What if Batman vs Superman is actually a sequel to The Dark Knight Rises and Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne is actually Christian Bale a decade later and this movie finally answers the age-old question of "How Can Officer Blake Become Batman With No Training".

The answer is, he didn't.

So I saw some Avengers 2 spoilers that got me thinking about DC's movie slate: at the end of the film, there is an

almost completely new Avengers team.

At the start of their movie universe Marvel took characters nobody outside of comics knew about and made them huge, and they are going to continue this trend with the above spoilers and the Black Panther and Captain Marvel movies. Then I look at DC's movie slate and see that all they have planned for now to 2020 are movies for their most popular characters and I think that's a waste. They should shove some Blue Beetle, Amethyst, or Dr. Fate in there. And Dick Grayson should definitely exist, so he can take the Batman mantle when Ben Affleck is done. I would much rather legacy characters come to prominence than see heroes constantly get re-casted.

Marvel had a while to establish their universe with several big films for Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Avengers, and Gaurdians finally. It will take a while. They are now doing Ant-Man. Patience. Amethyst? I know she had he little short but there are way better and complex female characters imo. Zatanna, Raven, Barda, Canary, Donna Troy.

Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. would be a cool movie.

I don't consider Shazam or Cyborg popular, and we're getting a Justice League Dark. I think it's too soon to be concerned about going hard with c-stringers. Especially when there's a slew of them on DCTV and more to come soon.

JLD could lead to Swamp Thing, Deadman, Amethyst, Frankenstein easily. Ted Kord seems likely for the movies given DC's refusal to put him on Arrow and Zack talking about him.

I'd love a Nightwing movie where he faces off against Blockbuster, and then maybe another Nightwing movie to further establish the character, and then a JL movie that's basically just Forever Evil, and in that JL movie "kill" Grayson so that he can be an awesome spy like the current run. It'd be a good way to diversify the universe.

It's the universe that's become the draw more so than the characters themselves.

But anyway... Without Spidey and X-Men, Marvel started with the next best shit they had. It's really no different from what WB/DC is doing, just that they actually have all their top characters to work with.

And about that film slate... We've got Suicide Squad, Aquaman, Shazam, and Cyborg. Clearly popular characters aren't the only ones in mind. Will Smith is Deadshot -- think about that for a second.

Yep, I agree. And that gif is just so fucking baller. God I love seeing a beast mode Batman that actually looks like he can wreck shit.

Having him fall down to those shots in that moment and subsequently getting up from it feeds into the very urban myths the two thugs were discussing just seconds ago. Theatrics.
