Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

Well just finished the game and overall I'm quite pleased.

Got the true ending and the fights were super cool, the end cutscene was a bit wtf but that's From for you. I have my own thoughts about what it might mean but I'll be curious to see the different endings on subsequent playthroughs. My play through was mostly blind though I did have a list of areas in a recommended order.

After reading a bit as the credits rolled it looks like I did alright for myself. Finished most of the NPC quests, though I did mess up the little girl one. Only farming I wound up doing was for bullets/vials a couple times and to buy up all the armor before I took on Moon Presence.

Blood starved beast was probably my hardest fight of the whole game. Everything after him was done in 1-3 attempts. Awesome game, some really great bosses and areas. Didn't mess with Chalice stuff at all, but I intend to now.

Oh yeah I forgot to reply to this as well:

Brainsuckers...it's like From decided to sit down and think about how to make literally the most annoying enemy they have ever created. Annoying projectiles that they spam endlessly? Check. Their grab move having an infuriatingly gigantic range? Check. Annoying-ass sounds, from their cries to their squishy footsteps? Check. An extra loooooooong grab move animation that's basically the game shouting "HA! YOU FUUUUCKED UUUUP!!!" (what, it's like 10+ seconds?)? Check. Draining not one, but TWO insight each. and. every. single. time. it happens? Check. The fact that these fuckers can do another grab move immediately after having done one? Check.

I had 43 insight before I entered Upper Cathedral Ward. I beat the area's boss with 21. Twenty fucking one. You bet I was the saltiest motherfucker playing the game at that moment.

I know how you feel. In the end I just spent all my insight so they couldn't steal from me lol. Then I figured out that just rushing them and going aggressive worked almost every time (a weapon that staggers works wonders) as opposed to being safe and dodging.

If BSB was your hardest fight... Well, then you must have missed a few optional bosses ;)

So why has no one complained about the fact that this game is always online yet has faulty servers that can disconnect and interrupt your gameplay completely, I love suddenly being sent to the title screen.

This only happened to me once in 80 hours of play and it was my internet crapping out, not the servers.

Nah, BSB was definitely the hardest boss for me, too, and I got all of them according to the Wiki. Probably took 5 or 6 tries. Second hardest was Logarius until I figured out how easy he could be if you simply didn't let him buff himself.

Every other boss wasn't too tough. Same as the other poster, they were down in one to three (at the most) tries.

Then again, apparently I was over-leveled according to one poster. Didn't do any souls grinding, though.

Also, I only really went through the first category of Chalice dungeons. Didn't really mess with the rest, because quite honestly, they weren't very interesting. Souls + Diablo was a combination of gameplay I thought I wanted, but apparently not. Or at least now how it's executed in Bloodborne.

Anyway, I just finished the game, too, and got the "true" ending. Started up on NG+, but I think I might play something else for a while. I don't think this game is going to have the same longevity as the Souls games for me.

Strange but real : BB has less replay value, less weapons variety, less diferents builds, no magic, but.... I think BB is better than the Souls games.

It definitely feels a lot more consistently good throughout the main story. Honestly, there wasn't a single area that really stands out as being bad to me. Same with the bosses. Almost all of them were pretty interesting and fun to fight.

It does seem like they had to sacrifice a lot to get to this level of focus and polish. In the end, I think it will have far less longevity and attention from the community compared to the Souls series.

edit: wow, I checked my load screen and it says I have only 31 hours on the clock. I started on April 8th, so around 10 days ago, but it certainly feels like I spent more time on the game. Definitely the fastest I've ever beaten a Souls game.

Anyone brave enough to join me for co-op in Cursed Defiled Dungeon against
Amygdala
? :P

Sure. I'm level 115 I think.

But you're going to have to explain me how to do this co-op shit since the game is fucking stupid when it comes to explaining things to you. Do I just go to the first alter and search for dungeon co-op and hope it matches me with you or....

I just tried the Chalice dungeons and they are really bad. The first depth I did was so boring since I 1 hitted every enemy at level 95, and the bosses felt weak aswell. If you add that the level design is horrendous and boring, now I'm sure I will never have the Platinum.

Also started NG+, but since I have the 3 endings I have no will to continue. The enemies feel like sponges now, but the actual difficulty is the same or less since I know the game mechanics perfectly and also where to go in the areas. The same can be said about the bosses. Maybe if I replay the game in a year it will feel better. Fuck the Chalice dungeons though.

You have to at have Cursed Defiled Chalice unlocked yourself, and you may have already needed to complete it.

if you have, then I believe you just go to Chalice search, and look for my character name which is "Azusa"

I'm level 117 on the third layer right by the lamp. As soon as you get there ring your small bell I'm already ringing my Beckoning.

Don't even worry about the GAF password, not needed for what we're doing. and thanks.

It's funny, don't know how many hours I've put into this, and just about to tackle Rom, but reading pages and pages in here, there's still bosses and areas and items and creatures that I've yet to encounter or have simply just missed for the moment. I do feel like I need to retrace steps to see what extra things I can do but knowing where to start is a ball ache.

How do you check how long you have played the game?

EDit: Nvm, is in the Load Game thingy. Level 96 after 46 hours. I thought I had played way more.

I played the shit out of the game when it came out and platinum'd it
beat it 5 times >_>
. I'm coming back after playing the DS2 remaster and getting my ass handed to me. I recall one-shotting the first 3 bosses, but lost to the first two about 8 times combined.

Also, never noticed but if you gesture at the Doll she reacts to them. It is totally cute.

Just know that there are three -primary- hidden areas. A lot of things are optional, but these things are truly hidden.

Upper Cathedral Ward, Nightmare Realm, Cainhurst Castle

All of these areas are accessible before the ROM fight. In fact, one of the areas is only accessible if you do it before the ROM fight.

Depth 4 and 5 are gears towards lvl100+. Depth 1-3 are meant to play through out the game before ng+ imo. But yeah I hated doing them. They do have some unique bosses and enemies however.

You still able to help?

Someone just joined me and we had Amy past half life when she glitch hit me >_>

Pretty confident I can get her any time now.

Uh, all three of those areas should be accessible after ROM. In fact,
Upper Cathedral Ward
is only accessible after ROM, since
the key is in the part of the Unseen Village with the Bell Maidens.

I never had significant issues with the Brainsuckers.

The singing tentacle brains on the other hand... Those can go fuck themselves with a rusty iron nail.

Ha, opposite for me I had no trouble with the creepy ass brains, but those brainsuckers just piss me off everytime I see them and bother my fighting them lol

It's a quality over quantity thing I reckon. Bloodborne's got better combat, more interesting enemies, better level design, better art and more consistently good bossfight than the Souls series. It might have less of everything but it does it all better so yeah, I also find it better.

Can someone give me a few pointers on how to fight
Eileen the Crow
at the
Grand Cathedral
. Like what gear I should be wearing, tactics, etc.

They're really tough and I'm not sure if I'm not leveled enough (61) or if I just really suck. My guess is the latter.

Close to middle range, try to bait then party her if I remember correctly, It's been awhile since I fought her.

Use a quick weapon (like Kirkhammer sword mode) and spam R1 until stamina is low (but don't let it run out completely), then back off and let it recharge. The foe likes to attack after rolls, so be wary of that. Also a rather easy foe to parry.

You shouldn't be fighting her. I'm assuming you failed the quest? What I did fighting the hunter you are suppose too, is just to lure the enemy to the very entrance of the Grand Cathedrel, since they won't follow you, making them easy targets for counters and long range attacks.

Where and how do i find said hidden parts?

BSB was hardest boss in my first run. Now I can take him out no problem but since he is third boss you will be still learning how to play the game. Having constant poison build up at the end of the fight isn't great either.

Shit, I guess so. I just read up on it. I suppose I'll do it right on NG+

After entering the Forbidden Woods, you will probably receive a Tonsil Stone from a NPC somewhere in the game. Go to the chapel with the big closed door to the right of the Grand Cathedral (past the two NPC hunters and executioners) and let the swirly blue vortex take you.

In the Forbidden Woods there's a cave next to the dog cages in the first village area. There's a ladder in the cave that will take you to a familiar place. Once you find the Cainhurst Summons, take them to the area with the dog pack in front of the Witch's Abode in Hemwick.

In the area after Rom, there's a corpse with a key in a cage. Find a way to get the key, then bring it to the locked door in the workshop accessed by elevator from Cathedral Ward.

Wait, that key is found in the room before O

though.

Hey do you think it's possible for someone playing BB for the first time to beat either Gascoigne or the other beast boss with his bare hands without dying once?

Hey do you think it's possible for someone playing BB for the first time to beat either Gascoigne or the other best boss with his bare hands without dying once?

With just their bare hands, no.

With the gun, yes you could kill Father G, but you;d have to get lucky with the timing if it'd be your first time, so still not very likely.

Mulitplayer is fucked 10 ways to Sunday.

I'm sitting here in the room just before E
brietas
and I'm summoning exactly two people: Jack and Shit. Same for helping others, sitting for 10 minutes and nothing. I'm at lvl 69 which based on my previous attempts at the boss I'm pretty sure I'm not over/underleveled. What's most infuriating is that I'm literally seeing white ghosts standing around as well. Players are there. Everyone is waiting, and nobody can play because From idiotically decided to automatically do matchmaking while simultaneously breaking said matchmaking.

I'm absolutely baffled as to why this was changed to be the way it is. There's no cooperation anymore, because there's no way of knowing where you or your summoner/summonee will be at the time of the summon. The only place where you're both guaranteed to be in the same place at the same time is the room before the boss, which means basically any cooperation in the entire game is restricted to boss battles.

This shit just flat out doesn't work. I'm sitting here for 10+ minutes waiting for people to help/be helped by and I have zero clue if there's anyone even available. What's worse is you can physically see people waiting around and you still can't get/offer help.

From completely broke their own multiplayer and I have no clue why. Why would they do this?
I agree 100% I played pvp for the first time really in my first play through yesterday.. Played about 2 hours and only fought 8 people -_____- had about a 5-10 minute wait in between each fight... The BELL system just makes coop and pvp in this game a fucking chore... It's really sad. :/ not to mention if your not a bloodtinge build you'll will most likely get rekt in pvp anyway... People just stand there shooting the fuck out you hoping to get a V attack.... :/

I was going around seeing if their was anyplace else to pvp at was thinking the fucking lake would have been an awesome pvp battling ground it's wide and open but you can't even ring your bell there
Smfh from.....
I really enjoy the Pvp players. Got invaded, first thing he did was walk up to me and bow. I bow back and we contiune with our match. We both didn't use blood vials. Manage to win in the end, and gave a bow as he left.
Man you lucky I probably played over 1k battles on DS2 PC and about 90% of my fights was just like this .....so far every fight has been vailtowin for me :(.....

Died to watchdog in the defile dungeon when it had ~2% health left. I feel numb..

I know the feeling. Just keep pressing on. If you beat it tonight, we could co-op the next layer together ;o

Ugh. I feel your pain. My dungeon was stuck on that boss for a long time. Killed him today only to now be stuck on next boss.

Exactly who I'm fighting now. Got her under 10% twice in a row now. Just gotta be super careful then >_>
