They started doing that when midnight openings became a bigger thing. Just look at the options my theaters is offering for tomorrow.

5:10 am though?

That was way better than the original, the visual style was clearly defined, everything looked so natural, it felt more like an actual movie and less like a big event. The Marvel Third Act (Tm) had tons of variety and very dynamic, the Avengers Money Shot had less impact but still neat. I really liked how long it was and the time it dedicated to turning this characters into actual people rather than the kinda plain Josh Whedon dialog dispensers from the last movie. Marvel doing a hat trick and im really excited for the third phase. Ultron was really different from the first trailer, so going relatively virgin paid off.

8.5/10

Huh. A friend just invited me to the 11:00 IMAX 3D showing. I'm already seeing it with another group at 7:00. Dare I see it twice back to back?

If they save you a seat, why not? But with previews you barely have enough time to get a drink or something in between.

Today's the day!! IMAX 3D showing at 10pm.

I've been waiting for this day ever since I walked out of the theater for Avengers 1 in 2012. I consider Avengers 1 to be the pinnacle of comic book movies, along with TDK. Near perfect comic book translations onto the big screen.

I have little doubt I'll enjoy AoU, but my hype isn't crazy like it was for Avengers 1. I just want to see more teamwork from the group. And of course, more HULK. My one disappointment with MCU is the little love Hulk gets.

Can't wait!

Seeing this Saturday. The wait will suck but gotta work around my friends work schedules. I watched Winter Soldier again last night. Jesus. I don't know if any Marvel movie will top that, such a great action movie.

7 PM.

LAWD YES!!

I can feel my hype slowly rising.

Going with my girl tonight. I'm hoping we have a good crowd!!
Funny that you mention that, I broke up with my girlfriend a while back, shortly after I chose my little bro to go to the IMAX premiere with (though my choice wasn't the cause of the break-up, it was how busy we were). I guess I made the right call.

My daughter saw this last night since she works at the AMC theater. I was supremely jealous. She said it was good but didn't say much else.

Going at 8:00pm. It's so close!

Edit:

An advice, if you can watch it without 3D, it's better !

Too bad, when you have IMAX, there's only IMAX 3D :/
Yea. That's super lame. I would have loved to see this in imax but I'm not a fan of 3D. Oh well. The theater lost out on my extra money.

Going tonight and i'm pumped.

I still haven't seen Thor 2 or Captain America 2 though. Will this be a problem?

Nope, shouldn't be. I don't think it's all that necessary to have seen them both before Age of Ultron - Captain America 2 changed certain elements regarding the landscape of the franchise more than Thor did but neither are required viewing before Age of Ultron.

With all that said. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the best of the entire MCU bunch, if you have the time free between now and Ultron, then get to it!

Cap 2 kinda changed the scenery a bit. A lot.

Yeah, if you have time, I would watch Cap 2 before going to see Avengers. It probably won't ruin the movie if you don't but Alcore is right - it's a major event in the MCU.

Thanks. I wont have time this afternoon before the movie, but ill try to watch it asap. I just checked redbox and a bunch of them near me have it, so i'll probably see it soon.

Sunday cannot come soon enough! I'm going on blackout after this question:

Tagging just in case:

It was rumored that Thanos is in a vision during the movie(thats why Cap's shield is broken). True or false?
