Agreed...want at least another scene like this...

Haha yes this was gold, but in his solo stuff he doesn't really get to do enough cool shit. Hopefully Joss takes him to new heights and gives him an upgrade like the Russos did for Cap.

I definitely wouldn't mind seeing Branagh back for Ragnarok. But I want to see Thor really have some crazy shit to do.

Oh man, I've been tiptoeing around Marvel threads since supposed leaks, it's too close to accidentally spoil myself. Great job on the OT.

Two days to go. IMAX 3D at 1:30, was going to do midnight premiere but no trains back D: .

Throwback to the initial SDCC trailer that has had me hyped for almost 2 years

I remember thinking 2015 was so far away. Now we're here!

the fact that this releases in two days in many countries are there is only one RT review is a huge red flag.

By now we should have tons of reviews...only crappy movies have review embargoes that last until release.

Reviews are out tomorrow.

Thursday 7pm 3d tickets booked. Always enjoy how Australia gets these movies a week earlier than the US.

Also yeah, will probably use a dedicated spoiler thread to post about the movie so this whole thread isn't clogged up with black bars.

Reviews are out tomorrow.

just one day before its release in several countries.

like i said, red flag.

Even Furious 7 had reviews out way ahead of time.

Perhaps Marvel realizes that reception to this one won't be nearly as positive as the first.

this was gold, but I prefer his resurrection scene in Thor 1. when he gets up completely engulfed by lightning, standing in his iconic pose...awesome moment

I have lost all hope about MCU Thor, tho

One review came out today.

We still have a week in America. If I recall, Winter Soldier's reviews came out relatively close to the release of the film (correct me if I'm wrong). As for GotG, the earlier reviews were a mix of confidence & the need to drum up some extra hype for GotG (which worked). Age of Ultron doesn't need the extra hype.

Pretty sure they know they'll make bank regardless.

You're trying to read one of those "bad film has review embargo" things into this, and it's greatly reaching.

Maybe you're right, but to play a similar game, Marvel probably wouldn't have done a press screening two weeks ago and moved it to this week instead, to get it closer to release with a smaller window to write a review. And/or have an NDA signed by the press not to post anything related to the movie until the embargo for reviews are up.

We got positive Twitter reactions, but not quite full reviews.

The first release for AoU on April 21 is a small amount of countries. The bigger release is in three days.

Quick, are you going to make a review thread as well?

I could whip one up if the reviews are out past midnight (ET or PT) tonight. I won't claim anything if someone wants to do it (not that reviews threads are anything to claim). I'm also waiting on them to post a reviews section in here. :)

Avengers: Reviews of Ultron has a nice thread name ring to it. :p

Cool OP, I guess? Possibly informative? I dunno, hard to tell with images turned off.

I don't have images off, but I am with you with not liking OPs being just images with text in them. The main reason being that they don't scale for the device you are on. The text in the OPs pictures is unreadably small while browsing on my phone for instance.

I love how "midnight showings" are considerate now, booked my tickets for 7:00 pm on the 30th. New theater, reserved leather recliner seats, can show up at 6:59 and not have to worry about bad seats! So stoked!

Very first statement:
Never been a fan of 3D in general

I can understand the complaint of it being hard to focus on with so much going on since I remember people having similar complaints about Pacific Rim, so I made it a point to find a seat in the theater that wasn't too close where I couldn't see the whole screen. It wasn't bad but I can completely understand where it could not look as good for people (I definitely prefer watching Pacific Rim in 3D in a home theater setting over 2D though)

Still, I don't put a lot of weight in someone who doesn't like 3D saying they didn't like the 3D or that it was bad.

That's true for every movie though. I have yet to see one where the 3D actually enhances the experience.

I've seen plenty of movies that were enhanced by 3D.

I've seen a lot less 2D movies stretched on a IMAX screen that did anything to enhance my experience.

I can not see in 3D anyway, but there are no 2D showings close to me, so I am forced to pay the 3D premium price and wear glasses for nothing.
Have been thinking about creating my own 2D glasses.

EDIT: that being said, I like the picture composition in 3D movies.
