People thought this might be toned down from the source material right? After seeing Daredevil, I really doubt that's the case. Tennant going to go full blown "Politician's Husband" on us.

That is what I don't get, the series isn't that graphic. It leaves a lot to your imagination.
 
When do we expect this to air? Sometime in Fall 2015?

After Daredevil, I'm interested to see where these street level shows go next

Yeah but before I watched Daredevil I'd have thought even implied (Alias comic spoilers)
sexual abuse
would have been a no-go.

But man, if David Tennant gets development like D'Onofrio's Fisk...
 
You know the scenes in Daredevil with Foggy and Karen getting shitfaced and talking? Jessica Jones is probably gonna be like 75% that. Bring in She-Hulk and Hellcat to commiserate and barfight with some horny schmuck who don't know any better. Gimme 13 hours of that and I'm good.

So Jessica Jones is:

- A former superhero having lost her powers, and is now a detective.
- She now investigates things, and go around bars fighting people.
- There's a lot of hard language and sexual tones.

Is that correct? Someone please correct me.

Her powers of flight and super strength are as generic as possible on purpose. Wouldn't make storytelling sense to do anything flashier.

Is being able to fly confirmed?
That would be a kind of power one might want to lose on a TV budget.
 
So she have her powers, and her powers are flight and super strength but she don't use them? And she's also dating Luke Cage, that's why he is in this show?

And what is the whole deal about Jessica and the Purple Man?

His power is mind control. He keeps her as a slave for around a year, making her commit crimes. He never actually has sex with her, but he forces her to watch as he essentially date rapes multiple women. He also like makes her get into a state where she wants him like crazy but he refuses to sleep with her.

She eventually gets snapped out of it when she accidentally attacks Scarlett Witch (thinking she was Daredevil on Purple Man's commands), but the experience leaves her incredibly fucked up which is why she loses the superhero moniker and retires.

Makes me think they might get Cox involved in a few scenes, since I guess if the MCU operates in real time he'll have been Daredevil for a while then and might have had a run in with Purple Man.

So they could keep the power of flight but make it more of a liability than an advantage. Flying takes some CGI money and for a Netflix budget thats clearly not possible.

In the comic, they actually didnt dated... They sleept together, Jessica got pregnant and thats how they came together and married later one. In between, she dated with Scott Lang. But he left her once Jessica told him that she was pregnant.

Purple Man has the power to control people once they touch him. He abused her in a psychological and sexual way, but he didnt raped her... At least Jessica says that. Really hard tobac and I can imagine that it will be very difficult to pull this off in a sensitve way. She could break free due to help of Jean Grey from the X-Men, but this event let her stop using her powers and beeing a superhero and so she started Alias Investigations.

Wow, sounds absolutely amazing, and it seems that's the way they are taking the show with Purple Man and all. I hope they won't hold back. But why will she end up with the Defenders team, if she have decided not to use her superpowers? What can she even bring the Defenders?
Ah, so she can help the team with her Alias Investigations, and so she will be more like behind the doors, while the three other street heroes will be the front-runners?

She is a kind of member of the New Avengers... More supportive than actually a fighter. I dont see her actually going really back into the superhero business beside a couple of smaller fights.

She is involved in the current Mighty Avengers arc. Mainly because she's dragged into it.
