Can someone help me finding the classical music played
after the intro mission, the one Banner listens on the headphones
? Thanks

Maybe they can really build this with the hundreds of millions this film will make?

Take an example. There's a movie that doesn't have any reviews but one rotten score, and that too a 2.5/5, for instance, with a few praises here and there even, and it will end up with a 0% score on the site, or even a 100 % if they categorize it as fresh

They have considerations for mixed reactions, which they REALLY should.

Not much shaky cam, but a lot of the action is badly edited. Far too much cutting. There are a handful of great extended shots, but a lot of it is like Liam Neeson jumping a fence in Taken 3.

Edit: Ok, this is an exaggeration, but it can get pretty bad.
That's...real? The cuts are really that horrible in Taken 3? My eyes hurt right now

I enjoyed it a lot. The more humanistic element and downtime scenes exploring the characters were my favourite parts. At times the plot felt a bit rushed and generic though but the highs make up for it. I had a nerd goosebumps
when they all line up together in the church - full classic comic book avengers assembled. Oh and I can't believe they kill of you know who, he was great.
I didn't like the closing ending scene as I thought they could have left out the teasing for the next phase/sequel in more of a better conclusion.

Positives:
+ Great cinematography
+ Awesome chemistry and interaction between the characters
+ Scenes exploring human side of the team
+ Vision, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch all impress

Negatives:
- contrived and predictable plot
- compared to first film the stakes didn't feel as high
- unnecessary action
- unsatisfying conclusion

Saw it, liked it a lot but left me a bit... empty? Maybe that's not the right word. It's a goddamn spectacle, but not much else. Then again, that's what it's supposed to do, I don't think anybody expects a philosophical treaty out of an Avengers movie, but it kinda felt more of a collection of setpieces than a movie at times.

I did have a great time, though. Laughed out loud at some scenes, felt awed at others. It's not my favorite Marvel movie but I don't feel I wasted my time or my money.

My + and - :

+ Cast was good
+ Avengers Fight Combos are really great, especially Thor/Captain one.
+ Hulk VS Iron man
+ Smaller moments
+ Good action scene
+ Pacing of the movie
+ New characters, especially Scarlet Witch.

- Plot
- Humor was bad, just so bad I can't even ...
- The BO was whatever, can't even remember one music from the movie.
- The movie is bland, it's like a Michael bay movie, explosion everywhere, everything got destroyed etc... but lifeless.
- Ultron
- Ultron
- Ultron
- Ultron is one of the worst villain of MCU to date when he could have been one of the best, he was weak, uninteresting, useless, worst, it doesn't feel like he is something really dangerous for the A team, I'm really disappointed.

Overall I can't say i love it and I can't say I hate it, it's more like whatever, I think the movie is more consistent than the first Avengers but doesn't have that thing that make the first one so good and I can't tell why...

Just saw it. Loved it. Can't really say any more right now as I don't feel critic at all, I just enjoyed it, from the opening scene to the credits, pure fun. Would watch again soon. Also, came back from the movie with some goodies

my personal ranking

WS > IM1 > Cap >= GotG > AoU > Hulk > IM3 > Thor > Avengers > IM2 > DW

I don't think I missed anything.

Well just some fuckwad posted pics of the ending on a Hot Toys facegroup I'm part of....

fucking shit balls on a stick, I sort of knew one of them already. Ah well I'm still pumped as a motherfucker.

If anyone cares, the movie is down to 79 % on RT. The site is riddled with scoring issues, but yeah, it's what it is, I guess.

There's still only 6 top critic reviews counted, they almost always drop the score.

If it goes anything like other movies, expect it to settle closer to 75 when all is said and done.

I don't think the issue is "too much seeding" but rather the time spent on the seeding not being in service of the actual film it is in. It doesn't matter if a person "gets" the references or not, the question is whether the scenes played well in the film it is in. In both AoU and IM2, it bloated the films and hurt the pacing.

I know this is anecdotal but what the hell. I went with a group of friends who know nothing but the last movie. Nobody cared about this stuff. They were all too hyped up about the action and the humor to care.
The Thor stuff connected well to the Vision intro for them. Wakanda had no importance to them, seeing I was whispering BLACK PANTHER to them and they didnt get it. They didnt even know CIVIL WAR was happening, so the Tony/Steve conversation was just part of the Ultron mess for them.

So I think Whedon managed to balance that right for fans and newcomers alike. The plot is straight enough for newcomers, and fans get a mindfuck with all the seeding.

I know pretty much everything that happens due to one source or another. Good thing I'm not a spoilerphobe.

Watched Avengers 1 tonight. Still think it's got problems, but when it flies it soars. Some really great moments. And for some reason its imperfections make it memorable.

I'll have to watch WS again before next Thursday. Maybe IM3 if I have the time.

Those who have seen the movie. Do you want to see it again? soon?
I think I will give the movie a second spin in early May, and hope I can find a 2D screening.

By the way, the movie seems to have some motion blur, like the 3D warning from reddit said.

I like that rotten tomatoes is is just going the either or route. And from my experience, when in doubt they seem to have a bias towards rotten, or even ask the author.

But who knows, maybe a mixed/for fans category could work.

I really liked this movie, it went deeper into the characters and their stories, it had a lot of funny moments and
Ultron even if it wasn't a threat, he had fun scenes and chuckled a lot.

I like where they are taking the Brutasha relationship.

WATCH YOUR MOUTH BOYS

I will add a theory...
Avengers 3 part 1: Will be with the New Avengers (Wanda, War Machine, Falcon, Vision/Jarvis, a "Coulson style" revived Pietro and SPIDERMAN)

Avengers 3 part 2: Will include the entire team + Some Guardians of the Galaxy

Also Marvel kept to their promise for now, and no Spiderman teaser.

So it's a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.

Watched it earlier today, it felt like a more ambitious movie which meant that the highs were higher but the lows were lower. I had problems with it but I enjoyed it a good bit, particularly Scarlet Witch.

The % is approval rate. What really matters is the score. 100% with a 7 doesn't mean much and is fairly common.

Anyway, watched it wednesday. Pretty good, not ridiculously good.

Whedon should do a standalone Hulk film. He understands the character and really makes it shine, both emotionally and in action.

+ Hulk VS Iron man

Yes.

Saw it yesterday. I feel that albeit the grandious spectacle, I can only describe the movie as tame. There was so much stuff in it, that it never fully went all out. Ultron was tame, the action was tame (especially teamwork), the setpieces were tame, conflict within the team was tame..

I still liked it, its not bad. Its fun. Overall, its so overstuffed, that I feel a rewatch would make it better. I just really hoped Ultron would globally wreck shit and that the Avengers would be more hostile towards each other. Didn't deliver on that front at all. It still ranks fairly high on my list, its just not great.

And holy hell, stop with that overly cgi battle sequences. In the opening sequence, 30 seconds in, my gf turned to me and said: "that cgi is atrocious!". She was right. It reminded me of that awful Hobbit river and barrell sequence. I can't comprehend what filmmakers are thinking.. Its soulless.

It felt like they took a hatchet to it in the editing room.

Not a bad movie at all in my opinion but I had a lot of LotR cut extended scene déjà vu. Pieces seemed missing, I'm not sure that the missing pieces would solve all of my issues but they might help explain some things.

Is the CGI really that bad? I have found CGI in recent Marvel films to be really good. Especially the the Winter Soldier which had some of the best in recent years.

Hulk cgi when he's interacting with real ppl kinda spotty IMO. Other than that, I thought it was fine.
