I finished the game yesterday. Got the 3 umbilical ending. Was underwhelmed. But it's souls. NG+ is a wee bit harder because all the enemies have more HP. Can't really be bothered to go through it again I think.
Impressions of the game: Bloodborne plays really great. There are some really cool ideas in it for pvp and co-oping, but sadly, they work like shit. I'd like to co-op through my NG+ experience, but it just never finds folks to play with. Same goes for invading, it's so rare that it actually works that I forget about it.
Comparing it to Demons and Dark Souls, it's more of a comparison to Dark Souls where both lose their momentum towards the end of the game. Demon's was a bit shorter, but each area was so unique that as a player you always want to venture forward. And instead of lengthening the replayability the chalices dampen the momentum of Bloodborne, for me. They're a chore to go through because they're quite easy at first, then they're a chore to go through because they're just busting your balls. Luckily they're completely optional, but I still wanted to try them, and sadly they killed a bit of momentum of me.
Took me about 40 hours to finish first run, blind mostly, with a few questions to fellow players or here on GAF. I'm not going to rate it better or worse than the Souls games, because they're all great. Will definitely get DLC if it comes out, and will definitely keep checking back when it gets patched. But for now; thanks From, it was a good experience, but I'll get back to other stuff now.
