Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition |OT| Shoot them with your guns (Again!)

Can I ask what the OT title is referring to? All I can think of is the old Cannon Fodder theme song lol
Timestamped:

It's from the Skell battle theme

Flying around in the skell, picking up all the FrontierNav nodes I was missing before... the best.

Problem with the other games in the series is they don't have the same level of movement and exploration as this. 3 also is VERY slow at unlocking battle mechanics so you with me just sitting there were for awhile. Having played them all and now playing the Xenoblade Chronicles X remake, this is the best gameplay in the series.

XCX is like an AAA production considering the scope of the world and the others more like AA with more focus on personal stories.

Just a bit of advice for those having a hard time on some story mission where it seems the level cap jumps way up.

Just try the dark souls method.. ignore the fights and run straight to where you need to go. This works well for chapter 5. Just run straight through ignoring all the enemies .. most will just ignore you. Destroy the easy turrets and it will trigger a cut scene that clears all the aggros each time.

About 14 hour in and... wow i had forgotten how big this game is, not just the world but all of the system etc.
Currently stuck in one of the early affinity missions (the one you pick up by the fridge in the blade barracks), the second part of it wants me to collect specific items via the probes....but not sure how i can tell what the probes are harvesting.

Two things that sorta bug me... (But they are nit picks).. i don't like that accepting an affinity mission locks you out of main story progression.... just seems like an odd choice
New LA music.... if it didn't loop so much it might be better but each of the pieces are pretty short..... so its just the same bits over and over...

Yeah. I don't like that there's no opting out of affinity missions.
Are you talking about the Lynn one? If it's the one I'm thinking of that took awhile to get the resources.
It's White Cometite isn't it?
If so, I got it from here:

I also like this when I finished Xenoblade 3. But the then the field skill system in Xenoblade annoyed me too much lol
Every time I get the feeling to replay XC2, I remember the field skills + merc missions and I lose interest.

I love XC2 but man that game has whole gameplay systems that need to be completely removed or reworked.

Yes that is the one. Thanks for the picture, I will make sure I have a mineing probe in that location

Xenoblade 2 actually has many great ideas, but the execution is terrible. lol

I will say it definitely feels nice to have a proper huge adventure game that looks great and has big-time scope on Switch again, even if it's a remaster. We haven't really had something like this since TOTK.

One QoL thing that would've been better is how far enemies chase you when aggro… it's a little silly, like obviously I didn't mean to aggro this thing 30 levels above me, can you just let me run away instead of wasting my time waiting to be killed and respawning?

Leveling is super easy with Skells. Close to level 50 now.

Haven't started Chapter 10 yet. Debating on whether I should blow through the rest of the story this weekend. There are other games I'm eager to play before Doom drops. Khazan looks dope.

I played a bit and while it looks great I just cant stomach 30fps anymore.

Just starting this, any tips for a noob?

Also, for the voices... japanese or english?

edit: think I'll go with jap voices. Also Elma has a nice ass. That's all.

Just hit the 50 hour mark, and just finished chapter 10. Seems I'm getting pretty close to the end of the story. I need to level up a bunch.

I havent even unlocked my Skell yet, either you guys playing this with crazy speed or I'm just crazy slow.

^ Enel has an awesome channel with guides for everything. Check it out if you feel like you're not quite getting something or you just want all the best strategies for the game.

Otherwise I'd say just go at your own pace and play however you want to play. There isn't a lot of missable stuff or ways of irreversibly screwing yourself.

Oh I am……I'm in no rush finishing this game as fast as possible.
I'm really teasing this one out. I am up to skells, but taking it real slow getting unique skells for my party and giving them custom paint jobs. Some look great, others not so much. My "constructicon" skell (green and purple) looks awesome but my "famicom" skell (off-white, dark red, and gold) didn't really work out. Gonna be playing for months and 1-shotting super bosses with OP post game weapons

I'm now 14+ hours in and I'm closing out Chapter 3. I'm having a lot of fun exploring and grinding levels. Found a cave and I was able to take out some level 24+ bugs at only level 17 and they are helping me rank up my class. I love the beginning part of Black Tar but man when those lyrics kick in yikes! But when that Tyrant / Unique music starts up man it gets me pumped up to fight even though I get wrecked most of the time. :messenger_grinning_smiling:
