Okay, looks like it's finally done. He had to reupload it because youtube nonsense, it's here now, if you missed my edit.
Thanks a bunch, added to the OP and asked a mod to change the title.

If I remember correctly, doll fuel is consumed by using arts and by flying, so you'll be still able to explore without being held back by the fuel too much. Just avoid too much fighting and use flying to get to otherwise unreachable places or as a shortcut. Fuel gets slowly replenished when you're exiting the doll so in combination with saving up, I think it's a good setup for exploring, without gamers being overpowered. There are many areas you'll want to explore on foot once in a while, so all is well for me.The bit about fuel kinda threw me off. She said Miranium used to replenish fuel is super expensive; I wonder how they balanced that with use of the Doll. She made it sound like you'll have a hard time filling up the tank, which means I can't use a Doll as much as I'd like?

so i just saw this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8f5XlrwhXsw
to me the textures are lower quality/worse. theres alot more detail missing (details in background, people, robot, etc). They went a step backwards in the lighting department. It clearly looks worse to me but some people are saying its pretty much identical. am i blind?!
Seems to be handled a lot like it was in gears, which wasnt a problem at all.
Its a bit pricey at the beginning of the game, which makes it a bit of a challenge for early sections, but as the player progresses, becomes more powerful, and amasses wealth, it becomes less and less of an issue.
That being said, like in xenogears, there will probably be moves, and parts you can buy to amplify said moves, that can replenish fuel, even in battle. Will probably make those players very popular in squad missions.
Considering this is kind of exactly how affinity links + equips worked in Xenoblade, I'm expecting they'll do something like that with Dolls. It would be nice it it was like Xenogears where you could strategize your Doll equipment to focus on more fuel at the cost of max hp, and vice versa. I always loved having to tweak things in Xenogears for each boss battle.
Overclock Mode gave me flashbacks to Infinity Mode for Gears in Xenogears.
I'm not too worried about the Fuel issue - it looks like they were going for a balance where you wouldn't overuse the Dolls to do all your fights and fly everywhere, but there don't appear to be limitations on exploring by driving the Dolls, and there's slow auto-refueling so if you run out and want to fly somewhere you won't be completely stranded.
It seems like some of the best Doll models and weapons for customization will be rewards for fighting the "World Enemies" so it might force you to go online, but since I think you can do squad missions with AI members if you choose, it's not quite the same as forced online multiplayer (which annoys me, like when Mass Effect 3 gated the best endings behind a requirement that forced you to use multiplayer).
And joining in on the thanks for the video translation - it was really well done and made things much more clear.
Does anyone know the name of the track that starts at around 12:20 in the video? It's fantastic.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D launches today on Nintendo 3DS XL (the first game that requires Nintendo's new handheld to run), and we were able to send a few questions over to the game's developers in Japan. Check out the Q&A below that covers Xenoblade's original launch on Wii, what it took to bring the game to a portable device, and a few details about the upcoming Wii U-exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Answers were provided by Testuya Takahashi (the head of developer Monolith Soft), representatives from Monster Games (the company that worked on the 3DS port), and representatives from Nintendo SPD (an internal Nintendo developer that is lending support to Monolith).
Without revealing any spoilers, what can fans of Xenoblade Chronicles look forward to when the franchise comes to Wii U? Will it feel familiar for returning fans, or will it be a departure from what was put together in Chronicles?
Takahashi: I think Xenoblade Chronicles X will have a different play feel from the first Xenoblade Chronicles game. Xenoblade Chronicles is a pretty linear game, but Xenoblade Chronicles X is non-linear, and I think a lot of the gameplay will depend on that.
Xenoblade Chronicles’ core thrust is centered around its story, but Xenoblade Chronicles X is shaping up to be a game with more focus placed on action elements that take advantage of the open world instead of the story aspects. However, both games will retain a common feel based on the core elements that serve as the foundation for the series. It may feel different to play, but it’ll provide a new way of having fun within the same Xenoblade series.
Thanks as always. Great job!Subbed narration video is processing, should be available shortly.
Well, I'm sad to hear about that story news, but I'm sure it will still be a fun game.
You're not reading this right. You're reading this as "there's barely any story in the game" when what it means is that you're pushed along by story events in a linear fashion because it's more dependent on what you actually do and when you do it. They've made it pretty clear that there is a lot of story stuff going on.
Anyway, after careful reflection:
Mission 1: find Doll + armor design that looks closest to a gundam
Mission 2: beam saber + large beam rifle

Now we just need Newtype shenanigans. Otherwise I'm just gonna paint mine red.
Neg, I read it right, but maybe I didn't represent myself properly. I like the linear story structure of the past games/this kind of game and that is one of the things I was looking forward to. Basically even though I wasn't a big fan of the way the story ended up in Xenoblade it is pretty much one of my favorite formats. Major linear story that leads you through the world with a shit ton of side stuff that you can handle along the way.
holy shit, the mechs in this game are amazing. are squads random or can you choose who is in your squad?
