DKR was terrible. I got really bored and it was a chore to finish. MoS has its issues but overall, I liked it. I'd watch it again unlike DKR which I will never, ever watch again.

Man of Steel and TDKR are both awful and both guilty of completely missing the point of their chief characters.

Thor 2 never character assassinated Thor. So Thor 2 is easily the best of the three.

TDKR was still worse than Thor 2.

the Thor 2 advantage is low. I will say this.

I've rewatched TDKR a couple times and I havent watched Thor 2 more than the theatre time

but I remember being more disappointed coming out of TDKR than the latter

there is absolutely no defending MoS tho

Well yeah if we are taking into account that sure. Expectations were already on the floor post thor 1 and thor 2 manages to limbo just slightly below those.

Compared to the high of coming off of the greatest superhero movie of all time and the going into the "Completely good but not outstanding" TDKR and yeah you would be more disapointed.

man I don't ge this Thor 2 hate

I actually really enjoyed it

I liked all three movies in the vote, but Thor 2 I enjoyed the least.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the real disappointment, great cast, finally nail the feel of Spider-Man and it turns into an utter shite Schumacher/Batman-levell film. Flabbergasted that people love to hate on these three more than that one

I'd re watch MoS over TDKR, but that isn't saying much. TDKR has some interesting moments scattered throughout but is just boring and uninspiring, Batman's worst characterization of the three Nolan films, Bane has a bunch of fun dialogue moments and his introduction plane scene is killer. MoS is a lifeless film with entertainment to be had during it's over the top but still lifeless fight scenes, I'd only re watch it given the choice because it's shorter.

Yes Thor: The Dark World is bad, not as bad as something like Transformers: Age of Extinction which isn't entertaining on a popcorn flick level.

it was Loki: the movie and that's basically what everyone tumblr wanted

dunno. I think there's way worse Marvel movies and the thor 2 stuff seems to be some kind of meme

I don't get it either, I really liked Thor 2 and I still like it today. I think it's a fun movie with great action and pacing. And everyone I know in real life also thinks its awesome. I just don't get what half of GAF hates about it.....

I dont think its that much about expectations tho

also im one of "those weirdos" I guess that argue Batman Begins is way better than TDK

I can see that side of the argument yeah not that weird. Just think Dark knight has a much better villain and has the advantage of not having to setup batman as a concept.

If we're putting up Thor 2 as an option, I'd say it's the worst of the three and also the worst film Marvel Studios has done.

This isn't like hand to hand combat though this is like combat with live ammo and I think most people agree that there is some degree of responsibility to not fire a gun willy nilly. If a cop is in a firefight with some criminals, they are going to be concerned they aren't unnecessarily putting innocent people in the line of fire if not actively trying to get people to safety.

If Clark cared enough about humans to protect his adopted home and kill Zod when he is going to kill one family, they could at least shown him redirect a fight or attack to shield a puppy orphanage. All it takes is to show him acknowledge or be aware that people could be put in danger and do something proactive to prevent that.

That's not even dealing with the fact that Clark was constantly the one throwing the Kryptonians into buildings first. Him and Zod were standing out in a field and rather than having a corn field fight in the acres of uninhabited farmland, Clark flying tackles through a silo a mile away and into the only gas station in town, exploding it into a giant ball of fire while someone's car is at the pump filling up. Tell me that isn't reckless endangerment.

Clark and Him weren't standing out in a field. Zod was threatening Clark's Mother, while Clark was saving Lois, Clark hears Guy endangering his Mom, Flies to save her at Super speed and Grabs Zod and starts punching him in the face. So Momemtum + Not paying attention cause Face Punching = Mass property damage. Kinda like driving while Texting. Hell did Supes even know he was crashing through stuff being invulnerable? We see him Fall hundreds of feet and smash through an Ice Mountain and he just looked annoyed instead of HOLY SHIT I'M STILL ALIVE!

It had portals and Thor getting into a car i think.

I cannot believe my eyes that I'm seeing people that believe it's better than TDKR. I don't even love TDKR, I have issues with it but compared to Thor 2 it's incredible. At least it has conflict and character growth, you know, fundamental storytelling elements. If Thor 2 weren't made, what impact would it have on anything?

Thor 2. I can't remember a damn thing about that other than a stupid Captain America cameo that made me cringe and some shenanigans in a mental hospital.

It's funny to me that these are presented as though one is meant to present a clear aptitude for action over the other.

They're both shit, lad.

You don't see the dude knocking himself down in the foreground? Like, oh shit, Batman is beatin' up my 2 homies; Imma play dead and maybe he won't notice he never swung at me.

I don't get this argument. Does a movie have to have something big and important happen in order to be enjoyable? Can't a movie just be entertainment? And isn't that entertainment more enjoyable if it isn't offensive or insulting to someone's intelligence? MoS has the stupid Pa Kent death, Lois popping up at every important plot point like she has powers of teleportation, and a joyless humorless air about it. TDKR has the laughable Talia death scene, a villain who is often difficult to even understand when talking, and action scenes that sometimes seem lazily directed.

What did Thor 2 do to so many of you to make you all hate it so much?

Oh, and to the poster who said the Faora in Smallville fight in MoS sucked, WTF????

Do you guys not see in the batman gif the bad guy on the left just falling over by himself?

No I did. They're still both shit.

It's like comparing a turd sandwich with a urine-soaked soup.

They're both awful. And those that try to convince you that either is worthy of consumption should be treated with utter fucking contempt.

MoS fights were like the best version of live-action DBZ we'll ever get.

Lol at thor added into the mix. Dude needs to get his due with Ragnarok

But even still:
MoS on krypton > TDKR = Thor 2 > MoS

EDIT: wait a minute lol. I feel like this thread solely exists to get the Marvel vs DC feud out in the open
