Thought I'd post these here, since this is appropriate. Ript is currently running these designs:

I personally got the Animated Series one as a poster. Their shirts don't fit me entirely the best, though I do have a few.

Marathoned the entire show on the day of release. I was blown away. Show got me hooked with the first episode, and by the end of episode 2, I knew it was something else. The best way I can describe watching the show is like an extremely satisfying experience of reading a great comic run all in one go, and the Netflix release format really lends itself to that. Yes, there is still more to come, but what is contained within the first season alone is great by itself and I'm super hyped for the next season.

I have a ton of hopes and questions I'd like to see realised and answered. I'll definitely watch the season again before the second comes out. I gotta say, much as I loved the show, and as nonsensical as it may sound, I kind of wish Netflix released one episode a week. Much more content gets produced around the show that way, and there is so much fun to be had in the discussion, speculation and hype surrounding the show as a week to week event. That's not a criticism against the show itself though, I think I've made it clear how much I adore it, it's just a personal preference.

Just finished the last episode. This show is something really special.

Not only is it the best thing Marvel Studios has done, it's probably the best live action superhero anything I've ever seen.

I need to know what the story is with how this is going to continue. Even if the other Netflix shows are great, I don't want to have to wait till they've all aired for the second season of Daredevil.

The choreography and directing on the final fight felt really poor.

I agree with this, and I largely blame
the suit, and perhaps D'Onofrio's physical limitations
. It's probably the weakest fight in the entire series, unfortunately.

I thought Matt's spandex vigilante outfit was a lot better than the Dardevil suit. Cox just looked so great in it. Going forward, I hope they modify the Daredeil suit to be more formfitting and allow for greater mobility.

The actor for Fisk was substandard throughout the season.

Maybe as far as action goes, but I thought the rest of his performance was great.

After watching this I'm convinced that Fisk is now Marvel's best villian. I mean the Marvel villians are terrible so that's not saying much, but I actually care about Kingpin's development unlike the moustache twirling villians marvel usually uses.

I just finished and I don't remember any other show I've been so conflicted about. Everything is amazing except
for the main villain being the most inept, useless piece of shit I've ever seen. All he ever does is be awkward, mumble about better future, ask someone to 'make arrangements' or lose his crap and kill someone he actually should have kept alive. Zero charisma, no real purpose, completely unconvincing, every single freaking scene involving Fisk had me rolling eyes and waiting for it to be over. I don't recall ever seeing a worse excuse for a 'villain'
. And with that being the main plot line and having so much screen time it pretty much ruined the show for me. Felt like eating ice cream where someone just went and replaced the caramel with jalapenos.

Really dragged an otherwise great show down for me, hopefully
he'll either go through some major freaking character development or be a much, much smaller part of the next season.

Of course I saw it but that didn't say he got these superhuman powers due to the chemical compound that got in his eyes.

So am I right to assume that there was nothing special about these chemicals? All I have seen is how losing sight enhanced his other senses. Having your other senses enhanced by the loss of another shouldn't give you superpowers.

this is what I thought too until he specifically said the chemicals gave him heightened senses.
So you aren't alone don't worry.

Kingpin was not a Loki.

He was a crime lord.

People want a badass, over-the-top Marvel villain in the vein of what we got in the films. This was never the point of Daredevil.

Vanilla and Jalapeno ice cream sounds fantastic, tho.

Just finished E11, got a question to the people that finished the series:
FIrst of all, my favourite character just fucking died. So that's a shame. Anyway, do either Melvin/Betsy die?

This first season clearly showed Fisk before he became "The Kingpin" and was pushed by Dare Devil to becoming the KingPin. He's actually conflicted during this first season about trying to deny his dark side and reason that he is a good guy ultimately. The stuff with his past basically introduces the trauma that confuses Fisk up until his good Samaritan speech later on. I dont think people realize that Kingpin didn't start at the top he started in Jail and resolved to take over afterward. I just think he missed ...all of that. I don't even think they called him Kingpin. This 1st season clearly was doing the origin and development of both Fisk and Murdock INTO DD and Kingpin side by side.

I think you are right though they want an over the top villain but got the origin of a villain, I thought that was great there was no lack of antagonists , drama and malicious intent just because Fisk wasnt the Kingpin yet.

Even though it was an origin, I hope they never "Marvelize" Kingpin.

Yo I'm in the middle of ep 8 and
Wesley is the goddamn man of the year for bringing Vanessa to calm Wilson down. BEST DUDE. You know, best murder-y assistant dude

Kingpin was not a Loki.

He was a crime lord.

But that's just it, instead of a crime lord he was just a second tier mob bruiser with anger issues and a badly written romance arc. Wesley was more of a crime lord than he was in this show and I have no freaking clue how someone who seems so clueless about pretty much everything got to the position he was in.

Sure, it was mentioned a few times that he pretends to be a lot dumber than he is, but he's really good at pretending and never really stops, not even for the benefit of the viewers.

Fisk is lot of angst and social awkwardness but it feels to me like they forgot to attach the actual crime lord to all this heavy handed 'nuance'.

Really enjoyed the season, start to finish. Not a particular fan of what happened, you know, that scene. Just kinda crappy. I never read a single issue of DD, but yeah, it kinda sucks what happened.

What sucks even more is waiting a few years for another season.

By a few you mean like one?

At least two or three years, since we first have to go through the Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Defenders series

Deals can be renegotiated and if internet buzz is anything to go by, Daredevil might be one of Netflix most successful programs. As I said in another thread, it makes little sense to have the cast and producers sit on their asses for two or more years.

It's the same people doing those?

No. DD and AKA Jessica Jones have different showrunners and different casts.

Yeah that's what I was thinking.

I thought focus would shift to the rest of the Defenders. I don't really expect another season until after the miniseries or at least the other shows have had their season.

Just finished episode 5. A comment I wanted to make after episode 4:
Don't ever fuck up one of Kingpin's dates. Seriously.

He doesn't do this often, and on the ONE NIGHT he's with a woman...

What scene are you referring to?

At this rate, Daredevil is the Iron Man of MCU TV. They'd be stupid not to continue his story arch as soon possible. Only thing that sucks is I bet lining up everyone's schedule would be very difficult at this point. So perhaps in early 2017 we'll get season 2.

Just finished episode 6
with Daredevil having his first conversation with Kingpin over the radio and leaving Vladimir in the sewer with a gun
. It feels like the overall first act of the show has ended. Really good and tightly wound so far with occasional moments of nice levity, mostly in the Foggy-Paige scenes.

Finished it today with my friend. Episodes 10 and 11 I felt were the weakest of the whole show
shocking end of 11 aside
. And having finished the show my final thoughts on the suit? It looks much better not zoomed in to the front and in motion.

I can't decide which show I love more between this and The Flash. They both aim at completely different things. But yeah as far as superhero shows goes this blows Agents of SHIELD out of that water, and that show really grew on me.

I'd say it deserves an 8.5/10 if only because some episodes really slowed down the excitement.

Daredevil flips > Roy (Arrow) flips
