd literally never used them. Got a stun and visceral in from those, plus their damage, and then two canon shots to finish her off.

When you go to the Cathedral Ward and head down to the guy with the huge ball and chain, there are some steps that lead down to a room full of pots. Just off of that there's a locked door ... HOW THE HELL DO YOU OPEN IT!?

... I've tried everything.

Yes it opens. You have to get the key from the unseen village area. It's inside a cage you have to drop from another story to get

whew what a run i had the past few hours B^) finally clicking a bit

damn that machine gunner , fuck him >:( guy is just clearing me out but i made it to the chapel but left cause that thing in the middle looks like a boss, im not investigating that thing yet haha

problem.is most people dont know that about phase 3. Took me god knows how many hours to figure that out. Once i did, i was like, seriously?

That's not true. I have had him jump directly on top of me right to the spot I was at repeatedly. He certainly does not *always* jump a few feet away from where you are.

Great Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice doesn't reduce your health, does it?

no. it will feel like a break after beating the defiled chalice. Enemies are not much hard but you have 2x more health. 1st boss is cake, 2nd one is cake for me but other dont say the same, the last boss can be hard but is easy once you get the hang of the battle.

The intentional matchmaking in this game is terrible. Why can I not connect with my friend 7 miles away from me with the same password?

After 15 or more deaths just trying to get to the first boss I beat it on my first attempt. Fuck right. I want to tell the world so I'm telling GAF. Close enough. I'm terrible at these games so this is a magical moment for me... then I was killed by a pig.

Good job! No shame in dying to bacon! There is a way around him. Up the ladder and across the bridge then down the ladder and sneak in behind him.

I missed Eileen the crow on my 3rd character and killed a few bosses already... Is there anyway to get her to appear or am I going to have to wait for NG+? She's not in her 1st location or by the cathedral ward.

Hey guys..

I have just finished my first playthrough of the game.. is there anyway to see how many hours I spent on my character? I could not find anything on the settings menu

those two wolves were harder than that boss haha, fuck those wolves

i saw the pig in the distance and said nope but later went after it

You can pan the camera up while he jumps and roll before he lands to i-frame through it if it's near you. Once I figured that out I never got hit on the defiled fight.

I'm at the FF boss and I can't ring the bell for help. It lets me select it, but I can't use it. I just died there before and ran back. I'm level 53 fyi.

Any reason it won't let me summon help?
